If there is a ny reason to suspec t that the safet y of the device has bee n compromised, i t
must be wi thdrawn from use an d removed from any e x-hazardous ar eas immediately.
Measures m ust be taken to preve nt any accidental re starting of the d evice.
The safe ty of the device may b e compromised if, f or example:
Malfunctions occur.
The housi ng of the device sho ws damage.
The devi ce has been subjec ted to excessive l oads.
The devi ce has been store d improperly.
Markin gs or labels on the de vice are illegib le.
It is recomm ended that a devi ce which shows or whic h is suspected of f aults and
damages is returned BARTEC Gm bH for inspection.
EX-RELEVANT SAFETY REGULATIONS
Use of this de vice assumes that th e operator obser ves the convention al safety
regulat ions and has read and u nderstood man ual, safety ins tructions and ce rticate.
The foll owing safety re gulations must al so be complied wi th:
Inside ex- hazardous ar eas the cover of the USB in terface has to be cl osed.
To ensure the IP pr otection, it ha s to be ensured that al l gaskets are pres ent and
functi onal. There mus t be no large gap be tween the two ha lves of the housing .
The devi ce may only be charge d outside ex-ha zardous areas u sing the USB cable
with i.s afe PROTECTOR or o ther equipment a pproved by BARTE C GmbH.
USB-co nnections to ot her equipment a re only allowed ou tside ex-haz ardous
areas usin g the USB cable with i .safe PROTECTO R or other equipm ent approved
by BARTEC G mbH.
The devi ce may be charged onl y at temperature s in between 5 °C … 35 °C.
The devi ce must not be exp osed to abrasive a cids or bases.
The devi ce must not be taken i nto zones 0 or 20.
Only accessories approved by BARTEC Gmb H may be used.
FURTHER SAFETY ADVISES
Do not touc h the screen of the d evice with sharp ob jects. Dus t particles and n ails
may scratch t he screen. Pleas e maintain the scr een clean. Remo ve dust on the scree n
with a sof t cloth gently, and do n ot scratch the scre en.
Charge the device under indoor conditions only.

lead to hea ting of the batte ry, resulting in r e or explosion .
Do not charge the device near any ammable or explosive substances.
Do not char ge the device in envi ronments with mu ch dust, humidit y, or excessively

Do not use th e device in areas wh ere regulations o r legislatives p rohibit the use.
Do not exp ose the device or ch arger to strong ma gnetic elds, s uch as are emitte d
from induction ovens or microwaves.
Do not att empt to open or rep air the device. Imp roper repair or o pening can lead t o
the destruction of the device, re or explosion. Only authorized personnel are allowed
to repair th e device.
Only use a ccessories appr oved by BARTEC Gmb H.
Power o the d evice in hospital s or other places wh ere the use of mobi le devices
is prohib ited. This devic e may aect prop er work of medica l equipment, suc h
as pacemak ers, so always kee p a distance of at lea st 15 cm between the de vice
and these d evices.
Obser ve all correspon ding laws that are in fo rce in the respec tive countries re garding
the use of de vices while oper ating a vehicle.
Please po wer o the device and d isconnect the U SB cable with i.s afe PROTECTOR
before c leaning the devi ce.
Do not use any c hemical cleani ng agents to clean t he device or the acce ssories.
Use a damp and a nti-static so ft cloth for clea ning.
Do not disc ard old and aband oned batteri es into the trash, se nd them to designa ted
waste disp osal locatio ns or return them to BA RTEC GmbH.

MAINTENANCE/REPAIR
Please not e any legal require ments for perio dic inspecti on.
The devi ce itself has no use r-serviceabl e parts. It is rec ommended to per form
inspec tions according to t he safety regu lations and advis es.
If there is a p roblem with the de vice, please cont act your vendor or c onsult the serv ice
center. If your d evice is in need of re pair, you can either co ntact the ser vice center or
your vendor.
BAT TERY
The bat tery in this devic e is not removable by t he user. The batter y is not fully char ged
when the d evice is purchased , but it contains eno ugh energy to powe r on the device.
To obtain bes t battery per formance and ba ttery life, le t the battery di scharge comple -
tely before charging it completely for the rst three charging cycles.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
Connec t the USB cable with i. safe PROTECTO R with the USB connec tor at the back
of the devi ce. A further ada pter may be necessa ry here. Connec t the other side of t he
USB cable w ith i.safe PROTEC TOR with the USB char ging adapter.
After ch arging, remove the U SB cable with i.sa fe PROTECTOR.
BAT TERY U SE
In actua l use the run time of th e device varies wi th the working env ironment and usa ge.
Please cha rge low batter y; otherwise yo u may lose any les whic h are not saved.
WARNI NG
The devi ce may only be charge d at ambient temper atures in a range fr om 5 °C … 35 °C.
Please do n ot use charging equ ipment if the tempe rature exceeds t his range.
I.SAFE PROTECTOR
The devi ce contains specia lly designed saf ety circuits .
Connec ting the device to no n-ex-approve d equipment like a co mputer can endan -
ger the sa fety of the devic e, as faults in the non -approved equi pment could lead to a
power surg e into the device larg e enough to destro y the safety circ uits.
The USB cab le with i.safe PR OTECTOR is for conn ecting the dev ice with non-e x-
approved equ ipment. It contain s additional saf ety circuits to p rotect the devi ce from
possible faults in the non-ex-approved equipment.
For this rea son, charging and US B-connect ions are only allow ed using the USB cabl e
with i.s afe PROTECTOR .

