1. Basic Safety Information

1.1 Information on this User Manual

Read carefully before putting the devices into operation.

The User Manual is a fixed part of the product. It must be kept in the direct vicinity of the

device and the installation, operating and service staff must have access to it at all

times. The User Manual contains important information, safety instructions and test certificates

which are necessary for the perfect function of the device in operation.

The User Manual is directed at all individuals concerned with the commissioning,

handling and servicing of the product. The applicable guidelines and standards for areas with gas and dust atmosphere (99/92/EG, EN/IEC 60079-17 and EN/IEC 60079-19) must be observed when conducting this work.

Knowledge of the safety and warning information in this User Manual and the strict

compliance with it is essential for safe installation and commissioning. Accidents, injuries

and material damage can be avoided by circumspect handling and systematically

following the instructions.

The examples, tables, and figures provided in this User Manual are for illustration

purposes. Due to the different

requirements of the respective application, the BARTEC

company cannot assume responsibility or liability for actual use based on the examples

and figures. The BARTEC company reserves the right to carry out technical changes at any time. In no event will BA

RTEC company be responsible or liable for indirect or consequential

damages resulting from the use or application of this User Manual.

1.1.1 Languages

The original User Manual with safety information is written in German. All other available languages are translations of the original User Manual.

The User Manual is available in German and English. If further languages are required, these must be requested from BARTEC or stated on placing an order.

1.1.2 Changes in the document

BARTEC reserves the right to change the content of this document without notification. No warranty is assumed for the correctness of the information. In cases of doubt, the German safety instructions apply because it is not possible to rule out errors of translation or printing. 1.2 Handli ng the product

The product described in this User Manual left the factory in a perfect and tested state in terms of safety. To maintain this state and to achieve a perfect and safe operation of this product, it may only be operated in the manner described by the manufacturer. In addition, the perfect and safe operation of this product requires correct transportation, proper storage and careful operation.

The safe and perfect handling of the Industry Tablet is a prerequisite for its perfect and correct functioning.

1.3 Intended use

1.3.1 Exclusive purpose

The Industry Tablet series is a handheld piece of electrical equipment. It serves the purpose of the mobile recording, processing and/or radio transmission of data within potentially explosive atmospheres.

It is used exclusively in combination with devices which comply with the requirements placed on the overvoltage category I.

The admissible operating data of the device used must be considered.

1.3.2 Unintended use

Any other use is unintended and may lead to damage and accidents. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any use extending beyond the exclusive purpose.

1.4 Duti es of the operator

The operator undertakes to only permit persons to work with the Industry Tablet who:  are acquainted with the basic regulations on safety and accident prevention, and who

have been inducted in the use of the Industry Tablet,  have read and understood the documentation, the safety chapter and the warnings. The operator checks that the safety and accident prevention regulations applicable to the

respective case of use have been observed.

1.5 General safety information

 Do not dry wipe or clean devices in potentially explosive atmospheres!  Do not open devices in potentially explosive atmospheres.  General statutory provisions or guidelines on occupational health and safety,

accident prevention provisions and environmental protection laws must be heeded,

e.g. Operational Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV) and nationally applicable ordinances.  Use suitable clothing and shoes with respect to the danger of hazardous electrostatic

charges.

 Avoid heat influences outside the specified temperature range.  Protect device from external influences! Do not expose device to caustic/aggressive

liquids, vapours or spray. In the case of malfunction or damaged enclosure, remove

the device immediately from the potentially explosive atmosphere and bring it to a

safe place.

1.6 Maintenance

The pertinent erection and operating provisions for electrical systems must be observed! (E.g. Directive 99/92/EC, Directive 94/9/EC, BetrSichV and nationally applicable ordinances EN 60079-14 and the series DIN VDE 0100)!

Observe the national waste disposal regulations when disposing of the devices.

1.6.1 Servicing

No constant servicing will be necessary if operated correctly under consideration of the assembly instructions and environmental conditions. See Chapter “Service, inspection, repair” in this respect.

