Your Totem Pedestal is engineered for easy assembly. Carefully follow
this procedure to prevent any damage.

Placement and Maintenance

Totem is designed for indoor use on level floors. Clean steel and glass
parts with a moist cloth.

Tools Needed: Phillips Screwdriver

Step 1

Unpack and identify the components at left and below. The assembly
workspace should be a non-marring surface such as carpet. For
missing hardware pieces, please contact BDI Customer Service at
[e-mail]. For all other concerns, please contact
your BDI Retailer.

Screw Leveler Glides (A7) into Base (E).

With the Vertical Column (F) laying on its back, attach Base (E)
using Screws (A8) and 5mm Allen Wrench (A2), provided in

Assembly Hardware Kit (A).

Step 4
Rest the Assembly on its side and finish attaching Base (E) to
Vertical Column (F) using Binding Post (A6) from the bottom of
Base (E) and remaining Screws (A8) from the top. Use both 5mm
Allen Wrenches (A2 and D4) to tighten screws.

Step 5
Place Pedestal upright and attach each Swiveling Bracket (G) to top of
Vertical Column (F) with Screws (A9) and 5mm Allen Wrench (A2).

NOTE: There are two (2) mounting-height positions to
choose from. In general, for larger TV’s (60” – 70”) select the
higher set of mounting holes, smaller TV’s (45”- 60”) select
the lower set of mounting holes.

Step 6

Peel film from side of Neoprene Strip (A10) and attach to the outer edge of
each Swiveling Bracket (G) as illustrated below.

Attach Horizontal Mounting Bracket (H) to installed Swiveling
Brackets (G) with Screws (A9) and 5mm Allen Wrench (A2).

NOTE: Slots along Horizontal Mounting Bracket (H)
must be at BOTTOM. Be sure to position Swiveling
Bracket (G) so that each sits within recessed portion of
the Horizontal Mounting Bracket (H). (Circled below)

Step 8

Position each Vertical Mounting Bracket (I) on back of TV and
attach using mounting screws and washers (if required) provided
in TV Mounting Kit (B). Each bracket must align vertically with
the other. Both can be raised or lowered on back of TV at 1”
increments.

NOTE: Various mounting screws
are provided in TV Mounting
Kit (B), but some TVs may

manufacturer to identify and
source your hardware.

With the help of another person, lift television with installed

Vertical Mounting Brackets (I) and lower carefully onto
Horizontal Mounting Bracket (H).

Step 10

Level the TV using the Leveling Discs (A5) near the slots in the
lower Horizontal Mounting Bracket (H). Then secure into place
using provided Flange Nut (A3).

Step 11
Install Speaker Bracket Arms (JL, JR) to Pedestal using
Screws (A4) and 4mm Allen Wrench (A1).

NOTE: There are several soundbar-height positions
to choose from on 2” increments. The soundbar
speaker should be located as close to the bottom
of the TV as possible when attached.

Step 12

Position Universal Speaker Bracket (K) on back of speaker
and attach using appropriate mounting screws and washers
provided in Soundbar Speaker Kit (C).

NOTE: Some speakers are not equipped with
inserts to be attached to the Universal Speaker
Bracket (K) and require the purchase of an
additional bracket supplied by the speaker
manufacturer.

Step 13
Loosely pre-install Screw (A9) into Universal Speaker Bracket
(K). Locate bodies of Screw (A9) into groove of Speaker
Bracket Arms (J) and tighten into place using 5mm Allen
Wrench (A2).

NOTE: If the speaker position is either too close or
too far away from the bottom of the TV, reposition
Speaker Bracket Arms (J) to get desired spacing.

Step 14
Install Shelf Arms (LL, LR) to Pedestal using Screws (D2) and
4mm Allen Wrench (D3), provided in Shelf Assembly Kit (D).

NOTE: There are several shelf-height positions
to choose from on 2” increments to create
appropriate clearance of components.

Install Glass Shelf (M) to Shelf Arms (LL, LR) using Screws
(D1) and 5mm Allen Wrench (D4). Ensure the BDI Label on
Glass Shelf (M) is oriented toward the back of the unit shown
in Fig. 15-1.

Step 16

Wires can be passed under the wire management tray of the
Vertical Column (F). A power strip can be placed on the wire man­agement tray of the Vertical Column (F).

Install Lower Cover Panel (O) with the magnetic strip towards
the top.