POWERING ON AND OFF THE RFID X IS
To powering ON t he device, press the [O n/O Key] .
The scre en lights up and the d evice is in running or der.
For power ing O the device, pr ess the [On/O Key].
The displ ay indicates a 3 seco nd countdown and tur n o.
READ OF TRANSPONDERS
Hold the to p of the device near to a t ransponder and m ake a short press o n [Key 1] .
If the tran sponder can be re ad, the display will i ndicate the trans ponder type a nd
the UID and t he device gives a sho rt vibrate.
If there is n o transponder in r eading area, the di splay will indicat e “NO TAG ” vibrate
in a longer sequence.
The RFID X I S will indicate automatically supported transponders as follows:

HF 13,56 MHz
UHF 860 M Hz
BLUETOOTH CONNECTION
Turn the RFID X I S ON [On/O Key]. Press [Key 2] f or turn On and O the B luetooth
functi on. For pairing wi th other devices pu sh and hold [Key 2]. T he Display will
indicate “ Pairing Bluetooth …” and afte r successful pair ing the RFID X IS will b e listed
as RNB T-E5D5 in paired Blue tooth device.
The displ ay of the RFID X IS will i ndicate “End of pairing”. For existing co nnection
the displ ay of the RFID X IS indic ate a BT icon top right . For lost connect ion the BT
icon will be framed.
READ TRANSPONDERS ON PC OR ANDROID™ DEVICE
For readin g the transponde rs via Bluetoot h you have to install “WIND OWS
TIDMULTIPEN V.1.x” on PC. For A ndroid device ins tall the applica tion
“TECTUS MultiPen” available on Google Play™ Store.
HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICE (HID)
Powering O and connect the R FID X IS with the de livered USB cable w ith i.safe
PROTECTO R to the USB port on yo ur PC. The display o f the RFID X IS lights u p and
indicate a n USB icon on top right of t he display.
Open an E xcel sheet and read a t ransponder. The U ID of the transpon der
will be imp orted automat ically to any positi on of cursor on PC .
REC YCLING
The cross ed-out whe eled-bin sy mbol on your produ ct, batter y, literature,
or packaging r eminds you that all el ectrical and e lectronic pro ducts, bat teries,
and accumu lators must be take n to separate colle ction at the end of t heir
workin g life. This requir ement applies in th e European Union. D o not dispose
of these pr oducts as unso rted municipal w aste.
Always ret urn your used ele ctronic produ cts, batteri es, and packagi ng materials
to dedica ted collectio n points. This way yo u help prevent unco ntrolled waste
disposa l and promote the re cycling of materi als.

FEHLER UND UNZULÄSSIGE BELASTUNGEN
Sobald z u befürchten ist , dass die Sicherhe it des Gerätes bee inträchtigt wur de,
muss das Gerät außer Betrieb genommen und sofort aus explosionsgefährdeten
Bereichen entfernt werden. Die unbeabsichtigte Wiederinbetriebnahme muss
verhindert werden.
Die Gerätesicherheit kann gefährdet sein, wenn z. B.:
Fehlfunktionen auftreten.
Am Gehäuse des Geräts Beschädigungen erkennbar sind.
Das Gerät übermäßigen Belastungen ausgesetzt wurde.
Das Gerät unsachgemäß gelagert wurde.
Beschriftungen auf dem Gerät nicht mehr lesbar sind.
Wir empfehlen ein Gerät, welches Fehler zeigt, oder bei dem Fehler vermutet werden,
zu einer Üb erprüfung an di e BARTEC GmbH zurückzusenden.
EX-RELEVANTE SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN
Die Benutzung des Geräts setzt beim Anwender die Beachtung der üblichen Sicher-
heitsvorschriften und das Lesen der Bedienungsanleitung, der Sicherheitshinweise
und des Zertikates voraus, um Fehlbedienungen am Gerät auszuschließen.
Folgende Sicherheitsvorschriften müssen zusätzlich beachtet werden:
Die USB-Abdeckung des Gerätes muss bei Verwendung in Ex-Bereichen vollständig
geschlossen sein.
Um den IP-Schutz zu gewährleisten, ist sicherzustellen, dass alle Dichtungen am
Gerät ordnungsgemäß vorhanden sind. Zwischen den beiden Gerätehälften darf
kein größerer Spalt erkennbar sein.
Das Gerät d arf nur außerh alb explosions gefährdeter B ereiche über da s USB-Kabel mi t
i.safe PR OTECTOR oder a nderes von BARTE C GmbH freigegebenes Zubehör geladen
werden.
USB-Da tenverbindunge n sind nur über das USB -Kabel mit i .safe PROTEC TOR oder
anderes von BARTEC GmbH freigegebenes Zubehör erlaubt.
Das Gerät d arf nur bei Umge bungstemper aturen zwisch en 5 °C … 35 °C

