USB 2.0 products like hard drives, scanners, printers, video cameras and more will all work much faster than ever before. Your current USB devices will continue to work as they always have, and in some cases even better! Follow the simple installation instructions in this manual to get your card up and running, then enjoy the speed and convenience of USB!

Hardware Installation

(1) POWER OFF THE COMPUTER AND DISCONNECT THE POWER

CORD.

(2) Remove the screws that secure the computer cover and remove

the cover.

(3) Touch any part of the metal case to ground yourself. This will

discharge any static electricity that could damage your PCI card or

computer. (4) Locate an empty PCI expansion slot (5) Remove the port cover from the back of the PC that corresponds to

the PCI slot you selected. If the port cover is secured with a screw,

remove the screw and place it in a safe spot. You will need to

reuse the screw to install the PCI card. (6) Insert the PCI Card into the slot. Apply pressure as needed until

the Card is fully seated. (7) Now secure the PCI Card with the screw that you removed in step

#5. (8) Replace the computers cover. (9) Replace your computer power cable and insert the Belkin USB 2.0

driver installation CD into your computers CD-ROM drive. (10) Turn on power and start the Windows operating system.

Installation Procedure for Windows 98se

Driver Installation

This installation procedure will install two USB 1.1 Host Controllers and one USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller.

(1) Windows will detect “NEC USB Open Host Controller” and the “Add

New Hardware” dialog box will open. Click “Next”. (2 Select “Search for the best driver for your device” and click

“Next”. (3) Uncheck all the boxes and Click “Next”. (4) Windows will find the driver for “NEC USB Open Host Controller”.

Click “Next”. (5) Windows may ask you for the Windows installation CD. If asked,

insert the CD into the CD-ROM Drive and follow the prompts. (6) After Windows installs the required drivers, installation of the first

USB 1.1 Host Controller is complete. Click “Finish”. (7) The Add New Hardware Wizard will repeat the installation process

for the second USB 1.1 Host Controller.

Driver Installation

(8) After installation of the two USB 1.1 Host Controllers, Windows will

detect “PCI Universal Serial Bus.” This is the USB 2.0 EHCI Host

controller. (9) The “Add New Hardware Wizard” dialog box will open. Click

“Next”. (10) Select “Search for the best driver for your device” and click

“Next”. (11) Check the “CD-ROM drives” box. Click “Next”. (12) Windows will locate the driver for “Belkin USB 2.0 High Speed Host

Controller” Click “Next”. (13) Windows will now install the Enhanced Host Controller driver. Click

“Finish”. (14) After installation of the USB Host Controllers, Windows will detect

“USB Root Hub” and automatically install the required driver

support. This will repeat for each of the two USB OHCI Host

Controllers.

Installation is now complete.

Verifying Proper Installation (Windows 98/98 SE)

Check the “Windows Device Manager” to verify that your PCI Card has been properly installed.

(1) Right-click on my computer and select properties. (2) Select the Device Manager tab. (3) Click on the plus-sign (+) next to Universal Serial Bus controllers”.

The Device Manager list will now include two “NEC USB Open Host Controller” entries, one “Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host Controller” entry, and two additional “USB Root Hub” entries.

Driver Installation

Installation Procedure for Windows 2000

This installation procedure will install two USB 1.1 Host Controllers and one USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller.

(1) Windows will detect “NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller” The

required driver support will be automatically installed. No user

input is required. This will repeat one more time (2) Windows will detect “Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller”. This is

the USB 2.0 EHCI Host controller.

The “Found New Hardware Wizard” window will appear. Select “Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)” and click “Next”.

(3) Check the “CD-ROM drives” box. Click “Next”. (4) Windows will find “Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host Controller”. Click

“Next”. (5) Windows will now install the Enhanced Host Controller driver. Click

“Finish”.

Installation is now complete.

“Next”. (4) Check the “CD-ROM Drives” box. Click “Next”. (5) Windows will locate the driver for “Belkin USB 2.0 High speed Host

Controller” . Click “Next”. (6) Windows will now install the USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller

driver. Click “Finish”. (7) Windows will detect “NEC USB Open Host Controller (E13+)”. The

required driver support will be automatically installed. No user

input is required. (8) After installation of the USB Host Controllers, Windows will detect

“USB Root Hub” and automatically install the required driver

support. This will repeat one more time.

