Product Construction
By methodically measuring the effects of room
size, building materials, furnishings, and
speaker placement on music reproduction, we
create products that sound great in any room of
your home. We’re pioneers in this field — the
first, and we believe, only speaker company to
focus entirely on designing speakers mindful of
the interaction of placement on room acoustics.
Only Bay Audio has on–board filters to opti-
mize the speaker for its intended placement.
Crossover Networks
We build the Pro Theater LCR
crossover with the finest electrical
components. For increased
transient response and clarity,
we use 500v bypass caps
in parallel with Solen capacitors
in the tweeter, midrange, and
bass unit circuit, plus 14 ga.
cable for all internal wiring.
Cabinetry
Our cabinets are constructed
from 1" medite and are finished
inside and out with an ash
veneer. Internal chambers separate the tweeter, midrange and
subwoofer section.
Electronics
We developed a unique 500w
class A/B digital amplifier mounted on the back panel of the cabinet. This amplifier stays cool and
doesn’t require ventilation, so the
speaker can be placed within
cabinetry.
Drivers
The Pro Theater LCR uses custom-built drivers, including a 1"
soft-dome tweeter, a long-throw

⁄4" midrange, and a massive 10"
bass unit. We designed the bass
unit with a dual voice coil for
increased power handling, and a
machined aluminum cone for
reduced distortion.

Boundary Tuning
Sound waves are tricky. They like to bounce
around objects they come in contact with.
Take a typical speaker and place it several
feet away from any walls or furniture. Sounds
good. Now move it back against a wall, or
worse, into a corner. You’ll hear a distinct
muffling of the sound. Most likely, vocal clarity
degrades, and bass becomes muddy. The Pro
Theater LCR has a variable electronic Pi
Space control to “normalize” placement,
regardless where they’re placed.
