Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu Ihrem neuen Belinea-Monitor. Sie haben sich für einen innovativen Hersteller entschie­den, der High-Tech-Monitore mit sehr hohem Qualitätsniveau fertigt. Wir sind sicher, dass dieser Monitor Ihre
Erwartungen erfüllt und dass Sie mit ihm einen zuverlässigen Partner gewinnen.

Der Monitor ist die Schnittstelle zwischen Mensch und Technik. Wer mit dem Computer arbeitet, hat nicht den PC,

Bedienung des Belinea-Monitors vertraut machen.
Sehen Sie diese Anleitung auch dann kurz durch, wenn
Ihnen die Bedienung eines Monitors bereits vertraut
ist.

Handbuch korrekte und akkurate Informationen zu

EIGENSCHAFTEN IM ÜBERBLICK

Dieser Monitor eignet sich zum Anschluss an IBM-kompatible Systeme mit analogem VGA-Anschluss. Nachfol­gend finden Sie einen Überblick über die vielfältigen Funktionen und Leistungsmerkmale des Geräts.

Hinweise zum Aufstellungsort

 Der Aufstellungsort darf weder extrem heiß oder

kalt noch feucht oder staubig sein. Hitze und
Kälte können die Funktionsfähigkeit des Moni­tors beeinträchtigen. Feuchtigkeit und Staub
können zu einem Ausfall des Monitors führen.

 Stellen Sie den Monitor nicht in unmittelbarer

Nähe von Wärmequellen wie Heizkörpern oder
Radiatoren auf. Das Gerät darf zudem keinen
mechanischen Vibrationen oder Stößen ausge­setzt sein.

 Stellen Sie den Monitor so auf, dass kein direk-

tes Licht oder Sonneneinstrahlung auf die Bild­schirmoberfläche fällt. Andernfalls können Spie­gelungen entstehen, so dass die Bildbrillanz
beeinträchtigt wird.

Hinweise zum Netzanschluss

Verwenden Sie ausschließlich das für Ihr Land
geeignete Netzkabel.

Die Netzsteckdose sollte sich in direkter Nähe
befinden und leicht zugänglich sein. Der Moni­tor kann nur durch Ziehen des Netzsteckers aus
der Steckdose ganz vom Netz getrennt werden.

Der Bildschirm verfügt über eine effektive Bilddiagonale von 38,1 cm (15") und ent­spricht damit hinsichtlich der Bildgröße annähernd einem normalen 17"-Röhren­monitor. Der Bildschirm erreicht eine maximale Auflösung von 1024 x 768 Punkten.

Der Bildschirm tastet automatisch alle Horizontalfrequenzen im Bereich zwischen
30 und 62 kHz sowie alle Vertikalfrequenzen im Bereich zwischen 50 und 75 Hz ab.

Das Digital-Front-Control-System mit 21 Speicherplätzen (16 voreingestellte und
5 benutzerdefinierte) ermöglicht das leichte Einstellen der verschiedenen Grafik­und Farbstandards.

Der LCD-Bildschirm verbraucht bei typischem Betrieb ca. 50% weniger Strom als
herkömmliche Röhrenmonitore. Er unterstützt zudem den EPA-Standard, so dass
der Stromverbrauch in Leerlaufzeiten drastisch reduziert wird (< 3 Watt).

Der LCD-Bildschirm ist nur 15,2 cm tief und beansprucht dadurch nur minimale Stell­fläche auf Ihrem Schreibtisch.

Der Monitor verfügt über ein integriertes Stereolautsprecher-System (Verstärkerleistung
1 Watt bei 8 Ohm / 1 KHz - 15 KHz, Lautsprecherleistung 2 Watt Spitzenleistung).

Der Monitor unterschreitet die Strahlengrenzwerte nach TCO 99.

Sicherheitshinweise zum Betrieb

Das Netzkabel darf nicht beschädigt werden.
Stellen Sie keine Gegenstände auf das Netzka­bel, und sorgen Sie dafür, dass keine Knoten
am Kabel auftreten. Um das Kabel zu lösen,
ziehen Sie stets am Stecker und nie am Kabel
selbst. Ein beschädigtes Netzkabel kann zu
Brand oder Stromschlägen führen.

 Achten Sie darauf, dass die Lüftungsschlitze

nicht verdeckt werden. Die Luftzirkulation im
Monitor ist erforderlich, um eine Überhitzung zu
vermeiden. Wird sie beeinträchtigt, können
Brand oder ein Ausfall des Monitors die Folge
sein.

 Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen des Monitors kei-

ne Lösungsmittel, da andernfalls die Gehäuse­oberfläche beschädigt werden kann. Weitere
Hinweise zur Pflege des Geräts finden Sie im
Abschnitt Wartung und Pflege.

Öffnen Sie den Monitor niemals eigenständig.
Andernfalls besteht die Gefahr eines Strom­schlags oder anderer Personenschäden. Der
Monitor darf nur von Fachpersonal geöffnet und
gewartet werden.

Der LCD-Monitor darf nur mit dem beigefügten
Netzteil betrieben werden.

Signalkabel

Heben Sie den Monitor vorsichtig aus der Verpackung,
und überprüfen Sie das Zubehör auf Vollständigkeit
(siehe Abbildung 1).

Bewahren Sie den Originalkarton und das Verpa­ckungsmaterial für den Fall auf, dass Sie den Monitor
einschicken oder anderweitig transportieren müssen.

1. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihr PC und der LCD-Bild-

schirm vom Netz getrennt sind.

