This instruction manual contains information about installation, operation and
maintenance of the appliance and constitutes an important source of information
and reference guide. The knowledge of all operational and safety instructions
included in this manual is a prerequisite for safe and proper handling of the
appliance. Additionally, accident prevention, occupational health and safety, and
legal regulations in force in the area the appliance is used apply.
Before you start using the appliance, especially before turning it on, read this

1 Safety
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with technical standards

1.2Safety instructions
Electrical Current
• Too high a mains voltage or incorrect installation may cause electric shock.
• The appliance may be connected only if data on the rating plate correspond with
the mains voltage.
• To avoid short-circuit, the appliance should be kept dry.
• If there are malfunctions during operation, disconnect the appliance from the
power supply.
• Do not touch the appliance’s plug with wet hands.
• Never take hold of the appliance if it has fallen into water. Immediately
disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
• Any repairs or housing opening may be carried out by professionals and
relevant workshops only.
• Do not transport the appliance, holding it by the power cord.
• Do not allow the power cord to come into contact with heat sources or sharp

Flammable Materials
• Never subject the appliance to contact with high temperature sources, e.g.:
oven, furnace, open flame, heat generating devices, etc.
• To avoid fire hazard, clean the appliance regularly.
• Do not cover the appliance with, e.g., aluminium foil or cloths.
• Use the appliance only with materials designated to this end and with correct
temperature settings. Materials, groceries and left-overs remaining in the
appliance may catch fire.
• Never use the appliance near flammable or inflammable materials, e.g.: petrol,
spirit, alcohol, etc. High temperature triggers evaporation of these materials,
and, as a result of contact with sources of ignition, an explosion may occur.
• In case of fire, disconnect the appliance from the power supply before
attempting suitable fire-extinguishing actions.

2.1Liability and Warranty
All information and instructions in this instruction manual account for legal
regulations in force, current level of technical engineering knowledge as well as our
expertise and experience, developed over the years. If special models or additional
options are ordered, or state-of-the-art technical solutions were implemented, the
actual scope of delivery of the appliance may, in some circumstances, differ from
descriptions and numerous drawings in this instruction manual.
The manufacturer is not liable for any damages nor faults stemming from:
– failure to observe instructions,
– unintended use,
– technical alterations introduced by the user,
– usage of unapproved spare parts.
We reserve the right to introduce technical modifications to the product, intended for
improvement of the appliance and its performance.

Transport, Packaging and Storage

3 Transport, Packaging and Storage
3.1Delivery Check
Immediately upon reception, check the delivery for completeness and possible
shipping damage. In the case of visible transport damage refuse to accept the
appliance or accept it conditionally. Mark and note the scope of damage in shipping
documents/consignment list of the shipping company and lodge a complaint.
Concealed damage must be reported immediately upon its discovery, as
compensation claims may only be filed within applicable time limits.
If you find that parts or accessories missing, please contact our Customer Service
Department.
3.2 Packaging
Do not dispose of the appliance cardboard box. It may be used to store the
appliance when relocating or when shipping the appliance to our service point in the
case of any damages.
The packaging and its elements are made of recyclable materials. Particularly,
these are: plastic films and bags, cardboard box.
When disposing of the packaging, observe applicable domestic regulations.
Recyclable packaging materials should be recycled.
3.3 Storage
Leave the packaging closed until installation of the appliance; observe external
indications concerning method of placing and storage. Store the packaging in the
following conditions only:
– in closed rooms;
– in dry and dust-free surrounding;
– away from aggressive agents;
– in a location protected against sunlight;
– in a location protected against mechanical shocks.
In the case of extended storage (over three months), make sure you check the
condition of the packaging and the parts regularly. If needed, replace the packaging
with a new one.