Installation is now complete.

input is required. This will repeat one more time.

NOTE: USB 2.0 driver support is not included in the initial release version of Windows XP. These drivers will be included in Windows XP Service Pack 1. Beginning in early January 2002, the Windows XP USB 2.0 drivers will be available from Microsoft via “Windows Update”. You must have a connection to the Internet in order to access “Windows Update”.

(2) Windows will detect “Universal Serial Bus”. If you have a

connection to the Internet the Windows “New Hardware Installation

“ wizard will access “Windows Update” and automatically

download and install the USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller driver. (3) Windows will detect “USB Root Hub”. The required driver support

will be automatically installed. This will repeat 2 times.

Installation is now complete.

Installation du matériel

(1) ÉTEIGNEZ L’ORDINATEUR ET DÉBRANCHEZ LE CORDON

D’ALIMENTATION.

(2) Retirez les vis de fixation du capot de l’ordinateur, puis retirez le

capot.

(3) Touchez un élément métallique du châssis afin de créer une mise

à la terre. Cette manipulation permet de vous décharger de toute électricité statique qui risquerait d’endommager le produit ou votre

ordinateur. (4) Recherchez une extension PCI libre. (5) Retirez l’obturateur du port à l’arrière du PC correspondant à

l’emplacement PCI sélectionné. Si l’obturateur est fixé au moyen

d’une vis, retirez celle-ci et conservez-la soigneusement. Vous

aurez besoin de cette vis pour mettre en place la carte PCI. (6) Insérez la carte PCI dans son emplacement. Appuyez

suffisamment afin qu’elle soit bien en place. (7) Fixez maintenant la carte à l’aide de la vis que vous aviez mise de

côté à l’étape 5. (8) Replacez le capot de l’ordinateur (9) Rebranchez le câble d’alimentation de votre ordinateur et insérez le

CD d’installation des pilotes USB 2.0 Belkin dans votre lecteur de

CD-ROM. (10) Allumez votre ordinateur et lancez Windows.

Procédure d’installation sous Windows 98SE

Installation des pilotes

Cette procédure vous guidera lors de l’installation de deux contrôleurs d’hôtes USB 1.1 et d’un contrôleur d’hôte USB 2.0 évolué.

(1) Windows reconnaît « NEC USB Open Host Controller ». La boîte de

dialogue d’ajout de nouveau matériel apparaît. Cliquez sur « Next [Suivant] ». (2 Sélectionnez l’option « Search for the best driver for your device

[Rechercher le meilleur pilote pour votre périphérique] », puis

cliquez sur « Next [Suivant] ». (3) Désélectionnez toutes les cases, puis cliquez sur « Next [Suivant] ». (4) Windows trouve le pilote correspondant à « NEC USB Open Host

Controller ». Cliquez sur « Next [Suivant] ». (5) Il se peut qu’un message de Windows vous demande le CD

d’installation de Windows. Si tel est le cas, insérez-le dans le

lecteur de CD-ROM et suivez les indications. (6) Une fois les pilotes requis installés, l’installation du premier

contrôleur d’hôte USB 1,1 est terminée. Cliquez sur « Finish [Terminer] ». (7) L’assistant d’ajout de nouveau matériel répète le processus

d’installation pour le deuxième contrôleur d’hôte USB 1.1.

Installation des pilotes

(8) Une fois les deux contrôleurs d’hôtes USB 1.1 installés, Windows

détecte « PCI Universal Serial Bus ». Il s’agit du contrôleur d’hôte

USB 2.0 EHCI. (9) La boîte de dialogue d’ajout de nouveau matériel s’ouvre. Cliquez

sur « Next [Suivant] ». (10) Sélectionnez l’option « Search for the best driver for your device

[Rechercher le meilleur pilote pour votre périphérique] », puis

cliquez sur « Next [Suivant] ». (11) Cochez la case correspondant au lecteur de CD-ROM. Cliquez sur

« Next [Suivant] ». (12) Windows recherche le pilote « Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host

Controller ». Cliquez sur « Next [Suivant] ». (13) Windows installe maintenant le pilote du contrôleur d’hôte évolué.