2. Schließen Sie das VGA-Kabel an die VGA-Buchse

des Monitors (

2. Es gibt insgesamt 9 verschiedene, nach Katego-

rien gegliederte OSD-Untermenüs. Wählen Sie
durch Drücken der OSD-Taste

oder die ge­wünschte Kategorie (siehe Abschnitt Funktionen
des OSD-Menüs).

3. Drücken Sie die OSD-Taste MENU, um die ausge-

wählte Funktion bzw. das dazugehörige Unterme­nü zu aktivieren.

4. Wenn Sie ein Untermenü aufgerufen haben, so

wählen Sie erneut mit der OSD-Taste

oder

die gewünschte Unterfunktion aus, und drücken Sie
die Taste MENU.

5. Stellen Sie ggf. mit den OSD-Tasten

oder den

gewünschten Wert ein.

6. Drücken Sie nochmals die OSD-Taste MENU, um

den Wert abzuspeichern. Wiederholen Sie ggf. die
Schritte 2-5, um weitere Einstellungen vorzuneh­men.

7. Das OSD-Menü verschwindet von selbst, nachdem

ca. 30 Sekunden lang keine Bedienung erfolgt ist.
Dabei werden die aktuellen Einstellungen gespei­chert. Sie können es aber auch manuell ausblen­den, indem Sie die Option BEENDEN auswählen.

in Betrieb zu nehmen, wird dringend empfohlen, die
Belinea-Einstellungsdatei zu installieren. Sie können
diese über Ihren Belinea-Händler beziehen oder vom
MAXDATA FTP-Server ftp.maxdata.com laden.
Wählen Sie hier die Rubrik Belinea Treiber/Driver,
und laden Sie die Dateien Belinea.inf und
README_Belinea.TXT herunter. Befolgen Sie
die Installationsanweisungen in der Datei
README_Belinea.TXT.

NT 4.0 benötigen Sie keine separate
Einstellungsdatei. Wählen Sie die Bildwiederhol­frequenz und Anzahl der Farben direkt unter den Me­nüpunkten Einstellungen, Systemsteuerung, Anzei­ge, Einstellungen aus.

Automatische Bildjustierung .................................

Sie können die Bildeinstellungen (wie Helligkeit, Kon­trast, Bildposition, Phase etc.) entweder manuell ein­stellen oder die automatische Justierungsfunktion des
LCD-Monitors verwenden. Hiermit werden die einzel­nen Bildparameter auf die optimalen Werte für den ak­tuellen Grafikmodus eingestellt. Drücken Sie zum Auf­rufen der automatischen Justierung die Taste AUTO
(

S

in Abb. 4). Warten Sie kurz, bis die automatische

Justierung abgeschlossen ist.

Sie können den Kontrast automatisch auf einen für die
Darstellung optimalen Wert einstellen, indem Sie die
Taste

(T in Abb. 4) drücken, während das OSD-

Menü nicht angezeigt wird.

BILDEINSTELLUNG ÜBER DAS OSD-MENÜ

Das OSD-Menü ist ein Fenster, in dem Sie die aktuel­len Bildeinstellungen einsehen und ändern können. Es
wird folgendermaßen aufgerufen:

1. Drücken Sie die OSD-Taste MENU (

KONTRAST

Regelt den Kontrast des Bildes.

AUTO-KONTRAST

Wählt automatisch eine geeignete Kontrastein­stellung des Bildes.

AUTO-SYNC

Stellt automatisch die optimalen Werte für die
Bildeinstellungen (Helligkeit, Kontrast, Bildposition,
Phase etc.) ein.

HELLIGKEIT

Regelt die Helligkeit des Bildes.

FARBE

In diesem Menü können Sie durch Drücken der OSD­Taste

oder einen der voreingestellten Modi (Werks­modus 1 oder Werksmodus 2) auswählen. Die Auswir­kung der von Ihnen gewählten Farbtemperatur ist sofort
am Bildschirm sichtbar. Falls Sie die Farbwerte ein­zeln einstellen möchten, wählen Sie die Einstellmöglich­keiten für R, G und B (roter, grüner und blauer Vorder­grund), und stellen Sie mit den OSD-Tasten

oder
den gewünschten Wert ein. Wenn alle Farbwerte ge­eignet eingestellt sind, wählen Sie abschließend die
Option 

Hauptmenü aus, und drücken Sie die

Taste MENU.

LCD EINSTELLEN

PC/MAC: Hiermit geben Sie an, ob der Monitor

an einen PC oder einen Macintosh angeschlos­sen ist.

H-GRÖSSE: Regelt die horizontale Größe des
Bildes.

H-LAGE: Regelt die horizontale Position des
Bildes.

V-LAGE: Regelt die vertikale Position des
Bildes.

FUNKTIONEN DES OSD-MENÜS

FEINABGLEICH: Regelt die vertikale und hori-

zontale Feinjustierung.

AUTO-SYNC: Stellt automatisch die optimalen
Werte für die Bildeinstellungen (Helligkeit, Kon­trast, Bildposition, Phase etc.) ein.

HAUPTMENÜ: Kehrt zum Hauptmenü zurück.

SPRACHE

Wählt die Sprache des OSD-Menüs: Englisch,
Französisch, Deutsch, Italienisch, Spanisch.

VERSCHIEDENES

OSD H-LAGE: Wählt die horizontale Position

des OSD-Menüs.

OSD V-LAGE: Wählt die vertikale Position
des OSD-Menüs.

GLÄTTEN: Erzeugt eine Glättung (Rendering)
der Bilddarstellung für alle Grafikmodi < 1024
x 768 Bildpunkte. Hierdurch wird besonders
die Lesbarkeit von Text optimiert.

 Lösen Sie zuerst das Netzkabel von der Stromver-

sorgung, indem Sie den Stecker aus der Steckdo­se ziehen.