1.6.2 Inspection

According to EN/IEC 60079-17 and EN/IEC 60079-19, the operator of electrical systems in potentially explosive atmospheres is obliged to have these inspected by an electrician to ensure correct condition.

1.6.3 Repairs

Repairs to explosion-protected devices may only be performed by authorised personnel with original spare parts and according to the state of the art. The applicable provisions must be observed in this respect.

1.6.4 Commissioning

It must be checked that all components and documents are available before commissioning.

1.7 Labelling, test certificate and standards

Labels on explosion protection and the test certificate are attached to the Industry Tablet. See Chapter 3 “Technical data” with respect to labelling.

The guidelines and standards applicable to the Industry Tablet for devices and protected systems for intended use in potentially explosive atmospheres are provided in Chapter 3 “Technical data”.

1.8 Warranty

WARNING

No changes or retrofits may be made without the written consent of the

manufacturer.

If non-specified components are used, the explosion

protection will no longer be guaranteed. In the case of externally procured parts, it is not guaranteed that these have been designed and manufactured in accordance with their load and requisite

safety.

 Contact the manufacturer before any changes or retrofits to receive a release.

Only use original spare and wearing parts.

The manufacturer shall exclusively assume the complete warranty only for spare parts ordered from him.

Our “General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Delivery” shall apply in principle. These shall be made available to the operator on signing of contract at the latest. Warranty and liability claims in the case of injury and damage to property shall be excluded if they are attributable to one or several of the following causes:

− Unintended use of the Industry Tablet.

− Incorrect handling.

− Failure to observe the information in the User Manual and the Quick Reference Guide

with respect to transport, storage, commissioning, operation and service.

− Independent structural changes.

− Faulty monitoring of parts subject to wear and tear.

− Incorrectly performed repairs.

− Cases of disaster through the impact of foreign bodies and force majeure.

The BARTEC company grants a warranty period of three years starting from the date of delivery from the Bad Mergentheim factory on the Industry Tablets (exception: battery 6 months). The warranty period for accessories is one year starting from the date of delivery from the Bad Mergentheim factory. This warranty covers all parts of the delivery and shall be restricted to the free replacement or repair of the defective parts in our Bad Mergentheim factory. For this purpose, any packaging supplied must be kept where possible. In the case of warranty, the goods must be returned to us after written agreement using an RMA form. There shall be no claim to repair at the sight of erection.

The information contained herein refers to the explosion-protected version of the Lumen X7 Industry Tablet series.

This User Manual contains all important information on the subject of explosion protection. A Quick Start Guide and further product information on handling and commissioning are similarly available.

2. Product Description

2.1 Lumen X7

Lumen X7 Industry Tablets are tough tablets with 7" display, which have been designed for use in the industrial environments and especially developed by BARTEC for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The Lumen X7 Industry Tablet is based on the ARM Cortex-A7 Quad Core processor running at 1.5 GHz. The 7-inch capacitive multi-touch display offers 1024 x 600 pixel WVGA resolution.

The Lumen X7 Industry Tablet owns a large number of international certifications and can be used worldwide. It is approved for ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 / 22 and UL Class I Division 2. Further country approvals are available on request.

Because of its numerous functions, the Lumen X7 Industry Tablet is perfect for stock management, transport, maintenance technicians, operating personnel, engineers, and project managers afield and in industry.

4.1 Transport

Report any transport

damage or incomplete deliveries immediately after receipt in

writing to the forwarding company and BARTEC GmbH.

Any damage caused through incorrect storage shall not be covered by the warranty

provisions of BARTEC GmbH.

4.2 Storage

 Observe storage temperatures.  Keep humidity away from the Lumen X7 Industry Tablet.

Additional information on the batteries

The batteries of BARTEC (type B7-A2Z0-0027) are developed and manufactured in accordance with the highest industrial standards. The operating time or storage period of a battery is restricted, however. The actual life of a battery is influenced by different factors, e.g. hot, cold, rough operating environment and falling from a great height. If a battery is kept longer than six months, the performance may be impaired on a permanent basis. Keep the batteries in a dry, cool place. For longer periods of storage, remove the batteries from the device to prevent self-discharge.