Cliquez sur « Finish [Terminer] ». (14) Après l’installation des contrôleurs d’hôtes USB, Windows détecte

« USB Root Hub » et installe automatiquement le pilote de prise

en charge requis. Cette étape sera répétée pour chacun des deux

contrôleurs d’hôte OHCI USB.

L’installation est terminée.

Vérification de l’installation (Windows 98/98 SE)

Ouvrez le Gestionnaire de périphériques de Windows afin de vous assurer que votre carte PCI a été correctement installée.

(1) Cliquez avec le bouton droit de la souris sur le Poste de travail et

sélectionnez Propriétés. (2) Sélectionnez l’onglet Gestionnaire de périphériques. (3) Cliquez sur le signe plus (+) à côté de « Universal Serial Bus

controllers ».

La liste du Gestionnaire de périphériques comprend maintenant deux entrées « NEC USB Open Host Controller », une entrée « Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host Controller » et deux entrées supplémentaires « USB Root Hub ».

La fenêtre d’ajout de nouveau matériel s’ouvre. Sélectionnez l’option « Search for a suitable driver for my device [Rechercher un pilote approprié pour mon périphérique] » (recommandé), puis cliquez sur « Next [Suivant] ».

(3) Cochez la case correspondant au lecteur de CD-ROM. Cliquez sur

« Next [Suivant] ». (4) Windows recherche « Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host Controller ».

Cliquez sur « Next [Suivant] ». (5) Windows installe maintenant le pilote du contrôleur hôte évolué.

Cliquez sur « Finish [Terminer] ».

L’installation est terminée.

Mit dieser Karte bringen Sie Ihren Computer auf den letzten Stand der USB-Technologie. Mit dieser Karte stehen Ihnen eine ganze Reihe von Hi-Speed USB 2.0-Produkten zur Verfügung. USB 2.0-Produkte wie Festplatten, Scanner, Drucker, Videokameras usw. arbeiten wesentlich schneller als bisherige Geräte. Ihre alten USB-Geräte arbeiten wie gewohnt, in manchen Fällen sogar noch etwas besser. Hardware-Installation

(1) SCHALTEN SIE DEN COMPUTER AUS UND LÖSEN SIE DAS

NETZKABEL.

(2) Lösen Sie die Schrauben an der Computerabdeckung, und nehmen

Sie die Abdeckung ab.

(3) Berühren Sie das Metall des Gehäuses, um sich zu erden. Dadurch

werden statische Ladungen, die die PCI-Karte oder den Computer

beschädigen könnten, entladen. (4) Suchen Sie einen freien PCI-Steckplatz (5) Nehmen Sie die Schnittstellenabdeckung des gewählten PCI-

Steckplatzes von der Rückseite des PCs ab. Ist die Abdeckung mit

einer Schraube befestigt, heben Sie diese gut auf. Sie benötigen

sie später zur Befestigung der PCI-Karte. (6) Stecken Sie die PCI-Karte in den Steckplatz ein. Möglicherweise

müssen Sie leichten Druck ausüben, damit sie im Steckplatz

einrastet. (7) Befestigen Sie die PCI-Karte jetzt mit der Schraube, die Sie in

Schritt 5 gelöst haben. (8) Befestigen Sie die Computerabdeckung. (9) Schließen Sie das Netzkabel des Computers wieder an und

legen Sie die USB 2.0-Treiber-CD in das CD-ROM-Laufwerk des

Computers ein. (10) Schalten Sie den Rechner ein, und starten Sie das Windows

Betriebssystem.

Installation unter Windows 98 SE

Treiberinstallation

Mit den folgenden Arbeitsschritten installieren Sie zwei USB 1.1 HostController und einen erweiterten USB 2.0 Host-Controller.