 Wenn der Monitor stark verschmutzt ist, reinigen

Sie ihn mit einem angefeuchteten Tuch. Verwen­den Sie nur warmes Wasser, und reiben Sie den
Monitor danach trocken. Durch Lösungsmittel bzw.
scharfe Reinigungsmittel kann die Gehäuseober­fläche beschädigt werden. Reinigen Sie die Bild­schirmfläche nur mit einem weichen Tuch, da an­sonsten die LCD-Beschichtung Schaden nehmen
kann.

 Reinigen Sie den Monitor bei leichter Verschmut-

zung nur mit einem trockenen, weichen und anti­statischen Tuch.

 Die vorderseitige LCD-Bildschirmfläche ist sehr

empfindlich. Vermeiden Sie daher jeglichen Druck
auf die Bildschirmfläche (Finger, Stift etc.), und ge­hen Sie besonders beim Transportieren des Ge­räts vorsichtig vor, damit der Bildschirm keinen stär­keren Stößen ausgesetzt ist und keine Kratzer
entstehen (verwenden Sie stets die Original­verpackung).

STANDARD- UND BENUTZERDEFINIERTE GRAFIKMODI

In der nachfolgenden Tabelle finden Sie die werkseitig
vordefinierten Grafikmodi mit den dazugehörigen Auf­lösungen und Frequenzen. Für jeden dieser Modi sind
alle Bildeinstellungen (Breite, Höhe, Position etc.) be­reits optimal konfiguriert.

Sie können bis zu 5 weitere Einstellungen abspeichern.
Verwenden Sie eine andere Auflösung oder eine an­gegebene Auflösung mit anderen Frequenzen, so ju-

stieren Sie einfach das Bild, bis es optimal dargestellt
wird (siehe Abschnitt Bildeinstellung über das OSD­Menü). Wenn Sie später nach einem Moduswechsel
diese Auflösung wieder einschalten (z.B. durch Aufru­fen des entsprechenden Programms), werden die von
Ihnen gespeicherten Werte für Bildgröße, -position etc.
automatisch übernommen (d.h. der Monitor erinnert
sich an Ihre Einstellungen).

Netzanzeige leuchtet nicht

- Prüfen Sie, ob das Netzkabel und das Netzteil richtig angeschlossen sind (siehe Abschnitt Anschließen).

- Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Monitor mit dem Netzschalter eingeschaltet wurde (siehe Abschnitt Einschal­ten).

Netzanzeige leuchtet orange

- Befindet sich der Monitor in einem Stromsparmodus (siehe Abschnitt Stromsparfunktionen)?

- Ist der PC eingeschaltet (siehe Dokumentation zu Ihrem PC)?

Netzanzeige leuchtet grün

- Evtl. ist ein Bildschirmschoner auf Ihrem PC installiert und wurde nach einer bestimmten Zeit der Inaktivität
eingeschaltet. Drücken Sie eine Taste auf der Tastatur, oder bewegen Sie die Maus.

Meldung Kein Signal

- Ist das Signalkabel am Monitor und an der Grafikbuchse des PC angeschlossen (siehe Abschnitt Anschlie­ßen)?

Bild ist nach links/rechts oder nach oben/unten verschoben

- Wenn das Bild zwar normal, aber nicht zentriert angezeigt wird, können Sie dies mit den OSD-Funktionen
justieren. Weitere Informationen hierzu finden Sie im Kapitel Grundlegende Einstellungen, Abschnitt Auto­matische Bildjustierung oder im Abschnitt Funktionen des OSD-Menüs unter LCD einstellen.

Bild flimmert oder zittert

- Möglicherweise ist nicht die richtige Einstellungsdatei für den Monitor ausgewählt. Informationen zum Ein­richten des Monitors unter Windows

9x/ME/2000/XP finden Sie im Abschnitt Konfigurieren.

Bild ist verschwommen oder unscharf

- Überprüfen Sie die Helligkeits- und Kontrasteinstellung (siehe Untermenüs Kontrast und Helligkeit im
Abschnitt Funktionen des OSD-Menüs).

- Überprüfen Sie die Einstellungen der Funktionen Feinabgleich und Auto-Sync (siehe entsprechende Ab­schnitte unter Funktionen des OSD-Menüs).

Farbdarstellung ungenügend

- Wenn die Farben etwas anders aussehen, als sie eigentlich sollten (z.B. Weiß nicht richtig weiß ist), sollten Sie die
Farbtemperatur nachregeln (siehe Funktion Farbe im Abschnitt Funktionen des OSD-Menüs).

STROMSPARFUNKTIONEN

use of your Belinea Monitor. Please take the time to look
through these instructions even if you are familiar with
monitors.

We have taken all possible care to ensure that this manual

Some Belinea monitor models come with 2 power cords.
Please ensure you use the UK plug (3 pin) in the UK and
not the European plug (2 pin).

Do not place the monitor in very hot or cold, nor damp or
dusty surroundings. Do not put vases etc. on the monitor,
water may cause short circuits. Do not block or cover the
ventilating openings. All products that produce magnetic
fields, i.e. laser printers, loud-speakers etc., must not be
placed close to the monitor. Do not install this monitor in
areas where too much light or sunshine might directly hit
the screen, otherwise the brightness of the picture will be
poor due to reflections. Refer all servicing and maintenance
to authorised service personnel only!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Safety instructions for operation

The power cord must not be damaged. Do not
place any objects on the power cord and make
sure it does not have any knots. To unplug the
cord, always pull on the plug and not on the cable
itself.

 Avoid covering the ventilation slots. Air circulation

is necessary to prevent the monitor from
overheating. If the air circulation is restricted it
could cause fire or damage the monitor.

