NUDE PULLEY CONVERSION KIT INSTALLATION GUIDE

NOTE: WE RECOMMEND THE INSTALLATION OF THIS KIT BE

PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED MOTORCYCLE TECHNICIAN

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand. Remove the drive pulley cover bracket and drive pulley cover per
Yamaha service manual procedures.

2. Straighten lock washer tab on the drive pulley. Loosen drive pulley nut and remove pulley. NOTE: When
loosening the drive pulley nut, press down on the brake pedal to prevent the pulley from turning. You may need
to loosen the rear axle and slide the rear wheel forward slightly to allow enough slack in the belt for easier
pulley removal.

3. Next loosen and remove four (4) allen-head and three (3) hex-head bolts holding drive pulley case to engine
and remove drive pulley case. The (4) allen-head cap bolts will be re-used in mounting the Barons Torque
Plate to the engine.

4. Install the torque plate support (flask shaped piece) onto the torque plate using the supplied dowel pins, use a
soft mallet if needed to seat the two pieces together.

5. Remove the (2) OEM dowel pins from the front of the drive pulley case. Carefully slide new Barons Torque
Plate under drive belt and install to engine using the supplied 8 x 30mm hex-head flange bolts or the 10 x 30mm
cap-head allen bolts and washers, and the (4) OEM allen-head bolts removed in Step 3. Torque all bolts to 22
ft-lb.

6. Using the (2) supplied 8 x 120mm allen-head bolts, install the supplied Torque Plate Support Bracket in place
of the drive pulley cover bracket (removed in Step 1) to the new Baron Torque Plate and to the frame. Torque
the supplied 8 x 120mm cap bolts to 22 ft-lb., and the supplied 10 x 25mm frame bolts to 38 ft-lb.

7. Install Barons aluminum Pulley Cover assembly per supplied instructions with that kit and supplied
hardware from this kit.