Batteries kept for a duration of six months or longer should be charged and discharged again at least every three months. If electrolyte has escaped, do not touch the areas affected and dispose of the batteries as prescribed. Replace the battery if the operating time has shortened considerably.

The standard warranty period for all BARTEC batteries is six months, whereby it is irrelevant whether the battery was acquired separately or was contained in the scope of the delivery of the Industry Tablet.

− The Industry Tablet may not be opened.

Exceptions are the interface cover at the lower side for the installation of the SIM/Micro SD card or the connection of the Micro USB cable, headset, and power (DC).

− Do not use, swap or replace and non-s pec ified com ponent s.

− Do not retrofit any components to the internal plugs or slots. One exception is the

SIM card and the Micro SD card.

− Protect the Industry Tablet from impact!

1. Place the Industry Tablet on a flat mat.

2. Open carefully the protective I/O cover.

5.4.2 Insert SIM card and Micro SD card

ATTENTION

Damage to the SIM / micro SD card through electrostatic discharges!

 Use an antistatic mat.  Ensure that the operator is correctly earthed.  A maximum of 32 GB are supported.

To insert the SIM card and Micro SD card, the protective I/O cover must be removed.

Work steps:

Only insert or replace the SIM / micro SD card outside of the potentially explosive atmosphere. Only use SIM / micro SD cards which have been tested and certified by BARTEC for this purpose.

1. Place the Industry Tablet on its front (display facing downwards) on a flat mat.

2. Open the protective rubbed bumper.

3. Insert the SIM card (with the golden parts facing up and cut-off corner facing out) and

push it in the direction of the arrows as shown in the figure.

4. Push the SD card in the slot to insert it.

5.4.3 Insert battery

DANGER

In potentially explosive atmospheres, battery latches must be locked.

Danger to life exists!

 Check the locking of the battery latches carefully.

Work steps:

Only install or replace the battery outside the potentially explosive atmosphere.

1. Disconnect any cables connected to the Industry Tablet.

2. Place the Industry Tablet on its front (display facing downwards) on a flat mat.

3. Insert the battery on the connector-pins side (c) first, and then lower the battery (d)

into the battery compartment. Continue to hold the battery latches (e) before the battery is fully inserted.

Make sure the battery is completely lowered into the compartment before letting go the battery latches (e). The battery will be flat against the housing once it is fully inserted.

5.4.4 Charge battery

 Use only the adapter included with the Industry Tablet. Using other adapters may

damage the Industry Tablet and the battery.

The Industry Tablet operates either on external adapter or internal battery power. To connect the Industry Tablet to the power supply, the protective I/O cover must be removed.

Work steps:

1. Plug the adapter into the Power Jack of the Industry tablet.

2. Plug the adapter power cable into the electrical outlet. As soon as the adapter is

connected with the outlet, the battery will be charged. The battery LED display (see chapter 2.2 "Structure") at the Industry Tablet changes.

5.4.5 Turn On and Off the Lumen X7 Industry Tablet Work steps: Turn the device on

The device may be power supplied either via the adapter or the battery.

1. Press and hold the Power On/Off button (f) for 3 seconds, located on the top of the

device.

Do not press the Power On/Off button repeatedly! Do not perform the following operations until the hard drive indicator turns off:

- Connect or disconnect the adapter

- Press the Power On/Off button

- Touch the tablet buttons, screen, or external keyboard/mouse

Work steps: Turn the device off Make sure you have closed any programs that are open on the desktop.

1. To turn off the device, press and hold the Power On/Off button (f) on top of the device

for 6 seconds or longer until the phone options menu appears.

2. Tap Power off.

 A condition for a safety conscious operation is the use of original screen protectors

which have been specified for use by BARTEC.

 Using screen protectors from different manufacturers renders the ignition

protection useless so that there is a danger of fire or explosion.

 The screen protector may only be attached or replaced outside the potentially

explosive atmosphere!