 Do not use any solvents to clean the monitor, as

the housing could be damaged. For more
information about cleaning the monitor, please see
Caring for your Monitor.

Never open the monitor housing yourself. There
is a danger of electric shock and other hazards.
The monitor may only be opened and serviced by
qualified professionals.

The LCD monitor may only be operated with the
included power supply.

Note on monitor placement

 The setup location must not be extremely hot, cold,

humid or dusty. Heat and cold can impair the
functionality of the monitor. Humidity and dust can
cause the monitor to fail.

 Dont place the monitor near heaters such as

radiators or the like. Dont expose the monitor to
mechanical vibrations or jarring.

 Position the monitor so that no direct light or sun

strikes the screen, which could cause reflections
that reduce the quality of the image.

Notes on power connection

Only use the power cord designated for use in
your country.

The wall outlet should be within easy reach. Pulling
the power plug is the only way to disconnect the
monitor from the power source.

The LCD monitor has an effective diagonal size of 15" (38.1 cm) so as far as the effective
display size is concerned, it is comparable to a standard 17" monitor. The monitor attains
a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

The monitor automatically scans all horizontal frequencies between 30 and 62 kHz as
well as all vertical frequencies between 50 and 75 Hz.

Digital Front Control with 21 memory settings (16 preset and 5 user defined) and digital
control keys make setting the various graphic and color standards easy.

The LCD monitor has a power consumption 50% below that of ordinary CRT monitors
during typical operation. In addition, it is EPA compliant, drastically reducing power
consumption when not in use (< 3 Watts).

The LCD monitor has a depth of only 5.9" (15.2 cm), minimizing its space requirements
and leaving more desktop space to you.

The monitor is equipped with an internal stereo speaker system (amplifier: 1W at 8 ohms
/ 1 kHz - 15 kHz, speakers: 2W peak, 1W rated) which can be connected to your sound
card.

This monitor exceeds the TCO 99 emission requirements.

CONNECTING

1. Make sure that your computer and the LCD monitor

are disconnected from the power supply.

2. Connect one end of the VGA cable to the VGA
connector on your monitor (



in fig. 2) and the other

end to your computer.

Carefully lift the monitor out of the packaging and make
sure that all components are included (see fig. 1).

Save the original box and packing material in case you
have to ship or transport the monitor.

STARTUP

1. First start your PC and then turn on your Belinea

monitor using the power switch (

in fig. 4). The status

indicator (

in fig. 4) should light up green.

2. Adjust the image to meet your requirements (see the
following sections Basic Setup and Image settings
using the OSD menu).

3. If there is no image displayed on the monitor, consult
the section Troubleshooting.

then connect one end of the sound cable to the audio
input connector of the monitor (

If using the monitor under Windows

®

9x/ME/2000 or XP
we strongly recommend installing the Belinea settings file.
You can get this file from your Belinea dealer or download
it from the MAXDATA FTP server at ftp.maxdata.com.
Here, click the Belinea_Treiber_Driver directory and
download the Belinea.inf and README_Berlinea.TXT
files. Follow the installation instructions in the
README_Belinea.TXT file.

NT 4.0:

Under Windows

®

NT 4.0 no separate setup file is required.
Select the vertical frequency and the number of colors
directly from within the Settings à Control Panel à
Display à Settings menu.

BASIC SETUP

➧ Automatic Image Adjustment ...................................

You can adjust the image settings (such as brightness,
contrast, image position, phase etc) manually or by using
the LCD monitors automatic image adjustment feature.
This will adjust the image parameters to their optimal
settings for the current graphics mode. Press AUTO (



in fig. 4) to launch the automatic adjustment. The process
will take a short while until completed.

➧ Direct contrast adjustment ......................................

You can call up the automatic contrast adjustment directly
by pressing the

button ( in fig. 4) while the OSD
menu is not displayed. This optimizes the contrast setting
for the current display.

IMAGE SETTINGS USING THE OSD MENU

The OSD menu is a window on your screen that allows
you to view and change display settings. To change an
OSD setting:

1. Press the MENU button (



in fig. 4) to display the

OSD menu on the screen.

2. There are a total of 9 OSD submenus divided by

categories. Select the desired submenu by pressing
the OSD button

or (see section OSD Menu

Functions).

3. Press the MENU OSD button to activate the selected

function or associated submenu.

4. If you selected a submenu, now select the subfunction

you want using the

or OSD buttons, then press

the MENU button.

5. Set the desired value using the OSD button

or .

6. Press the MENU button again to save the setting.

Repeat steps 2-5 to make further adjustments as
needed.

7. The OSD menu automatically disappears if no changes

are made for more than 30 seconds. The current
settings will be saved. You can close it manually by
pressing the EXIT button.

OSD MENU FUNCTIONS

AUTO-SYNC: Automatically selects the optimal

settings for image parameters (brightness,
contrast, image position, phase etc).

MAIN MENU: Returns to main menu.

LANGUAGE

Selection of the OSD menu language: English, French,
German, Italian, Spanish.

MISC

H-OSD POSITION: Adjusts the horizontal

position of the OSD menu.

V-OSD POSITION: Adjusts the vertical position
of the OSD menu.

SMOOTHING: Generates screen display
smoothing (rendering) for all graphics modes
< 1024 x 768 pixels. In particular this optimizes
text readability.

INVISIBLE: Makes OSD background invisible.

INFORMATION: Displays the current resolution

as well as the horizontal and vertical frequency
(no adjustments possible).

RECALL: Restores factory display settings.

MAIN MENU: Returns to main menu.

EXIT

Closes the OSD menu.

CONTRAST

Controls the picture contrast.

AUTO-CONTRAST

Automatically selects a suitable screen contrast
setting.