(1) Windows erkennt das Gerät „NEC USB Open Host Controller”. Das

Dialogfeld „Hardware-Assistent” wird geöffnet. Klicken Sie auf „Next”. (2 Wählen Sie die Option „Search for the best driver for your device”

(Nach dem besten Treiber für das Gerät suchen) und klicken Sie

auf „Next” (Weiter). (3) Heben Sie die Markierung aller Kontrollkästchen auf und klicken

Sie auf „Next” (Weiter). (4) Windows sucht die Treiber für den „NEC USB Open Host

Controller”. Klicken Sie auf „Next” (Weiter). (5) Windows fordert Sie möglicherweise auf, die Windows

Installations-CD einzulegen. Ist dies der Fall, legen Sie die CD-ROM

ein, und folgen Sie den Anweisungen. (6) Wenn Windows die benötigten Treiber installiert hat, ist der erste

USB 1.1 Host-Controller eingerichtet. Klicken Sie auf „Finish” (Fertig stellen). (7) Der Hardware-Assistent wiederholt den Installationsvorgang für

den zweiten USB 1.1 Host-Controller.

(8) Nach der Installation der beiden USB 1.1 Host-Controller findet

Windows den „PCI Universal Serial Bus”. Dies ist der USB 2.0 EHCI

Host-Controller. (9) Das Dialogfeld Hardware-Assistent wird geöffnet. Klicken Sie auf

„Next” (Weiter). (10) Wählen Sie die Option „Search for the best driver for your device”

(Nach dem besten Treiber für das Gerät suchen) und klicken Sie

auf „Next” (Weiter). (11) Markieren Sie das CD-ROM-Laufwerk. Klicken Sie auf „Next”

driver). Klicken Sie auf „Finish” (Fertig stellen). (14) Nach der Installation der beiden USB Host-Controller findet

Windows den „USB Root Hub” und installiert automatisch die

benötigte Treiberunterstützung. Dieser Vorgang wird für beide USB

OHCI-Host-Controller wiederholt.

Die Installation ist damit abgeschlossen.

Überprüfen Sie im Windows Geräte-Manager, ob die PCI-Karte ordnungsgemäß installiert worden ist.

(1) Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Symbol Arbeitsplatz

und wählen Sie Eigenschaften. (2) Klicken Sie auf die Registerkarte „Geräte-Manager”. (3) Klicken Sie auf das Pluszeichen (+) neben dem Eintrag „Universal

Serial Bus Controllers”.

Der Geräte-Manager listet jetzt zusätzlich zwei Einträge mit der Bezeichnung „NEC USB Open Host Controller”, einen Eintrag mit „Belkin USB 2.0 HiSpeed Host Controller” sowie zwei Einträge mit „USB Root Hub” auf.

Mit den folgenden Arbeitsschritten installieren Sie zwei USB 1.1 HostController und einen erweiterten USB 2.0 Host-Controller.

(1) Windows erkennt die Treiber für den „NEC PCI to USB Open

Host Controller”. Die erforderliche Treiberunterstützung wird

automatisch installiert. Benutzereingaben sind nicht erforderlich.

Dieser Vorgang wird nochmals wiederholt. (2) Windows erkennt das Gerät „Universal Serial Bus (USB)

Controller”. Dies ist der USB 2.0 EHCI Host-Controller.

Der Hardware-Assistent wird angezeigt. Wählen Sie die Option „Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)” (Nach einem passenden Treiber für das Gerät suchen [empfohlen]), und klicken Sie auf „Next” (Weiter).

(3) Markieren Sie das CD-ROM-Laufwerk. Klicken Sie auf „Next”

(Weiter). (4) Windows findet den „Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host Controller”.

(2) Windows erkennt den „Universal Serial Bus”. Wenn Sie über einen

Zugang zum Internet verfügen, greift der Hardware-Assistent

auf das „Windows Update” zu und lädt den Treiber „USB 2.0

U kunt uw computer nu upgraden met de nieuwste USB-technologie. Hierdoor kunt u profiteren van een groot aantal hi-speed USB 2.0producten! USB 2.0-apparaten als harde schijven, scanners, printers en videocamera’s werken allemaal veel sneller dan ooit tevoren. Uw bestaande USB-apparaten blijven werken als voorheen en soms zelfs beter. Volg de eenvoudige installatie-aanwijzingen in deze handleiding op om uw PCI-kaart gebruiksklaar te maken. Vervolgens kunt u gaan profiteren van de snelheid en het gemak van USB!