6. Operation

The operator using an electric system in a potentially explosive environment must keep the accompanying operation equipment in good condition, operate and monitor it correctly and conduct the requisite services and repairs. Before operation the devices it must be checked that all components and documents are available.

6.1 Final inspection

The following aspects must be checked before putting the device into operation:

 Is there any damage to the display, scanner window (optional) or enclosure?  Is the battery correctly inserted and locked?  Does the screen protector (if used) have the requisite certification?  Is the micro SD card specified for the Lumen X7 Industry Tablet?  Has the SIM card been correctly inserted?  Have only accessory parts been attached to the device which have been released for

use in potentially explosive atmospheres?

6.2 Care and cl eaning

We recommend that the devices be cleaned regularly depending on use and also treated with care to ensure smooth and trouble free operation.

6.3 Operation, recommendations and requirements

6.3.1 Basic safety and health protection requirements

Consult your local health and safety officer to ensure that you are acquainted with the safety regulations in your company which serve to protect employees at the workplace.

6.3.2 Ergonomic recommendation

The following recommendations should be considered for everyday work at the workplace:

− Avoid one-sided, constantly repetitive movements.

− Body posture should be as neutral as possible.

− Avoid exercising great force.

− Keep objects which are used frequently within a functional distance.

− Adjust the working height to the body height and type of work.

− Erect objects without vibration.

− Avoid the exercising of direct pressure.

− Ensure that the tables and chairs are adjustable.

− There must be sufficient room for body movements.

− Ensure that the working environment is suitable.

− Optimise work flows.

− Alternate between the left and right hand as frequently as possible when conducting

repetitive tasks.

6.3.3 Vehicle installation

It is not permitted to connect a warning device which leads to horn sounds or light

signals when receiving a call in road traffic. Information on conducting telephone conversations only applies if a 3.75G

module is

used.

RF signals may impair incorrectly installed or inadequately shielded electronic systems in vehicles (including safety systems). If you have any questions on your vehicle, get in touch with the manufacturer or sales person.

You can also learn from the manufacturer whether additional equipment has been fitted to the vehicle. An airbag has a strong impact. Do NOT place objects, such as installed or portable radio equipment, in the area above the airbag or in the area of deployment of the airbag. If radio equipment was not correctly installed in the vehicle, severe injuries may result if the airbag is triggered.

Position the device within good range. Ensure that you have access to the device without having to take your eye off the road.

Road traffic safety

Do not take any notes and do not use the device when driving. Making a list of to-dos or browsing through the address book when driving has a negative effect on safe driving. When driving on the road, you must primarily think of your safety and that of other road users. You should therefore concentrate completely on the road. Check the legal provisions on the use of wireless devices in road traffic of the respective region. Always observe these.

If you use a wireless device during driving a car, rely on your good judgement and remember the following:

− Become acquainted with the wireless device and its functions such as the shortcut dialling or dial repetition function. These functions may prove to be useful if you would like to make calls without taking your eye off the road.

− Where possible, use hands-free equipment.

− Let your dialogue partner know that you are behind the steering wheel. When

necessary discontinue the call in dense traffic or poor weather conditions. Rain, sleet, snow, ice and even very dense traffic represent dangers.

− Dial the required numbers carefully and estimate and the traffic situation. Make your calls once you have brought your car to a stop or before you leave. Plan your calls such that these can be done when parked. If you really must make a call during the trip, only dial a part of the number, check the road and look in the rear view mirror and then dial the rest of the number.

− Do not succumb to stressful and emotional telephone conversations which could take your attention from the road. Let your dialogue partner know that you are in a car and refrain from conversations which could take your attention from the road.

− Call for help using your mobile device if necessary. Dial the emergency services (911 in the USA and 112 in Europe) or other local emergency service numbers in the event of fire, accident or medical emergencies. Remember that these calls are free of charge on the wireless device! The call can be made independently of security code or networks with or without a SIM card.

− Help your fellow humans in emergency situations with your mobile device. If you witness a serious accident, crime or any other emergency, call the emergency service (911 in the USA and 112 in Europe) or another local emergency service number because you could be the one who needs help next time.