AUTO-SYNC

Automatically selects the optimal settings for image
parameters (brightness, contrast, image position, phase
etc).

BRIGHTNESS

Controls the picture brightness.

COLOR

In this menu, press the or OSD buttons to select
one of the preset modes (factory mode 1 or factory mode

2). The color temperature you select is immediately
displayed on screen. If you wish to set color values
individually, select the R, G, and B setting option (red,
green and blue foreground) and use the

or OSD
buttons to set the value you want. Once you are happy
with your color settings, select the 

main menu

option then press the MENU button.

LCD ADJUST

PC/MAC: Here you specify whether the monitor

is connected to a PC or to a Macintosh.

H SIZE: Controls the horizontal image size.

H-POSITION: Controls the horizontal position.

V-POSITION: Controls the vertical position.

FINE TUNE: Controls vertical and horizontal fine

adjustment.

 First, unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
 If the LCD screen is extremely dirty, clean it with a

moist cloth. Use only warm water and then wipe the
monitor dry. Solvents or harsh cleaners can damage
the housing. Clean the display surface only with a
soft cloth, otherwise you may damage the displays
coating.

 If the monitor is only slightly dirty, clean it using a soft,

dry and antistatic cloth.

 The LCD monitors screen surface is very sensitive.

Please avoid any contact with the surface (finger,
pencil etc.) and be especially cautious during
transportation since jolts and shocks can cause the
screen to become scratched (always use the original
packaging).

PRESET AND USER DEFINED GRAPHIC MODES

The following table lists the factory preset graphic modes
and their resolutions and frequencies. For all these graphic
modes all image adjustments (width, height, position, etc.)
are already optimally configured.

You can save up to 5 additional settings. If you use a
different resolution or one of the given resolutions with other

frequencies, you can adjust the image until it is perfectly
displayed. If you switch back to this resolution after
changing modes (i.e. by running the same software), the
values you saved for image size, position, etc., will
automatically be recalled (that is, the monitor remembers
your settings).

WALL MOUNTING

The Belinea-monitor is shipped with the standard desktop configuration. However, you can optionally mount the device
on a wall or on a monitor swivel arm (optional accessory). Please follow the corresponding instructions
(4-hole assembly with a spacing of 2.5 x 2.5 inches (75 x 75mm) according to the international VESA FPMPMI standard).

TROUBLESHOOTING

Blank Screen

Power indicator is off

- Make sure the power cable and the power adapter are connected properly (see section Connecting).

- Make sure that the monitor was turned on using the power switch (see section Startup).

Power indicator lights orange

- Perhaps a power saving mode is active (see section Energy Saving Functions)?

- Is the PC turned on (see your PCs documentation)?

Power indicator lights green

- A screen saver may have activated automatically after a certain period of inactivity. Press any key on your
keyboard or move the mouse.

No Signal message

- Is the signal cable connected to the monitor and the PCs graphics port (see section Connecting)?

- Is the PC turned on (see your PCs documentation)?

Display Problems

Image is displaced to the left/right or to the top/bottom

- If the image appears normal but off-center, you can adjust it using the OSD functions. For further information, see

- Perhaps setup file chosen for the monitor is incorrect. For information on monitor setup under Windows

Image is blurred

- Check brightness and contrast settings (see chapter OSD Menu Functions, section Contrast" and Brightness").

- Check the Fine Tune and Auto-Sync settings (see corresponding sections of OSD Menu Functions chapter).

Color problems

- If the colors are off (e.g. white is not really displayed as white etc), you should adjust the color temperature (see
Color function in section OSD Menu Functions).

ENERGY SAVING FUNCTIONS

This monitor is equipped with power management functions
according to EPA standard. If your computer is using a
compatible graphics adapter or appropriate software, energy
consumption can be automatically reduced when your
monitor is idle. When the monitor is in power saving mode,
the color of the status LED (see



in figure 4) will turn orange.

The monitor will automatically switch back on when you
use the keyboard, mouse or another input device.

The following table illustrates power consumption values
and display indications for this automatic power saving

INFORMATIONS IMPORTANTES

Précautions demploi

Le câble dalimentation secteur ne doit pas être
endommagé. Ne placez aucun objet sur ce
câble, et évitez quil ne semmêle. Pour
débrancher ce cordon, tirez toujours sur la prise,
et non sur le câble lui-même. Un câble électrique
endommagé pourrait provoquer un incendie ou
une électrocution.

 Évitez de recouvrir les orifices de ventilation.

Une circulation dair constante est nécessaire
pour empêcher le moniteur de trop chauffer. Si
lair ne peut plus circuler, le moniteur peut être
gravement endommagé.

 Nutilisez pas de solvants pour nettoyer le

moniteur, cela pourrait endommager le boîtier.
Pour plus dinformations sur le nettoyage du
moniteur, consultez le paragraphe «Entretien de
votre moniteur».

Nouvrez jamais vous-même le moniteur, vous
pourriez être électrocuté. Ce moniteur ne doit
être ouvert et réparé que par des professionnels
qualifiés.

Le moniteur LCD ne doit être alimenté que par
lalimentation secteur qui laccompagne.

Note sur la mise en place du moniteur

 Lemplacement choisi pour linstallation ne doit

être ni trop chaud, ni trop froid, ni humide ou
poussiéreux. La chaleur et le froid peuvent
altérer les fonctionnalités du moniteur.
Lhumidité et la poussière peuvent le mettre hors
service.

 Ne placez pas le moniteur à proximité dune

source de chauffage, par exemple un radiateur.
Nexposez pas le moniteur à des vibrations
mécaniques ou à des secousses.