Hardware installeren

(1) SCHAKEL DE COMPUTER UIT EN ONTKOPPEL DE

NETVOEDINGSKABEL.

(2) Draai de schroeven los waarmee de computerkap vast zit en

verwijder de kap.

(3) Raak een metalen deel van de computerkast aan om uzelf te

aarden. Hierdoor wordt eventuele statische elektriciteit afgevoerd

die uw PCI-kaart of uw computer kan beschadigen. (4) Zoek een vrije PCI-uitbreidingssleuf op. (5) Verwijder aan de achterkant van de pc het afdekplaatje dat

correspondeert met de door u gekozen PCI-sleuf. Indien het

afdekplaatje van de poort met een schroef vastzit, verwijder dan

de schroef. Zorg ervoor dat u de schroef goed bewaart. Deze heeft

u later weer nodig om de PCI-kaart vast te zetten. (6) Bevestig de PCI-kaart in de sleuf. Druk zoveel als nodig is om de

kaart goed vast te zetten. (7) Zet de PCI-kaart vast met de schroef die u bij stap 5 hebt

verwijderd. (8) Plaats de computerkap weer op de computer. (9) Sluit de voedingskabel weer aan en plaats de installatie-cd met de

USB 2.0 stuurprogramma’s in het cd-romstation van de computer. (10) Zet de computer aan en start het Windows-besturingssysteem.

Installatieprocedure voor Windows 98SE

Stuurprogramma-installatie

Bij deze procedure worden twee USB 1.1-hostcontrollers en één geavanceerde USB 2.0-hostcontroller geïnstalleerd.

(1) Windows herkent de “NEC USB Open Host Controller”, waarna het

dialoogvenster “Add New Hardware” (Nieuwe hardware toevoegen)

wordt geopend. Klik op “Next” (Volgende). (2 Selecteer “Search for the best driver for your device” (Zoek het

beste stuurprogramma voor uw apparaat op) en klik op “Next”

(Volgende). (3) Verwijder de vinkjes uit alle vakjes en klik op “Next” (Volgende). (4) Windows zoekt het stuurprogramma voor de “NEC USB Open Host

Controller” op. Klik op “Next” (Volgende). (5) Windows vraagt u mogelijkerwijs om de Windows installatie-cd.

Plaats in dat geval de bewuste cd in het cd-romstation en volg de

aanwijzingen op het scherm op. (6) Nadat Windows de vereiste stuurprogramma’s heeft geïnstalleerd,

is de installatie van de eerste USB 1.1-hostcontroller voltooid. Klik op “Finish” (Beëindigen). (7) De wizard “Add new Hardware” (Nieuwe hardware toevoegen)

herhaalt deze installatieprocedure voor de tweede USB-1.1-

hostcontroller.

Stuurprogramma-installatie

(8) Na de installatie van de twee USB 1.1 hostcontrollers signaleert het

Windows-besturingssysteem een “PCI Universal Serial Bus”. Dit is

de “USB 2.0 EHCI Host controller”. (9) Het dialoogvenster van de wizard “Add New Hardware” (Nieuwe

hardware toevoegen) gaat nu open. Klik op “Next” (Volgende). (10) Selecteer “Search for the best driver for your device” (Zoek het

beste stuurprogramma voor uw apparaat op) en klik op “Next”

(Volgende). (11) Selecteer de optie “CD-ROM drives” (cd-romstations). Klik op

“Next” (Volgende). (12) Windows zoekt het stuurprogramma voor de “Belkin USB 2.0 High

Speed Host Controller” op. Klik vervolgens op “Next” (Volgende). (13) Windows zal nu het stuurprogramma voor de “Enhanced Host

Controller” installeren. Klik op “Finish” (Voltooien). (14) Na de installatie van de USB-hostcontrollers zal Windows de “USB

Root Hub” herkennen en automatisch de vereiste stuurprogramma-

ondersteuning installeren. Dit proces wordt voor elk van beide USB

OHCI-hostcontrollers herhaald.

