Image 2-1 The VR Workroom allows multi source (mono and 3D) visualization in a Desktop integrated environment. A master/slave system and the network integration allows perfect synchronization between the 2 displays.
Convention
The left side is chosen to be the left side from a viewer’s point of view i.e. when looking at the screen in a front configuration. The left projector is thus on the left side.

4. SYSTEM OVERVIEW
4.1 Principle
iCon Server
This is the internal Single Board Computer residing in the Barco iCon projector. The Barco iCon Server takes care of (among other things) the desktop source management.
VR Workroom system principle
The VR Workroom uses 2 Barco iCon LCD projectors to display a desktop generated by the internal iCon Server of one of the projectors. This projector is set as the Master and controls the other projector set as the Slave. In r generated by the Master and projected by both projectors.
On this desktop, multiple source windows can be added and configured to set up a collaborative working environment. Passive Stereoscopic projection is obtained by projecting the left eye image on one projector (here the Master ) and the right eye image channel on the other projector (here the Slave). The interaction with the user is done by the Master i.e. the keyboard and the mouse are connected to the master.

Rear installation
Introduction
Depending on the system considered i.e. front or rear the installation will be different. For each configuration it can also differ depending on the setup, the screen dimensions , ...
The systems are however pre-adjusted for optimal image quality for pre determined a projection distance and screen dimensions (as offered).
Following chapters handle the different installation procedures.
The detailed drawings with dimensions can be found in the appendix Dimensions.
5.1 Installation guidelines
Safety Area
To insure optimal cooling of the projectors and allow easy maintenance and servicing operations (see Maintenance section), always insure a minimal safety zone around the system (structure).
The rear area of the system should also allow the removal of the projectors.

This safety zone must be respected in the 2 types of configurations (front/rear).
False ceiling installation
Always respect a maximal embedment dimension preventing from obstructing :

WARNING: Installing the Ceiling mount should be performed only after you are thoroughly familiar with all
the safety issues and installation guidelines. Notdoing this increases the risk of hazards and personal injury !
WARNING: Test the fixation to the ceiling for s afety and rig idity under side loads and to at least 800kg (1764

WARNING: The support is provided with three security chains. No t installing the security chains may result
in serio us personal injury !
WARNING: To insure optimal cooli ng of the proj ectorsand allow easy maintenance and servicing operations
(see maintenance section) always in sure a minimal safety zone around the system (structure).
WARNING: Persons not involved in the installation must be kept out of the installation area !
Introduction : What must be done ?
The VR Workroom is pre aligned and will guarantee optimal image quality only when respecting the fixed given dimensions i.e. several distances are fixed (indicated with a exclamation mark in the image below)
The image’s (screen) vertical start position and thus the assembly’s height however can be adapted to the application’s requirements. The assembly’s height is adjusted with the screwed rods that fix the assembly to the ceiling mount’s top part.

5.2.2 Installing the ceiling mount (top parts of the ceiling mounts)
Takethe necessary precautions to mount the assembly (thus the ceiling mounts) at the right position (parallel to the screen ,... ), this will guarantee proper image alignment and will prevent from having too many extra adjustments.
How to determine the position of the ceiling mount fixation holes?
The position of the ceiling mount fixation holes can be determined by following drawing.

5.2.3 Preparation for the assembly mounting What has to be done ?
Prior to the mounting of the assembly (bottom part of the ceiling mount + VR workroom assembly ), one has to mount the cords on the pulley systems. The cords and pulley system will be used to pull up the projector.
A safety cable has to be attached to the projector frame and to the ceiling mount.
How to mount the cords on the ceiling mount top parts (has to be done for the 2 ceiling mounts)?
1. Slide the cord support in the support holder on the upper support until it locks (image 5-7, image 5-8)
2. Insert the cord on the upper support as illustrated
3. Run the top of the cord through the hole of the fixation bracket for approx. 1m and fix this latter to the main cord by means of the
3 provided clamps. Tighten the clamp screws very strongly to ensure good fixation and for safety.

Introduction
The VR Workroom system is factory pre-adjusted i.e. most of the settings are already defined.
In general these settings will never have to be changed. However, in case of a malfunctioning of the system it can be interesting to check if none of these settings has be changed. Depending on the symptom one or the other of these settings may be suspec

Air circulation
To prevent hot air to be blown on the side of the projectors a plate has been designed and mounted on the air outlet of each projector. This plate will redirect the hot air to the assembly outlet provided on the rear of the structure. Note that, for each projector, cold air (inlet) is taken at the bottom of the projector (see arrow).