 Positionnez le moniteur de façon à protéger

lécran de la lumière directe ou du soleil: la
lumière directe peut provoquer des réflexions
nuisibles à la qualité de limage.

Notes sur le raccordement à lalimentation
électrique

Nutilisez que le type de cordon secteur destiné
à être utilisé dans votre pays.

La prise dalimentation murale doit être aisément
accessible. La seule façon de débrancher le
moniteur de la source dalimentation électrique
consiste à débrancher le cordon secteur.

Le moniteur LCD possède une taille réelle en diagonale de 15" (38,1 cm). Du point
de vue de lutilisateur, pour lequel seul compte la taille réelle de limage affichée, il
est donc comparable à un moniteur standard de 17". La résolution maximale du
moniteur est de 1024 x 768 pixels.

Ce moniteur se synchronise automatiquement sur toutes les fréquences horizontales
comprises entre 30 et 62 kHz, ainsi que sur toutes les fréquences verticales comprises
entre 50 et 75 Hz.

Le moniteur est équipé dun panneau de contrôle en face avant, avec 16 modes
mémorisés (11 mémoires préréglées en usine et 5 modes programmables par
lutilisateur), ainsi que des contrôles numériques vous permettant dajuster facilement
les divers paramètres daffichage et de colorimétrie.

Le moniteur LCD possède une consommation électrique inférieure de 50% à celle
dun moniteur ordinaire en fonctionnement normal. De plus, il est compatible EPA,
ce qui diminue encore plus la consommation électrique lorsquil nest pas en usage
actif (< 3 Watts).

Le moniteur LCD ne mesure que 15,2 cm de profondeur, ce qui signifie quil occupe
très peu despace  et laisse ainsi plus de place disponible sur votre bureau.

Ce moniteur est équipé dun système interne de haut-parleurs stéréo actifs
(amplificateur: 1W sous 8 ohms / 1 kHz - 15 kHz, haut-parleurs : puissance crête 2W,
puissance nominale 1W) qui peut être connecté à votre carte son.

Ce moniteur émet un rayonnement inférieur à la norme TCO 99.

RACCORDEMENT

➧ Connectez le câble du signal vidéo ......................

1. Assurez-vous que lordinateur et lécran à cristaux

liquides sont débranchés.

2. Raccordez le câble VGA au connecteur VGA de

votre moniteur (



à la fig. 2) et à votre ordinateur.

Soulevez avec douceur le moniteur de son emballage,
et vérifiez que tous les accessoires sont présents (voir
figure 1).

Conservez le carton original et les matériaux
demballage, au cas où vous devriez expédier ou
transporter le moniteur.

DÉBALLAGE

Pour utiliser le moniteur avec Windows

®

9x/ME/2000 ou
XP, il est fortement recommandé dinstaller le fichier de
configuration de Belinea. Vous pouvez lobtenir de votre
revendeur Belinea ou le télécharger sur le site FTP de
MAXDATA à ladresse ftp.maxdata.com.
Cliquez sur le répertoire Belinea_Treiber_Driver et
téléchargez les fichiers Belinea.inf et
README_Berlinea.TXT. Suivez les instructions
dinstallation du fichier README_Belinea.TXT.

NT 4.0, il nest pas nécessaire dutiliser
un fichier dinstallation séparé. Sélectionnez la
fréquence verticale et le nombre de couleurs
daffichage, en cliquant tour à tour sur le menu
Paramètres à Panneau de configuration à
Affichage à Paramètres.

CONFIGURATION DE BASE

➧ Réglage automatique de limage ..........................

Vous pouvez ajuster les paramètres de limage
(luminosité, contraste, position de limage, phase, etc)
manuellement ou à laide des fonctionnalités de réglage
automatique de limage. Ces fonctions règlent les
paramètres généraux de limage à leurs valeurs
optimales en fonction du mode daffichage an cours.
Appuyez sur cette touche AUTO (



à la fig. 4) pour
exécuter un réglage automatique. Ce processus dure
quelques instants.

➧ Réglage direct du contraste ..................................

Pour sélectionner automatiquement le contraste
optimal, appuyez sur la touche

( à la fig. 4) pendant

que le menu OSD est fermé.

RÉGLAGE DE LIMAGE DANS LE MENU OSD

Le menu OSD est une fenêtre qui apparaît sur votre
écran pour vous permettre de vérifier et modifier les
paramètres daffichage. Pour modifier un paramètre
avec lOSD:

1. Appuyez sur la touche MENU (



à la fig. 4) pour

afficher le menu OSD à lécran.

2. Il existe 9 sous-menus différents au sein de lOSD.

Ils sont organisés par catégories. Sélectionnez le
sous-menu désiré en appuyant sur le bouton de
lOSD

ou (voir à la section suivante «Fonctions

du menu OSD»).

3. Appuyez sur le bouton MENU de lOSD pour activer

la fonction ou le sous-menu.

4. Dans le cas dun sous-menu, choisissez ensuite la

sous-fonction désirée à laide de la touches

ou

de lOSD, puis appuyez sur le bouton MENU.

5. Sélectionnez le réglage désiré à laide des boutons

ou du menu OSD.

6. Appuyez à nouveau sur le bouton MENU pour

enregistrer les réglages. Si nécessaire, répétez les
étapes 2 à 5 pour procéder à des réglages
supplémentaires.

7. Le menu OSD disparaît automatiquement si aucune

modification nest effectuée dans un délai de 30
secondes. Les réglages courants sont alors
enregistrés. Vous pouvez aussi fermer
manuellement lOSD en appuyant sur la touche EXIT.

FONCTIONS DU MENU OSD

CONTRAST

Modifie le contraste.