− Call the breakdown service or a special mobile radio number for support if you encounter problems on the road. If you pass a car with a breakdown, which does not represent a serious impediment to traffic, pass traffic lights which do not function, a traffic accident with slight damage and without injuries or a possibly stolen car, please get in touch with the road police or another special mobile radio number for support.

6.3.4 Information on the use of wireless devices

Heed all warnings referring to the use of wireless devices.

6.3.4.1 Safety in aircraft

Switch off the wireless device when asked to do so by the ground staff and by employees of the airline. If your device has a flight mode or similar function, find out about its correct use with the help of the aircraft staff.

6.3.4.2 Safety in hospitals

Wireless devices emit radio frequencies and cause disturbances to medical technical electrical devices. Wireless devices should be switched-off on request when you are in hospitals, clinics or health establishments. This is intended to avoid any possible interferences with sensitive medical equipment.

6.3.4.3 Heart pacemakers

Manufacturers recommend that a minimum distance of 15 cm be observed between a wireless handheld device and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference. This guideline is in line with the independent research results and recommendations of Wireless Technology Research.

− Persons with heart pacemakers should ALWAYS keep at least 15 cm away from the activated device.

− The device may not be worn by these persons in the breast pocket.

− The device should be held to the ear which is further away from the heart pacemaker.

− If you have reason to assume that an interference has arisen you should SWITCH-

OFF the device immediately.

6.3.4.4 Hearing aids

The wireless device may cause disturbances to hearing devices. Get in contact with the manufacturer of your hearing device in the case of disturbances to ask about possible solutions.

− The device should be held to the ear which is furthest away from the heart pacemaker.

− If you have reason to assume that interference has arisen you should SWITCH OFF

the device immediately.

Industrial standard declaration for Canada

ATTENTION

Devices can be damaged by inappropriate handling!

 The device for the frequency range 5150-5250 MHz is exclusively intended for

operation in indoor rooms in order to restrict possible co-channel interference for satellite mobile radio systmes to a minimum. The frequency ranges 5250-5350 MHz and 5650-5850 MHz are primarily intended for the high power radar devices (i.e. these radar devices take priority). These radar devices may cause interference and/or damage WLAN devices.

6.6.5 Use the On-Screen Keyboard

The user will be able to enter text using the On-Screen Keyboard. Some applications will launch the keyboard automatically. In others, the user needs to touch a text field where the user wants to enter text to launch the keyboard.

Enter text by typing Work steps:

Open a text field (in this example we used Google Chrome to create a note). The On-Screen Keyboard opens.

Tap (e) once to capitalize the alphabet. If the user taps in a text field which already contains text, the insertion point is set

where the user taps and the cursor appears. The user can drag the cursor to pick exactly where you want to add more text. The user can also select a word to copy, cut and paste it. See "Edit text ".

Tap the delete key to erase characters to the left of the cursor.

Normal , Large, or Huge.

6.6.8 Set the audio profile

Use the sound settings to configure how and at what volume the phone rings, vibrates or alerts the user in other ways when the user receives a call, receives a notification, or an alarm sounds.

6.6.10 Set language and keyboard

Use the language and keyboard settings to select the language for the text on your Industry Tablet and for configuring the On-Screen Keyboard, including words that you add to its dictionary.

Change the keyboard language

The current keyboard language is displayed on the space key and the user can switch languages.

Work steps:

Tap the keyboard icon located on the top right.

There are four input options:

Hardware-physical keyboard

Tap Hardware-physical keyboard to use the Hardware-physical keyb oa r d.

English (US) - Android Keyboard

Tap English (US) - Android Keyboard to use the Android Keyboard.

Tap Settings (on the display's right) to change the input language via Input languages >> ACTIVE INPUT METHODS.

Make the required settings in General by tapping (for example autocapitalization, auto-correction, or other options).

Google voice typing

Tap Google voice typing to control the Industry Tablet via speech.

6.6.11 USB debugging setting

To permit debugging tools on a computer to communicate with the user’s Industry Tablet via USB connection.