De installatie is nu voltooid.

Controleren of de installatie correct is verlopen (Windows 98/98 SE)

Controleer in de “Windows Device Manager” (Windows Apparaatbeheer) of uw PCI-kaart correct is geïnstalleerd.

(1) Klik met uw rechter muisknop op “My Computer” (Deze computer)

en selecteer “Properties” (Eigenschappen). (2) Selecteer het tabblad “Device Manager” (Apparaatbeheer). (3) Klik op het plusteken (+) naast “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”.

Aan het overzicht in de “Device Manager” (Apparaatbeheer) zijn nu twee “NEC USB Open Host Controller”-vermeldingen toegevoegd: één vermelding voor “Belkin USB 2.0 hi-speed Host Controller” en twee extra vermeldingen voor “USB Root Hub”.

Stuurprogramma-installatie

Installatieprocedure voor Windows 2000

Bij deze procedure worden twee USB 1.1-hostcontrollers en één geavanceerde USB 2.0-hostcontroller geïnstalleerd.

(1) Windows zal de “NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller” herkennen.

De vereiste stuurprogramma-ondersteuning wordt automatisch

geïnstalleerd. U hoeft niets te doen. Dit wordt nogmaals herhaald. (2) Windows zal de “Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller” herkennen.

Dit is de “USB 2.0 EHCI Host controller”.

Nu verschijnt het wizardvenster “Found New Hardware” (Nieuwe hardware gevonden). Selecteer “Search for a suitable driver for my device (Recommended)” (Zoek naar een geschikt stuurprogramma voor mijn apparaat (Aanbevolen)) en klik op “Next” (Volgende).

(3) Selecteer de optie “CD-ROM drives” (cd-romstations). Klik op

“Next” (Volgende). (4) Windows zal de “Belkin USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Host Controller” vinden.

Klik op “Next” (Volgende). (5) Windows zal nu het stuurprogramma voor de “Enhanced Host

Controller” installeren. Klik op “Finish” (Voltooien).

De installatie is nu voltooid.

Hardware”(Nieuwe hardware toevoegen). (3) Selecteer de optie “Automatic search for a better driver

(Recommended)” (Automatisch naar een beter stuurprogramma

zoeken (Aanbevolen)). Klik op “Next” (Volgende). (4) Selecteer de optie “CD-ROM drives” (cd-romstations). Klik op

“Next” (Volgende). (5) Windows zoekt het stuurprogramma voor de “Belkin USB 2.0 High

speed Host Controller” op. Klik op “Next” ( Volgende). (6) Windows installeert nu het stuurprogramma van de “USB 2.0

Enhanced Host Controller”. Klik op “Finish” (Voltooien). (7) Windows herkent de “NEC USB Open Host Controller (E13+)”.

geïnstalleerd. U hoeft niets te doen. Dit wordt nogmaals herhaald.

OPMERKING: USB 2.0 stuurprogramma-ondersteuning is niet opgenomen in de eerste op de markt gebrachte versie van Windows XP. In Windows XP Service Pack 1 zijn deze stuurprogramma’s opgenomen. Sinds begin januari 2002 stelt Microsoft de stuurprogramma’s voor Windows XP USB

2.0 beschikbaar via “Windows Update”. U moet beschikken over een internetaansluiting om toegang te krijgen tot “Windows Update”.

(2) Windows herkent de “Universal Serial Bus”. Als u een

internetaansluiting hebt, opent de Windows wizard “New Hardware

Installation” (Nieuwe hardware installeren) “Windows Update”.

Vervolgens wordt het “USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller”-

stuurprogramma gedownload en geïnstalleerd. (3) Windows herkent de “USB Root Hub”. De vereiste

stuurprogramma-ondersteuning wordt automatisch geïnstalleerd.

Dit wordt tweemaal herhaald.

De installatie is nu voltooid.