AUTO-CONTRAST

Permet de sélectionner automatiquement le
contraste approprié à limage.

AUTO-SYNC

Sélectionne automatiquement les réglages optimaux
pour les paramètres de limage (luminosité, contraste,
position de limage, phase, etc).

BRIGHTNESS

Modifie la luminosité.

COLOR

Dans ce menu, appuyez sur le bouton ou de lOSD
pour choisir lun des modes sélectionnés (mode
présélectionné 1 ou mode présélectionné 2). La
température de couleur choisie est immédiatement
appliquée à lécran. Pour définir individuellement les
niveaux des couleurs primaires , sélectionnez loption
R, V ou B (rouge, vert et bleu) et utilisez les boutons
de lOSD

ou pour définir le niveau désiré. Lorsque

la colorimétrie vous convient, sélectionnez loption
Menu principal puis appuyez sur le bouton MENU.

LCD ADJUST

PC/MAC: Indiquez ici si le moniteur est connecté

à un PC ou à un Macintosh.
H SIZE: Permet de régler la taille horizontale

(amplitude) de limage.
H-POSITION: Permet de régler la position

horizontale.
V-POSITION: Permet de régler la position

verticale.

FINE TUNE: Permet de régler avec précision la
position horizontale et verticale.

AUTO-SYNC: Sélectionne automatiquement les
réglages optimaux pour les paramètres de
limage (luminosité, contraste, position de
limage, phase, etc).

MAIN MENU: Permet de revenir au menu
principal.

LANGUAGE

Sélection du langage utilisé pour le menu OSD:
Anglais, Français, Allemand, Italien, Espagnol.

MISC

H-OSD POSITION: Permet de régler la

position horizontale du menu OSD.
V-OSD POSITION: Permet de régler la

position verticale du menu OSD.
SMOOTHING: Adoucit les contours de limage

pour tous les modes graphiques inférieurs à

< 1024 x 768 pixels. En particulier, ce réglage

optimise la lisibilité du texte.

INVISIBLE: Rend le fond de lOSD invisible.
INFORMATION: Affiche la résolution

courante, ainsi que la fréquence horizontale et
verticale (aucune modification possible).

RECALL: Permet de rappeler les réglages
définis en usine pour tous les paramètres de
limage.

MAIN MENU: Permet de revenir au menu
principal.

EXIT

Ferme le menu de lOSD.

 Commencez toujours par débrancher le câble

dalimentation de la prise électrique.

 Si le moniteur est extrêmement sale, utilisez un

chiffon humidifié à leau chaude, et essuyez ensuite
le moniteur LCD. Les solvants et autres produits
nettoyants pourraient endommager le boîtier. Ne
nettoyez la surface daffichage quà laide dun tissu
doux et non pelucheux, faute de quoi vous pourriez
endommager le revêtement de lécran.

 Si le moniteur LCD est peu sale, nettoyez-le à laide

dun chiffon antistatique sec et non pelucheux.

 La surface de lécran du moniteur LCD est très

fragile. Veillez à éviter tout contact avec cette
surface (doigt, crayon, etc.), et soyez tout
particulièrement prudent durant un transport, car
les heurts et les chocs peuvent provoquer
lapparition de rayures sur lécran (utilisez toujours
lemballage dorigine).

MODES GRAPHIQUES PRÉSÉLECTIONNÉS ET DÉFINIS PAR
LUTILISATEUR

Le tableau suivant présente les modes graphiques
présélectionnés en usine, leurs résolutions et leurs
fréquences. Pour tous ces modes graphiques, les
réglages dimage (largeur, hauteur, position, etc.) sont
configurés à leur valeur optimale.

Vous pouvez enregistrer jusquà 5 réglages
supplémentaires. Si vous utilisez une résolution

différente, ou lune des résolutions indiquées avec une
autre fréquence, vous pouvez ajuster limage jusquà
ce quelle soit parfaite. Si vous revenez à cette
résolution après avoir changé de mode (en lançant le
même logiciel par exemple), les valeurs de taille
dimage, position, etc., que vous avez enregistrées
seront rappelées automatiquement (le moniteur «se
souvient» de vos réglages).

MONTAGE MURAL

Le moniteur Belinea est expédié en configuration standard de bureau. Toutefois, vous pouvez le fixer sur un mur ou
sur un bras pivotant pour moniteur avec un accessoire en option. Respectez les instructions de fixation du standard
international VESA FPMPMI (plaquette comportant quatre perforations de 75 x 75 mm).

RÉSOLUTION DES PROBLÈMES

Écran noir

Lindicateur de mise sous tension est éteint

- Assurez-vous que lalimentation secteur et son câble sont connectés correctement (voir la section
«Raccordement»).

- Vérifiez que le moniteur a été allumé à laide du bouton de mise sous tension (voir la section «Mise en route»).

Lindicateur de mise sous tension est allumé en orange

- Le PC est-il lui-même sous tension (voir la section «Fonctions de gestion de lénergie»)?

- Le PC est-il lui-même sous tension (voir sa documentation)?

Lindicateur de mise sous tension est allumé en vert

- Un programme décran de veille a peut-être été activé automatiquement après une certaine période dinactivité.
Appuyez sur une touche du clavier de lordinateur, ou déplacez la souris.

Message No Signal

- Le câble du signal vidéo est-il correctement connecté au moniteur et au connecteur VGA du PC(voir la section
«Raccordement»)?

- Le PC est-il lui-même sous tension (voir sa documentation)?

Problèmes daffichage

Limage est décalée vers la gauche ou la droite, vers le haut ou vers le bas.