Work steps

1. Tap and then tap System settings.

2. Tap { } Developer options and then tap USB debugging to allow USB debugging.

If the USB is connected, there will be a symbol in the notification icons on the bottom right.

6.6.12 About the phone About Phone includes information about user’s Industry Tablet.

System Update

Provides information regarding the local or online update of your devices.

Status

Opens the status screen with a list of information about battery, network, signal strength, and other details.

Legal Information

Lists details about the model number, Android Version, Baseband version etc. This inform ation is useful if the user needs to work with the support team.

6.7 Connecti on to mobile networks and devices

When users assemble their Industry Tablet with a SIM card from the service provider, their phone is configured to use their provider networks for voice calls and for transmitting data.

Different locations may have different mobile networks available. The user may need to configure the Industry Tablet to use certain networks. To obtain fastest networks, the user can configure the Industry Tablet to 3.75G. To extend the life of battery the user can use 2G network.

6.7.1 Check the network (3G) connection Work steps:

1. Tap and then tap Settings.

2. Tap More… in the Wireless & networks, and then tap Mobile networks.

3. Tap Network operators to select the network operator.

Do not change the parameters of the access point to prevent the user to be un

able to

access network sources.

6.7.3 Connect to Wi-Fi networks Turn on the Wi-Fi and connect to a Wi-Fi network Work steps:

1. Tap and then tap Settings.

2. Tap Wireless & networks and then select Wi-Fi to turn it on.

3. Tap Wi-Fi.

The device scans for available Wi-Fi networks and displays the list of it. Secured networks are indicated with a lock icon .

If the phone finds a network that you have connected previously, it connects to it automatically.

4. Tap a network to connect to it.

If the network is open, you are prompted to confirm that you want to connect it by tapping Connect.

If the network is secured, users are prompted to enter a password or other credentials.

To check the details about the speed, security, address, and related settings, tap its name in the Wi-Fi settings screen.

deployed on the network. Enter any required security creden t ials.

6.9 Connection / di sconnection via USB

DANGER

Non certified accessories endanger explosion protection. Danger to life exists in potentially explosive atmospheres!

 The external Micro USB Type B interface (OTG Host, data exchange, and

charging) must only be used outside hazardous areas with specified accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

ATTENTION

Data loss due to incorrect connection/disconnection of USB devices!

 When connect ing your Industry Tablet to a computer and mounting its USB

storage or SD card, the user must follow the computer’s instructions for connecting and disconnecting USB device, to avoid damaging or corrupting files.

The user can connect the Industry Tablet to a computer with an USB cable to transfer files between the Industry Tablet and another computer.

Connect Lumen X7 Work steps:

1. Use the USB cable that came with your Industry Tablet to connect the phone to a

USB port on your computer.

2. After you received a notification that the USB is connected, tap the notification panel

and then tap (USB) connected as a media device.

3. Select Media device (MTP) to confirm the file transfer.

When the device is connected as USB storage, the screen indicates that USB storage is in use and user will receive a notification.

6.10 Use the camera

The Industry Tablet is equipped with a 5 MP camera on the rear side, which the user can use to capture photos or video.

Make sure that the protective lens cover is clean before taking pictures.

A dirty lens

cover can cause blurry pictures.

6.10.1 Open the camera Work steps:

Tap the Launcher and then tap Camera . The camera opens in portrait mode, ready to take a picture or to shoot a video.

6.10.2 Take a picture Work steps:

1. Adjust the exposure, flash, and other necessary settings. Or leave it automatic.

1. Tap to switch from camera to video mode.

2. Point the lens to record the scene where you want to start.

3. Tap the Record icon to start the video recording.

The countdown time remaining to record the video is located on the upper left. When the time left is less than a minute, the countdown turns red.