Das Gerät darf keinen aggressiven Säuren oder Basen ausgesetzt werden.

WEITERE SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
Berühre n Sie das Display nic ht mit scharfk antigen Gege nständen. Stau b und
Schmutz oder Ihre Fingernägel können die Displayscheibe zerkratzen. Bitte halten
Sie die Displayscheibe sauber, indem Sie diese regelmäßig mit einem weichen
Stotuch reinigen.
Laden Si e das Gerät nur in tro ckenen Innenrä umen.
Setzen Sie das Gerät keinen hohen Temperaturen aus, da dadurch der Akku überhit-
zen kann, w as zu Feuer oder im s chlimmsten Fall zu ei ner Explosio n führen kann.
Laden Si e das Gerät nicht in d er Nähe von brennb aren oder expl osiven Substanz en.
Laden Si e das Gerät nicht in f euchter, staubige r oder zu warmer o der zu kalter
Umgebung.
Benutz en Sie das Gerät nic ht an Orten, wo das B enutzen verb oten ist.
Setzen Sie das Gerät oder das Zubehör keinen starken elektrischen Magnetfeldern
aus, wie sie z. B. von Induktionsherden oder Mikrowellenöfen ausgehen.
Önen Si e das Gerät nicht se lbst und führen S ie auch keine Repa raturen selbst d urch.
Unsachgemäße Reparaturen können zur Zerstörung des Geräts, zu Feuer oder zu einer
Explosion führen. Das Gerät darf nur von autorisierten Fachleuten repariert werden.
Verwend en Sie nur von BARTEC G mbH zugelassenes Zubehör.
Schalten Sie das Gerät in Kliniken oder anderen medizinischen Einrichtungen aus.
Dieses Gerät kann die Funktion von medizinischen Geräten wie Herzschrittmachern
oder Hörhilfen beeinussen. Halten Sie immer einen Sicherheitsabstand von min-
destens 15 cm zwischen Gerät und einem Herzschrittmacher ein.
Achten Sie bei der Verwendung des Geräts während der Steuerung eines Kraft-
fahrzeuges auf die entsprechenden Landesgesetze.
Schalte n Sie das Gerät aus u nd entfernen S ie das USB-Kab el mit i.safe PR OTECTOR,
bevor Sie da s Gerät reinig en.
Benutz en Sie keine chemi schen Mittel zu m Reinigen des Ge räts oder des Zub ehörs.
Reinigen Sie die Geräte mit einem weichen, angefeuchteten antistatischen Stotuch.
Akkus ge hören NICHT in de n Hausmüll. Als Verbr aucher sind Sie da zu verpichtet
alte Akkus zur fachgerechten Entsorgung zurückzugeben.