4.2 Functions of the Appliance
The salamander with intelligent MDI control is intended for cooking au gratin,
roasting and keeping food warm thanks to efficient radiators located in the top
section of the appliance.
The heating power can be adjusted using the lowering function and through precise
digital temperature and time settings. A memory function and an acoustic signal
when the time expires ensure optimised working processes. The energy-saving Eco
mode allows food to be kept gently warm and saves costs.

bags and EPS.
5 Installation and operation
5.1Installation
Unpacking / Positioning
• Unpack the appliance, remove all external and internal packaging elements and
shipment safeguards.
• If the appliance is covered with a protective film, remove it. Remove the film
slowly, so no glue residues are left. Remove any glue residues with the use of a
suitable solvent.
• Be careful not to damage the rating plate and warning labels fixed on the
appliance.
• Never place the appliance in humid or wet environment.
• Place the appliance in a way making the connections easily accessible, so that
they may be quickly disconnected if such a need arises.
• The appliance should be placed on surfaces that are:
– even, with sufficient bearing capacity, resistant to water, dry and resistant
to high temperatures;
– sufficiently large, and thus enabling usage of the appliance with no
problems;
– easily accessible;
– well ventilated.
• Maintain sufficient clearance from table edges. The appliance might turn over
and fall down.
• Keep minimum distance from flammable walls and objects; maintain clearance
of 10 cm at both sides and 20 cm at the rear.

WARNING
Risk of burning!
The appliance and food containers heat up considerably during
operation.
To remove the food, always use dish-washing cloth or oven mitts that are
resistant to high temperatures.
The grill grate and grease collection tray heat up considerably during
preparation of food.
Before emptying and cleaning them wait until the grill grate and grease
collection tray cool down.
After the appliance has been switched off it remains hot for a longer
time.
Before cleaning, leave the appliance to cool down.
Never relocate the operating appliance.
ATTENTION!
Direct preparation of food on grill grate may cause damage to the
appliance.
Always use suitable utensil/container, resistant to high temperatures.
The surface of the appliance may be damaged if it comes into contact
with concentrated acids, vinegar essence, kitchen salt solution,
seasoning mixtures.
If possible, such soilings should be wiped out immediately.
Power supply connection
• Verify if technical data of the appliance (see rating plate) correspond with the
local electric power grid specification.
• Connect the appliance to a single, properly grounded mains socket with
protective contact. Do not connect the appliance to a multi-socket.
• The power cord should be laid in a way preventing anyone from threading on it
or tripping against it.

Before First Use
1. Prior to first operation, clean the appliance and its equipment observing
instructions in section 6 'Cleaning'.
2. The appliance and entire equipment must be thoroughly dried.
3. Insert the grease collection tray.
4. Place the grill grate on the grease collection tray.
ATTENTION!
Grease and left-over food may enter the appliance.
The grease collection tray must always be inserted during operation.
• Prior to operation, clean the appliance an d its equipment observing instructions in section 6 'Cleaning'. Make sure no water enters electric installation a nd connection box. Dry the appliance a nd equipment thoroughly!
• Insert the bottom cover into the appliance. The cover acts as a spacer between the heating element and left-over f ood tray.
• Carefully insert the connection box with th e heating element at the back edge of t he appliance. A pin in the bottom part o f the connection box must enter a hole in the main appliance. Next, s et the connection box in the right positio n.
Control Elements
The salamander is operated with 3 control elements:
– ON/OFF switch
– Push rotary time control knob (at the left side of the control panel)
– Push rotary temperature control knob (at the right side of the control
panel)
Design of the Push Rotary Control Knobs
The push rotary control knobs are integrated with digital displays that allow reading
the set (used the most recently) time and heating level.
Indicator lights evidence the operating modes.

1. Heating without timer
The heating levels (1–10) are set using the
push rotary temperature control knob (on the
right side of the operating panel:
– heating level '0' means that the heating is
permanently off,
– heating level '10' means that the heating is
permanently on,
– at intermediate levels the heating switches
on and off in different switching patterns.

2. Heating with timer
The duration of work of the appliance is set
with the push rotary time control knob (at the
left side of the control panel).
The time can be set between 0.10 and 9.30
minutes.
The timer is activated via pressing the time
control knob.

Settings
The salamander heating operates independently of the appliance's timer, which
means that the heating element can run continuously and does not switch off after
the set time has elapsed.
The salamander features 3 operating modes:
The set time counts down until '0' appears on the digital display of the push rotary
time control knob.
During this time, the power can still be varied at will by rotating the pressed push
rotary temperature control knob.
When the time has elapsed, an acoustic signal is heard, which must be
acknowledged by pressing the push rotary time control knob.
The acoustic signal goes off and the appliance automatically switches to ECO
mode.

