Installation and operation
EN
Fig. 3
Place the appliance in a way making the connections easily accessible, so that they may be quickly disconnected if such a need arises.
The appliance should be placed on surfaces that are:
even, with sufficient bearing capacity, resistant to water, dry and resistant
to high temperatures;
– sufficiently large, and thus enabling usage of the appliance with no
problems;
easily accessible; well ventilated.
Maintain sufficient clearance from table edges. The appliance might turn over
and fall down.
Leave at least 10 cm clearance from flammable walls and items.
After installation, level the appliance using nuts on feet, by rotating counter-nuts
slightly clockwise to raise feet and counter-clockwise to lower them (Fig. below).
Power supply connection
Verify if technical data of the appliance (see rating plate) correspond with the local electric power grid specification.
Connect the appliance to a single, properly grounded mains socket with protective contact. Do not connect the appliance to a multi-socket.
The power cord should be laid in a way preventing anyone from threading on it or tripping against it.

5.2 Operation

wwwwf
Appliance Preparation / Assembly
1. Before use, clean the appliance and removable elements observing instructions in section 6 'Cleaning'.
2. Dry all washed elements and surfaces thoroughly.
3. Assemble the screw with the motor drive.
4. Then fix the column on the screw and screw it in tightly in the provided holder.
5. Fix the fountain's bottom plate to the column, and then the fountain's top plate with crown.
Suitable Chocolate
Any commercially available types of chocolates may be used in the chocolate fountain, provided the chocolate contains no solid ingredients, such us nuts, almonds or brittle that might block the screw during operation.
Especially suitable is couverture chocolate, as it contains more cocoa butter. The more cocoa butter, the better the liquid properties of chocolate.
The cocoa content should not be too high (max. 60%), as the higher the content, the worse the liquid properties of chocolate.
Before putting the chocolate in, crush it. The smaller the chocolate chunks, the faster the melting process goes.
The most suitable is the special chocolate for fondue and chocolate fountains, as it contains the perfect amount of cocoa butter and cocoa.
You require 2.5 kg of chocolate.
Melting Chocolate in the Appliance
1. Prepare the chocolate and place it in the bowl.
2. Connect the appliance to the power supply.
The red operation indicator light will be on.
3. In order to melt the chocolate in the bowl, the temperature controller should be rotated clockwise to the highest setting, until it engages.
The melting time is approx. 60 minutes. If the chocolate is sufficiently liquid, you may add a dash of edible oil (e.g. rapeseed oil or vegetable oil) and stir it with the chocolate mass using a spoon.
The basic principle: add approx. 150 ml of edible oil for 1 kg of chocolate.
900007 13 / 18
Page 16
Installation and operation
EN
NOTE! Chocolate mass must be liquid.
Initial Chocolate Melting
In order to shorten the chocolate melting time, you may use a pre-melted chocolate. When melting the chocolate, follow the instructions:
Melting in a microwave
1. Crush the chocolate to chunks.
2. Melt the chocolate in a container suitable for microwave ovens.
3. Next, add a suitable amount of edible oil and stir.
4. Connect the appliance and before filling the bowl with melted chocolate, heat it up for approx. 5 minutes.
Melting in a pot (directly with an edible oil)
1. Heat up suitable amount of edible oil at low heat level, using a saucepan with non-stick coating.
2. Add crushed chocolate and melt it, stirring it continuously.
The result must be a smooth mass.
3. Connect the appliance and before filling the bowl with melted chocolate, heat it up for approx. 5 minutes.
Melting in bain-marie
1. Heat up water in a saucepan (do not boil it!).
2. Put a bowl of a suitable size into the saucepan with heated-up water; make sure it does not come into contact with the bottom of the saucepan.
3. Put crushed chocolate in the bowl.
NOTE! Under no circumstance may the chocolate come in contact with water.
4. When the chocolate is fully melted, add the required amount of edible oil and stir with a spoon.
5. Connect the appliance and before filling the bowl with melted chocolate, heat it up for approx. 5 minutes.

1. Use a wooden spindle or a fondue fork to spike selected chunks for covering in chocolate.
2. Next, hold it under the flowing chocolate.
Fig. 4
NOTE! The appliance is ready for operation after installation and heating-up,
when chocolate in the bowl is fully liquid.
1. In order to activate the screw, rotate the function switch to 'I' position. The chocolate mixture is sucked up under the column and exits at the tip end of the
column, through the crown.
ATTENTION! With a suitably prepared mixture, a constant fountain flow is formed, and
the column is fully covered with chocolate. You may add liquid chocolate any time during operation.
Do not add any solid chunks of chocolate when the motor operates. They may block the screw and cause the appliance to malfunction.
Applying Chocolate
ATTENTION! To avoid malfunctions during operation or stopping the fountain flow
make sure that you:
do not allow chunks selected for covering to fall into the chocolate;
do not add chilled nor cold liquids into the chocolate;
use a fork or a spoon to immediately take out any chunks selected for
covering that might have fallen into the chocolate.
Finishing Operation
1. Rotate the switch to '0' position if you do not need to use the appliance any more.

The screw is switched off, and the chocolate flows down into the bowl.
2. To switch the heater off, rotate the temperature controller to the limit, counterclockwise.
3. Disconnect the appliance from the mains socket (pull the plug out) and wait for it to cool down.
4. When the chocolate is still liquid, pour it from the bowl into a suitable container in order to use it up later or remove the chocolate in garbage bins/plastic bags together with household wastes.