dieser Hinweise oder unsachgemäßen Gebrauch des Geräts entstehen.
WARTUNG/REPARATUR
Beachten Sie eventuell gültige gesetzliche Richtlinien zu wiederkehrenden Prüfun-
gen, wie z. B. die Betriebssicherheitsverordnung!
Das Gerät s elbst besitz t keine zu warten den Teile. Es wird empf ohlen, eine Übe rprü-
fung anhand der Kriterien in den Sicherheitsvorschriften und Sicherheitshinweisen
durchzuführen.
Bedar f Ihr Gerät einer R eparatur, wenden Si e sich bitte an ein aut orisiertes Se rvice
Center oder Ihren Verkäufer. Reparaturen dürfen nur durch BARTEC GmbH o der auto-
risierte Service Center durchgeführt werden, da ansonsten die Sicherheit des Geräts
nicht mehr g ewährleistet i st.
AKKU
Der Akku i st fest in dem Ger ät eingebaut. Be i Anlieferung is t der Akku nicht vol lstän-
dig aufge laden. Das Gerä t lässt sich aber den noch vollständ ig aktivieren . Zur Errei-
chung der b esten Perform ance des Akkus sol lte dieser die ers ten dreimal volls tändig
entladen und anschließend wieder 100% aufgeladen werden.
LADEN DES AKKUS
Kontak tieren Sie das mitg elieferte USB -Kabel mit i. safe PROTECTOR mi t der USB-
Buchse des Geräts. Hier ist eventuell ein weiterer Adapter notwendig. Kontaktieren
Sie anschl ießend das USB- Kabel mit i.sa fe PROTECTOR mit dem USB-Ladeadapter.
Nach dem L adevorgang ent fernen Sie bit te das USB-Kabe l mit i.safe PROTEC TOR.
GEB RAUCH DES AK KUS
Im täglic hen Gebrauch de s Geräts hängt d ie Betriebsz eit von den G ebrauc hsgewoh n-
heiten und den Umgebungsbedingungen ab.
Sobald der Akku einen niedrigen Ladezustand erreicht, laden Sie es entsprechend der
Anleitung wieder auf. Falls dies nicht umgehend erfolgt, können nichtgespeicherte
Daten verl oren gehen. Wenn da s Gerät für länge re Zeit nicht gelad en wird, schaltet e s
sich selb st ab.
WARNUNG
Der Akku d es Geräts dar f nur innerhalb des Temp eraturbereic hes von 5 °C … 35 °C
geladen werden! Bitte laden Sie niemals außerhalb dieses Temperaturbereiches.

USB-KABEL MIT I.SAFE PROTECTOR
Das Gerät enthält Sicherheitsschaltungen.
Eine Verbind ung des Geräts mi t einem nicht Ex-zug elassenen Ger ät, wie z. B. einem Co mputer,
kann die Sic herheit des Ger äts beeinuss en, da Fehler in dem ni cht Ex-zugelasse nen Gerät
zu hohen Leistungen führen können, die die Sicherheitsschaltungen des Geräts zerstören
könnten.
Das USB-K abel mit i.saf e PROTECTOR enthä lt zusätzliche S icherheitssc haltungen, die da s Gerät
vor möglichen Fehlern in angeschlossenen Geräten schützen.
Aus diesem G rund sind Lade - und USB-Verbindun gen nur über das USB -Kabel mit i. safe
PROTECTOR erlaubt.
TASTENBELEGUNG UND BESONDERHEITEN

Önen Sie niemals die USB-Abdeckung in Ex-relevanten Bereichen!
AN- UND AUSSCHALTEN DES GERÄTS
Zum Anschal ten drücken Sie die [An-/Aus-Taste] bis das Display aueuchtet.
Das Gerät ist betriebsbereit.
Zum Ausscha lten drücken Sie die [An-/Aus-Taste].
Das Gerät s chaltet sich nach 3 S ekunden ab.
LESEN VON TRANSPONDERN
Halten Sie d ie Spitze des RF ID X IS an einen Transponder und drücken Sie die [Taste 1].
Kann der Trans ponder gelese n werden, zeigt da s Display den Typ und die UI D
des Transponders an.
Bendet sich kein Transponder im Lesebereich erscheint die Meldung „NO TAG “.
Der RFID X I S erkennt je nach Konguration folgende Transpondertypen automatisch:

HF 13,56 MHz
UHF 860 M Hz
BLUETOOTH-VERBINDUNG
Schalten S ie den RFID X IS an [An-/Aus-Taste]. Drücken Sie die [ Taste 2] um die
Bluetooth-Funktion an-/auszuschalten. Zum Paaren mit anderen (eingeschaltetes
Bluetooth vorausgesetzt) Geräten drücken und halten Sie die [Taste 2].
Im Display e rscheint „Pairing Bluetooth…“. Nach er folgreicher Paa rung wird der

TRANSPONDER MIT PC ODER ANDROID™ AUSLESEN
Bei einer Bluetooth-Verbindung können Sie den RFID X IS mit dem Pro gramm
„WINDOWS TIDMULTIPEN V.1.x“ oder mit der Android-Applikation „TECTUS Multipen“
(erhältli ch im Google Play™ Stor e) auslesen.
HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICE (HID)
Schalten S ie den RFID X IS ein un d stellen Sie eine Ver bindung mit dem PC h er.
Benutz en Sie dafür das mitg elieferte USB -Kabel mit i. safe PROTECTOR .
Die UID eines gelesenen Transponders wird nun automatisch an der Stelle
eingetragen, an der sich der Cursor bendet.
