designed to provide a lifetime of enjoyment. This manual will provide you with assembly

instructions and other helpful information to ensure that you get the most out of your

product. Please save it for future reference.

Your Stiletto Shelving has been engineered for simple assembly. Please follow these

directions carefully to prevent any damage.

STEP 2. PREPARE SET SCREW & BARREL AND PUSH INTO RUNGS

ASSEMBLY

Turn the (H2) Set Screws into the (H3) Barrels
one complete turn using the (T1) Combination
Screwdriver.

The point of the (H2) Set Screw should not be
visible when looking through the hole in the

(H3) Barrel.

NOTE: If the (H2) Set Screw is turned into the
(H3) Barrel too much it will prevent the (H1) Bolt
from sliding into the barrel.

Align dowels and bolt hole on the (C4) Rungs with the dowel holes and bolt on the (C1) Right Rail.

Push the (C4) Rung until it is tight into the (C1) Right Rail.

Align the (C2) Left Rail with all dowels and bolt holes on all (C4) Rungs. Carefully turn shelf ladder
onto the side of (C1) Right Rail.

in the location where you will tap with a hammer.

Tap on the (H6) Utility Block and (C2) Left Rail
with a hammer until (C2) Left Rail is tight with the

Screwdriver, tighten the (H2) Set Screws.

NOTE: Tighten the set screw completely on one rung
before moving to the next rung.

STEP 5. INSTALL SAFETY STRAPASSEMBLY

Stand the Shelf Ladder against the wall in the

desired location.

Ensure that both wall levelers are touching the

wall.

Adhere a piece of painter’s tape as the

illustration depicts.

Mark the wall 54 inches up from the floor and 4-1/8 in from the edge of the painters tape.
This mark will be the location of the wall anchor/fastener (NOT INCLUDED) to secure your safety
strap to the wall.

NOTE: This can be done on either side of the shelf.

Drill hole at this location for wall insert.

Choose Wall Anchor (not included) appropriate
for your wall type.

Insert Wall Anchor into the hole and attach

(H5) Safety Strap to the wall using Anchor
Mounting Screw (not included).

Use the (H6) Utility Block to locate the front of
the shelves.

With the front of the shelf facing you, tilt the shelf
slightly as you insert it into the ladder frame.

Set the shelf on the rung with the metal pucks nesting
into the holes in the (C4) Rung.

With the bottom shelf secured, slide the
shelf towards the wall until the back of the
shelf touches the wall.

Continue installing (C6), (C7), and (C9) Shelves
in the same manner.

NOTE: Each shelf should touch the wall. Do not
install the (C8) 2nd shelf from the top in this step.

Endless Possibilities

Stiletto can be configured in endless ways. Below are a few examples. Configurations up to 3 units
wide may be assembled on the floor, stood up, and carefully positioned. It is also possible to
assemble 1 unit, stand it up, and add additional units to it. Every configuration requires 1 base unit
(5701/5702) and then additional units (5701A/5702A). Base units come with 2 end rails, and each
add-on unit always includes 1 divider rail.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Your BDI furniture has been constructed with the finest materials, manufactured with care and is
designed to last a lifetime. Regular care of your furniture will prolong your enjoyment and keep it
looking its best. Here are some general tips for taking care of BDI furniture. Your surfaces may vary.

GLASS

The glass surface is maintained using household glass cleaner and a paper towel or cloth.

SATIN-ETCHED GLASS

This uniquely smooth-to-the-touch glass surface can be regularly maintained using household glass
cleaner and a paper towel or cloth. Minor scratches or scuffs not eliminated using paper towel or
cloth can usually be removed by using a ‘Magic Eraser’. Magic Eraser is a melamine foam product
available at any grocery store or home improvement center. Dampen the entire glass surface and the
Magic Eraser, then rub the entire glass surface in broad, even strokes using moderate pressure. Clean
and dry the surface with a paper towel. Check for results and repeat as necessary.

Any scratches or scuffing not eliminated by one of the above methods can often be addressed by
‘refreshing’ the glass. This is a process that should not be required more than once per 6-12 months.

WOOD

Wood surfaces should be cleaned with a slightly damp (not saturated) cloth or paper towel. Do not
use glass cleaner on wood. If moisture remains, dry the surface with another cloth. If needed, a
gentle non-abrasive cleanser may be used, but be sure to wipe away all cleaner residue and dry the
surface with a cloth.

BDI’s wood finishes feature natural hardwood solids and veneers. Wood is a product of nature and—
unlike man-made materials that can be manufactured to strict and consistent specifications—has
natural imperfections that are part of its appeal and character. Every piece of wood differs from
every other, even when coming from the very same tree. As such, variation in grain, texture and tone
should be expected from one panel or piece of furniture to the next.

While BDI’s stained wood finishes are stable in tone & appearance, all finishes are subject to some
degree of discoloration with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Please take care to avoid
positioning your BDI cabinet in any area with extensive direct sunlight. To learn more about the

WARRANTY

BDI warrants to the original purchaser that for the below-stated warranty term, BDI will repair or
replace any product, part, or component covered by this warranty that fails under normal use as a
result of a defect in material or workmanship. BDI will repair or replace the aforementioned product,
part or component with a comparable product, part or component. The decision to repair or replace
will be at BDI’s sole discretion.

receipt. The warranty period starts from the date of purchase. This warranty extends only to the
original purchasers who acquire new products from BDI Authorized Resellers. Any product, part,
or component must have been assembled, installed, used, and maintained according to BDI’s
published instructions to be eligible for warranty coverage. Any modification to the original
product voids the warranty.