Instalación del hardware

(1) APAGUE EL ORDENADOR Y DESCONECTE EL CABLE DE

ALIMENTACIÓN. (2) Retire los tornillos que fijan la carcasa del ordenador y retírela. (3) Toque cualquier parte de metal de la carcasa para establecer

una toma de tierra. De esta forma se descargará toda la energía

estática que pudiese dañar la Tarjeta PCI o su ordenador. (4) Localice una ranura de expansión PCI libre (5) Retire la cubierta del puerto de la parte posterior del PC que se

corresponda con la ranura PCI que ha seleccionado. Si la cubierta

está fijada con un tornillo, retire el tornillo, y guárdelo aparte en un

lugar seguro. Necesitará utilizar el tornillo de nuevo para instalar la

Tarjeta PCI. (6) Inserte la Tarjeta PCI en la ranura. Aplique la presión suficiente

para asegurar que la Tarjeta esté bien colocada. (7) Ahora fije la tarjeta PCI con el tornillo que retiró en el paso 5. (8) Coloque de nuevo la carcasa del ordenador. (9) Vuelva a conectar el cable de alimentación de su ordenador e

introduzca el CD de instalación del controlador USB 2.0 de Belkin

en la unidad de CD-ROM de su ordenador. (10) Encienda el ordenador e inicie el sistema operativo Windows.

Procedimiento de instalación para Windows 98SE

Instalación del controlador

Este procedimiento de instalación instalará dos controladores de host USB

1.1 y un controlador de host mejorado USB 2.0.

(1) Windows detectará el “NEC USB Open Host Controller”

(Controlador de host abierto USB de NEC) y se abrirá la ventana de

diálogo “Add New Hardware” (Agregar nuevo hardware). Haga clic en “Next” (Siguiente). (2 Seleccione “Search for the best driver for your device” (Buscar

el mejor controlador para su dispositivo) y haga clic en “Next”

(Siguiente). (3) Quite la selección de todos los recuadros y haga clic en “Next”

(Siguiente). (4) Windows encontrará los controladores para el “NEC USB Open

Installazione dell’hardware

(1) SPEGNERE IL COMPUTER E STACCARE IL CAVO DI

ALIMENTAZIONE.

(2) Rimuovere il pannello del telaio del computer dopo aver estratto le

rispettive viti di fissaggio.

(3) Toccare un punto metallico qualsiasi del telaio per scaricare la

propria elettricità a terra. In questo modo si scaricherà tutta l’energia statica che potrebbe danneggiare il prodotto o il

computer. (4) Individuare uno slot di espansione PCI vuoto. (5) Rimuovere la lastra di metallo che ricopre lo slot sul retro del PC

corrispondente allo slot PCI scelto. Rimuovere la lastra di metallo

svitando le viti (in caso vi siano) e riponendole in un luogo sicuro.

Le viti dovranno essere riutilizzate per installare la scheda PCI. (6) Inserire la scheda PCI nello slot. Esercitare la pressione

necessaria ad inserire la scheda. (7) Fissare la scheda PCI con la vite tolta nella fase 5. (8) Rimontare il pannello del telaio. (9) Ricollegare il cavo di alimentazione del computer e inserire il CD

con il driver USB 2.0 nel lettore CD-ROM del computer. (10) Accendere il computer e avviare il sistema operativo Windows.

Installazione del driver

Questa procedura installerà due controller host OHCI USB 1.1 e un controller host EHCI USB 2.0.

(1) 0 Windows rileverà il “NEC USB Open Host Controller” e si aprirà

la finestra di dialogo “Add New Hardware” (Installazione guidata

nuovo hardware). Fare clic su “Next” (Avanti). (2 Selezionare “Search for the best driver for your device” (Cerca

driver migliore) e cliccare “Next” (Avanti). (3) Deselezionare tutte le caselle e cliccare su “Next” (Avanti). (4) Windows ricercherà il driver per “NEC USB Open Host Controller”.

Fare clic su “Next” (Avanti). (5) Windows potrebbe richiedere l’inserimento del CD di installazione

di Windows. Se richiesto, inserire il CD nel lettore CD-ROM e

proseguire con la procedura di installazione. (6) Una volta che Windows ha installato i driver necessari,