3. ECO mode
By pressing the push rotary temperature control
knob during operation, the user switches to ECO
mode. 'ECO' appears on the digital display and the
output of the salamander is reduced to save
energy. This setting is comparable to 'Level 2' and
is used for keeping food warm.

3. Use the handle to lift the top of the
appliance upwards.
4. Place the prepared food in a suitable
containers (plates, bowls, baking trays,
etc.) on the grill grate and under the
radiator heating element.
5. Then, lower down the upper part of the
appliance with the integrated radiator so
that the required distance from the food
surface is left.

When the appliance is in Eco mode, you can
– by pressing the push rotary temperature control knob you can switch
back to Heating without timer mode,
– by pressing the push rotary time control knob you can switch back to
Heating with timer mode.

Food Preparation
1. Plug the appliance into a suitable single socket.
2. Switch the appliance on with the ON/OFF switch.
The green power indicator light in the switch will be lit and will remain on during the
entire working process.
6. Make sure the food does not come in contact with radiator heating element.
NOTE!
This distance may be modified any time according to needs by moving the
upper part of the appliance upwards or downwards. The upper part of the
appliance stays in the selected position.
7. Select a heating level using the push rotary temperature control knob:

– for baking and grilling — the highest heating level 10,
– for warming up — lower heating levels,
– for keeping warm and to save energy — ECO mode.
During heating, the orange indicator light of the push rotary temperature control
knob lights up. As soon as the set temperature is reached, the indicator light goes
off.
8. Use the push rotary time control knob to set the time required for food between
0.10 and 9.30 min.
9. To activate the timer, push the push rotary time control knob.
The set time is counted down in 1-second increments, until '0.00' is displayed.
When the set time has elapsed, an acoustic signal is heard, which must be
acknowledged by pressing the push rotary time control knob.
10. When the food is ready, lift up the top part of the appliance using the handle to
safely remove the ready food.
11. Remove the ready food in containers from the grill grate, using dish-washing
cloths or doilies and serve.
Switching the Appliance OFF
1. If the appliance is no longer in use, rotate the push rotary control knobs to '0'
positions.
2. Switch the appliance off with the ON/OFF switch.
3. Disconnect the appliance from power supply (pull the plug out).
Grease Collection Tray / Grill Grate
The appliance is equipped with grease collection tray and grill grate.
1. Observe the grease collection tray during operation.
2. Empty the grease collection tray if necessary.
WARNING!
The grill grate and grease collection tray heat up considerably during
preparation of food.
Before removing the grease collection tray and grill grate from the appliance and
cleaning them, leave them to cool down.
3. Clean the grease collection tray and grill grate observing instructions in the
'Cleaning' section.
4. Dry the components thoroughly before you re-insert them in the appliance.

6 Cleaning
6.1Safety Instructions for Cleaning
• Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
• Leave the appliance to cool down completely.
• Make sure water does not enter the appliance. Do not immerse the appliance in
water or other liquids during cleaning. Do not clean the appliance with a
pressurized water jet.
• Do not use any sharp or pointed, nor metal implements (knife, fork, etc.). Sharp
or pointed implements may damage the appliance, and when in contact with live
parts, they may cause electric shock.
• For cleaning, do not use any scouring agents that contain solvents nor corrosive
cleaning agents. They may damage the surface.
6.2 Cleaning
1. At the end of a working day clean the appliance thoroughly.
2. Remove the grease collection tray and the grill grate from the appliance.
3. Remove the grill grate from the grease collection tray.
4. Empty the grease collection tray.
5. Wash the grill grate and grease collection tray with a warm water and a dash of
a mild cleaning agent. Use a soft cloth, sponge or dish-washing brush.
6. Thoroughly rinse the cleaned elements in fresh water.
7. Clean the appliance housing and lift with a commercially available surface
cleaning and de-greasing agent.
NOTE!
Observe instructions of such a cleaning agent's manufacturer.
8. Dry the cleaned surfaces thoroughly with a clean cloth.
9. Finally, dry all cleaned parts and surfaces with a soft cloth.
10. Wipe the power cord with a slightly damp cloth only.
11. Regularly check the appliance ventilation openings, and if soiled, clean them
with a dry dish-washing plastic brush.
12. Re-insert the grease collection tray with grill grate in the appliance.
