Setup
1. Co nn ec t you r Rou ter’s Etherne t cable to your modem’s Et he rn et
por t (on the back o f your m od em). This p or t might be l ab eled
dif ferently o n your p ar ticul ar mode m. If you are a dding a
Rou ter for th e fir st time , thi s port may b e connected to yo ur
computer by an Ethernet cable. It is OK to disconnect your
computer and plug the Router into the modem instead.
2. Plug the Router’s power supply into a wall outlet.
3. Put the CD i nto your c omputer. If the CD do es n’t
ope n aut omaticall y, p le as e browse to your CD d ri ve
and double- click on the Belkin Setup CD icon.
4. Click the Setup icon on the CD menu.

for the network name a nd pa ss word from the n et work
informat io n card that is at tach ed to yo ur Router. Store the
card under the base of your Router for future reference.

are connected to the Internet via your new Belkin Router.
During setup you may be asked for additional information.
You m ay ne ed to enter a username and pa sswor d pro vided
by you r ISP. T his u se rn ame a nd pa ss word is li kely to be
found on mate rials t hat c am e fro m you r ISP when you
sig ne d up for ser vi ce. I f necessa ry, you may need to c on tact
your ISP to retrieve your username and password.
If you have a static IP ad dress, you may need to en ter
additional information also provided by your ISP.
If you r computer d oe sn’t have a w ireless adapte r, o r the
set up so ftwa re is unable to c ontrol it, y ou may b e asked to
connect your computer to the Router with a network cable.

After the initial setu p is co mplete, you h ave the option to
change settings like your network name, securit y type, and
pas sword . To ma ke th ese c ha nges an d oth er s, cl ic k on the
Advanced Too ls ic on at the CD Setu p men u and select o ne
of the following set tings that you would like to change:
Network Name & Security – Personalize your n et work na me
(SSID), password, and strength of wireless security.
Internet Service Provider & Login Settings – Have
you moved or changed Internet Service Providers?
If you ’d like to chang e these settings w ithout running
through the setup process again, this is the place.

The Belkin Router Manager
The Belkin Router Manager appears in your system tray
(Wind ows) o r men u bar (Mac). Its ic on indi ca tes t he cu rr ent
sta tus o f you r Rou ter a nd also allows you t o acc es s you r
Rou ter’s se tt in gs to make chan ge s. It also prov id es qu ic k
access to software that came bundled with your Router.
To access the Router set tings, click on the icon
and select from the menu that appears.
The status of your Router is shown by the Belkin Router Manager
icon, which closely mimics the light on the front of the Router.
Green: You a re conn ec ted t o your B el kin R ou ter
and it is connected to the Internet.
Amber: You a re co nn ected to your B elkin R outer,
but it is not connected to the Internet.

Manual Setup Using Your Browser
In you r browser, ty pe “ht tp: //router ” (you do n ot ne ed to t yp e
in any thing else s uc h as “w ww”). T he n pre ss the Ent er key. If
you’re st il l hav ing t rouble ru nning t he ma nu al se tup o ption, ty pe
“192.168.2.1” i n you r bro wser (you do not n ee d to ty pe in anything
else such as “http://” or “www ”). Then press the Enter key.

Adding Computers to Your Network
Wir eless d evices such as comput er s, ne twork p ri nters , and gaming
systems can connect to your Router with a few simple steps.
Using the CD
1. Pu t the Setup CD into your compute r. I f the CD
doe sn’t op en au tomat ic al ly, brows e to you r CD
drive and open the Belkin Setup CD icon.
2. Click the Setup icon on the CD menu.
3. After a brief installation, the setup software will ask you for the
net wo rk na me and passwor d fro m the network infor mation ca rd
tha t came with your Route r. T hi s card is mo st li kely now l oc ate d
underneath the foot of your Router in the provided card slot.

are connected to the Internet via your new Belkin Router.

Manually
If you choose not to us e the included Setu p CD for
add ing a dditional comput er s or wirel es s dev ic es, you
can manually add these items to your network.
1. Lo ca te th e wir eless-network-connecti on s opt io n
on your computer or wireless device.
2. Select your Belkin Route r fro m the l ist o f availabl e net works . You
can identi fy your B elkin Router by locating the network n ame
(SSID) from the card located underneath the foot of your Router.
3. Enter your net work passwor d (lo cated on
your network information card).
Your wireless device will take a few moments to connect to your
network. If the connection is not made the first time, try this
pro ce ss ag ai n. If yo u still have di ffic ul ty connecting to your networ k
after try ing t hi s pro ce ss a few times, see the “ Troublesh ooting”
section in this manual for help with connecting to your network.
Note: In some cases you may be prompted to select the
security type. It is printed on the card for your convenience.
Using the WPS But ton
1. St ar t WPS Pu sh Button Connec ti on (WPS PB C) on your
com pu ter o r oth er Wi -Fi dev ic e that you woul d like t o conne ct
wir elessly to y our R outer. Often there w ill b e a b ut ton f or th is
pur po se in software that c ame w it h the devi ce, o r a p hysic al
“WPS,” “PBC,” or “Security” button on the device itself.
2. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your Router.
The WPS light (small light a bove WPS button) will b link green w hile
it liste ns fo r your W i- Fi devi ce. O nc e a c on ne ction i s est ab li shed, the
lig ht wi ll turn green and t hen g o out. If a connection is no t est ab lished,
the light will blink amber. You may repeat the process to try again.
You can repeat this process for each WPS-enabled
device you’d like to add to your network.
