Installation Guide
Installing the Ethernet Switch in an X Cabinet Enclosure
1. Halt all watering while you install the Ethernet switch.
BaseStation 1000: Press the OFF button.
BaseStation 3200: Turn the dial to the OFF position.
2. Open the internal door of the BaseStation X cabinet enclosure.
4. On the right side of the cabinet, locate the 3 mounting pins on the inner wall.
5. Partially thread a screw into the lower mounting pin.
6. Locate the notch on the long edge of the Ethernet switch mounting plate, and then position the notch on the partially threaded screw.
7. Align the upper holes on the Ethernet switch mounting plate with the upper mounting pins, and secure the mounting plate with screws.
8. Tighten the screw in the notch.
9. If it isn’t already connected, attach the USB-style power connector to the Ethernet switch port labeled PWR INPUT.
10. Attach the other end of the USB-style power connector to either of the mini USB ports on the control board.
11. Attach an Ethernet cable to the communication module (such as a cell modem gateway or Ethernet radio) and to one of the ports on the Ethernet switch.
12. Attach another Ethernet cable to the Ethernet switch and to the back of the controller display.
13. In the third Ethernet port, connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet wall jack.
14. Reconnect the orange power connector to the board in order to restore power to the controller.
15. Verify that the LEDs on the communication module are illuminated.
16. Close the enclosure door, and then restart the controller.

Installing the Ethernet Switch in a Pedestal Enclosure
1. Halt all watering while you install the Ethernet switch.
BaseStation 1000: Press the OFF button.
BaseStation 3200: Turn the dial to the OFF position.
2. Open the front door of the BaseStation pedestal enclosure.
3. Find the orange power connector on the wires coming from the transformer. Gently pull the connector away from the board to disconnect the power.
4. Locate the 3 mounting pins on the back wall of the enclosure to the left of the control board.
5. Align the holes on the Ethernet switch mounting plate with the mounting pins, and secure the mounting plate with screws as shown in the illustration.
6. If it isn’t already connected, attach the USB-style power connector to the Ethernet switch port labeled PWR INPUT.
7. Attach the other end of the USB
-style power connector to either of the mini USB ports on the control board.
8. Attach an Ethernet cable to the communication module (such as a cell modem gateway or Ethernet radio) and to one of the ports on the Ethernet switch.
9. Attach another Ethernet cable to the Ethernet switch and to the back of the controller display.
10. In the third Ethernet port, connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet wall jack.
