RS31.1 Surface Mount IR Receiver With Talk Back LED;

PDP/LCD Friendly and CFL Proof

PRODUCT INFORMATION AND INSTALLATION GUIDE

Product Specifications & Features

1. Surface mount IR receiver with Talk Back LED terminated with a 6.5 foot/2.0M length of
3/C ribbon cable. May be connected in parallel sequentially.

2. Infrared Frequency Bandwidth: 38KHz (± 2KHz); operates with most remotes.

3. Reception Distance On-Axis: Up to 50 feet indoor, 15 to 20 feet in direct sunlight. Range
depends on device being controlled and levels of IR and EMI interference.

4. Reception Off-Axis: Up to a distance of 20 feet at ±45 degrees.

5. Visible Blinking-Talk Back LED: Red LED indicator confirms receipt of IR codes.

6. Measurements: (LxWxH): 65 x 10 x 11 (mm) / 2.55 x 0.39 x 0.43 (inches)

7. Power requirement: 12VDC/500mA or higher Power Adapter.

Product Installation

1. Connect the RS31.1’s 3/C ribbon cable to the screw terminals of the C21, C41 or C61
connecting block. If necessary, remove about 1/4” of insulation from both ends of all wires
and twist the exposed strands together for termination to these products. Notes: “ V+” -12V
DC Power, “ G ” –Ground and “IR ” -IR signal. Please refer below for proper installation.
Double stick adhesive included for mounting

2. It is not recommended to connect without a connecting block or directly to a power adaptor.
Be sure the green LED illuminates on the C21, C41 or C61 when plugging in the power
adaptor.

3. The RS31.1 is PDP/LCD Friendly and CFL Proof; this IR Receiver can be installed within
inches of either a PDP/LCD or in Direct Sunlight and operate effectively!