6.11.3 Use Read / Write Function

The RFID HF/NFC Reader supports following protocols:

− ISO 14443-A (read)

− ISO 14443-B (read)

− ISO 15693 (read)

− ISO 18092 (read/write)

By default, no application for read / write function is pre-installed. The user can download an existing application from Google App Store what is usable for

the RFID HF/NFC reader. Another option is to use the standard Google Android SDK (Software Development Kit) for development of a customized solution. For the Lumen X7 is a SDK available for download what is needed for the development. See Chapter 12.1

Example Application for test:

Open Google App Store and search for “NXP” and install it.

7. Faults and Troubleshouting

DANGER

Danger to life exists in potentially explosive atmospheres!

 Examine defective devices and any accessories only outside the potentially

explosive atmosphere.

7.1 Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

The battery does not charge.

- Check that the external power supply is connected and that the replaceable battery is inserted correctly.

No image on the display.

- The Industry Tablet is possibly in sleep mode. Press power button to wake up the device.

- The settings for the background lighting are possibly too low. Increase the settings of the background lighting.

There is no WLAN signal.

- Check under "System settings/Wireless & networks" whether the WLAN is activated.

- If the function is deactivated, activate the function. If the Industry Tablet finds a network that you have connected previously, it connects to it automatically.

The WLAN signal is very poor.

- Select a network with a better signal strength.

Bluetooth connection to other devices is not working.

- Check that the Bluetooth is switched on in both devices.

- Check whether the two devices are connectable.

- •Check whether the two devices are compatible with one another

- Check whether the two devices are further than 10 m apart.

The GPS application cannot find my position.

- Check under "System settings/Wireless & networks" whether the GPS is activated.

- You may possibly be outside the GPS range. Take the Industry Tablet outdoors or closer to a window.

- Check whether the objects in the environment generate faults such as microwaves or mobile telephones.

- Move the Industry Tablet away from such devices.

There is no sound from the loudspeaker.

- Check the volume setting with the buttons for high and low.

- When using external audio devices check whether the cable has been connected correctly.

The RFID reader does not work.

- Check that a Lumen X7 with integrated RFID Reader is used.

8. Service, Inspection, Repair

Service, inspection, and repair of Lumen X7 Industry Tablets may be conducted exclusively by trained and qualified staff! The staff who is familiar with the service, inspection, and repair of Lumen X7 Industry Tablets, has been informed about the risks and has the qualifications necessary for this work.

8.1 Servi ce intervalls

DANGER

Prevent electrostatic charging in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Danger to life in explosive atmosphere!

 Do not dry wipe or clean devices.

The mechanical state of the Industry Tablet should be regularly checked. The service intervals will depend on the ambient conditions. We recommend that a service be conducted at least once a year. Regular servicing is not necessary if the Industry Tablet is correctly operated in accordance with the installation instructions and under appropriate consideration of the ambient conditions.

8.2 Inspection

According to EN/IEC 60079-17 and EN/IEC 60079-19, the owner/operator of electrical plants in potentially explosive atmospheres is obliged to have these plants checked by an electrician to ensure that they are in a correct condition.

8.3 Servi ce and repair work

In addition to Directive 99/92/EC, the standards EN/IEC 60079-17 and EN/IEC 60079-19 also apply to the servicing and repair as well as the testing of accompanying operating devices.

Work connected with assembly/dismantling, operation and servicing may only be conducted by trained specialists. All statutory requirements and other binding guidelines on occupational health and safety, accident prevention and environmental protection must be observed.

8.3.1 Information on sending in for repairs

The following information is required for the repair:

- Serial number of the device, see label for series number in chapter 3.6 "Product labelling"

- Model number or product name, see type plate in chapter 3.6 "Product labelling"

- Software type and version number, see system information in Control Panel

As professional electrical devices, our devices are intended exclusively for commercial

use, so-called B2B devices, in accordance with the WEEE Directive. The WEEE Directive provides

the framework for the treatment of old electrical equipment throughout Europe. This means that you may not dispose of these devices in usual household waste but must dispose of them separately in an environmentally

compatible manner and can also bring them

to the collection points of public disposal

companies.

All products purchased from us can be returned to us by our customers for disposal.

We will ensure disposal in accordance with the applicable laws. The sender shall bear the costs of postage and packaging.
