Dodge/Jeep 4.7L Throttle Body
INS-086
Step 1
Raise hood and disconnect negative (–) battery terminal.
Step 2
Remove air duct from throttle body.
Step 3
Disconnect all hoses, electrical connectors, etc. from the stock throttle body.
Step 4
Disconnect throttle and any other cables attached to the throttle linkage.
Step 5
Step 6
Transfer the TPS and the IAC valve from the stock onto the BBK throttle body using the factory hardware and gasketing.
Step 7
Installation is the reverse of disassembly from the vehicle. Make sure the gasket is seated properly on the intake and is free of any debris etc.
Take great care in reinstalling the stock mounting hardware into the manifold, the screws self-tap into the plastic and must follow the same thread upon installation. If over tightened the plastic will strip, damaging the plastic intake manifold.
Step 8
After reinstalling the negative (–) terminal, start the vehicle using only the key (
no accelerator
) and allow to idle until up to full coolant operating temperature; this will allow the computer to establish the appropriate idle speed for the new throttle body.
