Testing the Battery with the BCI
The Battery Condition Indicator (BCI) gives you a quick and accurate indication of your battery’s charge condition. It allows you to determine whether your battery needs to be charged, is not holding its charge, or needs to be replaced or desulfated.
Always let the battery rest for minimum of 8 hours for most accurate readings. Resting means that you do not charge, discharge or run the engine for the 8 hours. Test the battery with the BCI only when your engine is turned off.
Make sure the engine is turned off.
1. Press the Push button on the BCI.
2. See the table (next page) for an explanation of the lights.
3. If no LEDs are lit, the battery can be considered dead and unlikely
4. able to be restored.