- Si limage est affichée normalement mais nest pas centrée correctement, vous pouvez ajuster sa position à laide
des fonctions de lOSD. Consultez le chapitre «Configuration de base», section «Réglage automatique de
limage», ou le chapitre «LCD Adjust», section «Fonctions du menu OSD», pour plus dinformations.

Limage scintille ou est instable

- Le fichier de configuration choisi pour le moniteur nest peut-être pas le bon. Pour toutes informations sur la
configuration du moniteur sous Windows

®

9x/ME/2000 ou XP, consultez la section «Configuration».

Limage est floue

- Vérifiez les réglages de luminosité et de contraste (consultez le chapitre Fonctions du menu OSD, à la section
«Contrast» et «Brightness».

- Vérifiez les valeurs de Fine Tune et Auto-Sync (consultez les sections appropriées dans le chapitre Fonctions
du menu OSD).

Problèmes de couleur

- Si les couleurs sont impures (par exemple, le blanc napparaît pas réellement blanc), réglez la température de
couleur (consultez le chapitre «Fonctions du menu OSD», à la section «Color»).

Ce moniteur est doté de fonctions de gestion de
lénergie aux standards EPA. Si la carte graphique de
votre ordinateur est compatible ou si lordinateur est
doté du logiciel approprié, la consommation électrique
du moniteur peut être automatiquement diminuée
lorsquil nest pas utilisé. Tant que le moniteur est en
mode déconomie dénergie, la diode témoin (voir



à

la fig. 4) est orange. Le monitor reprend
automatiquement son fonctionnement normal dès que
vous appuyez sur une touche du clavier ou déplacez
la souris.

You have just purchased a TCO99 approved and labelled product! Your choice has provided you with a product developed for professional use. Your
purchase has also contributed to reducing the burden on the environment and also to the further development of environmentally adapted electronics
products.

This product meets the requirements for the TCO99 scheme which provides for an international environmental and quality labelling of personal
computers. The labelling scheme was developed as a joint effort by the TCO (The Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees), Svenska
Naturskyddsforeningen (The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation), Statens Energimyndighet (The Swedish National Energy Administration) and
SEMKO AB.

The requirements cover a wide range of issues: environment, ergonomics, usability, reduction of electric and magnetic fields, energy consumption and
electrical safety.

Why do we have environmentally labelled computers?

In many countries, environmental labelling has become an established method for encouraging the adaptation of goods and services to the environment.
The main problem, as far as computers and other electronics equipment are concerned, is that environmentally harmful substances are used both in
the products and during their manufacture. Since it is not so far possible to satisfactorily recycle the majority of electronics equipment, most of these
potentially damaging substances sooner or later enter nature.

There are also other characteristics of a computer, such as energy consumption levels, that are important from the viewpoints of both the work (internal)
and natural (external) environments. Since all methods of electricity generation have a negative effect on the environment (e.g. acidic and climate­influencing emissions, radioactive waste), it is vital to save energy. Electronics equipment in offices is often left running continuously and thereby
consumes a lot of energy.

What does the environmenal labelling involve?

The environmental demands has been developed by Svenska Naturskyddsforeningen (The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation). These
demands impose restrictions on the presence and use of heavy metals, brominated and chlorinated flame retardants, CFCs (freons) and chlorinated
solvents, among other things. The product must be prepared for recycling and the manufacturer is obliged to have an environmental policy which must
be adhered to in each country where the company implements its operational policy.

The energy requirements include a demand that the computer and/or display, after a certain period of inactivity, shall reduce its power consumption to
a lower level in one or more stages. The length of time to reactivate the computer shall be reasonable for the user.

Environmental requirements

Flame retardants

Flame retardants are present in printed circuit boards, cables, wires, casings and housings. Their purpose is to prevent, or at least to delay the spread
of fire. Up to 30% of the plastic in a computer casing can consist of flame retardant substances. Most flame retardants contain bromine or chloride, and
those flame retardants are chemically related to another group of environmental toxins, PCBs. Both the flame retardants containing bromine or
chloride and the PCBs are suspected of giving rise to severe health effects, including reproductive damage in fish-eating birds and mammals, due to
the bio-accumulative

processes. Flame retardants have been found in human blood and researchers fear that disturbances in foetus development

may occur.

The relevant TCO99 demand requires that plastic components weighing more than 25 grams must not contain flame retardants with organically
bound bromine or chlorine. Flame retardants are allowed in the printed circuit boards since no substitutes are available.

Cadmium

**

Cadmium is present in rechargeable batteries and in the colour-generating layers of certain computer displays. Cadmium damages the nervous
system and is toxic in high doses. The relevant TCO99 requirement states that batteries, the colour-generating layers of display screens and the
electrical or electronics components must not contain any cadmium.

Mercury

**

Mercury is sometimes found in batteries, relays and switches. It damages the nervous system and is toxic in high doses. The relevant TCO99
requirement states that batteries may not contain any mercury. It also demands that mercury is not present in any of the electrical or electronics
components associated with the labelled unit. There is however one exception. Mercury is, for the time being, permitted in the back light system of flat
panel monitors as there today is no commercially available alternative. TCO aims on removing this exception when a mercury free alternative is
available.

CFCs (freons)

The relevant TCO99 requirement states that neither CFCs nor HCFCs may be used during the manufacture and assembly of the product. CFCs
(freons) are sometimes used for washing printed circuit boards. CFCs break down ozone and thereby damage the ozone layer in the stratosphere,
causing increased reception on earth of ultraviolet light with e.g. increased risks of skin cancer (malignant melanoma) as a consequence.

Lead

Lead can be found in picture tubes, display screens, solders and capacitors. Lead damages the nervous system and in higher doses, causes lead
poisoning. The relevant TCO´99 requirement permits the inclusion of lead since no replacement has yet been developed.
