PVS-6 series
2K x 2K graphics generators
for real-time visualization
Consumer graphics boards lack performance and support for
use in real-time, life-critical applications like Air Traffic Control,
because these applications require a substantial amount
of pixmap, label and track manipulations. Barco’s PVS-6
series offers state-of-the-art PCI and PCIe graphics generators
designed for applications requiring high-performance drawing
with high-resolution video output. The PVS-6 family provides
two independent video outputs up to 2560 x 2048.
The two independent outputs allow for a single card
to support both the main and auxiliary displays.
Most models can produce RGB video with resolutions up
to 2048x2048 on a combined analog/digital DVI-I
connector (compatible with both the Barco ISIS digital and
analog flat panel and analog Sony DDM CRT display).
The digital output offers the opportunity to upgrade
from analog CRT displays to digital solutions (like the ISIS flat
panel display) without the need for upgrading the graphics
generator.
Main features:
• PCI or PCI express bus
• Dual Video Output
• ISIS/Digital, ISIS/Analog and Sony DDM compatible
• Hardware anti-aliasing
• Hardware accelerated Xinerama
• Hardware accelerated Dual State Xserver
• 128 – 512 MB memory
• Pseudo-color/direct color

Barco Xserver:
Each output can be programmed for independent resolution and
treated as a separate X screen. The Xserver supports SSO (Single
Screen Overlay), which allows using 8-bit overlay. The Barco Xserver
also supports special capabilities such as multiple cursors, antialiasing, display recording, supervision and hardware related Xinerama.
The second output can be used to show a selected region of interest of
the first output. The region of interest can be panned.
Dual State Xserver:
The PCIe-6700, PVS-6700 and PVS-6600 support Barco’s patent
pending Dual State Xserver, allowing main and fallback
applications to be hardware accelerated on the same card, with
one being actively shown and while keeping Xserver resources
separated in two states. The active state can be swapped through
remote control and hot key.
PCI Express model:
• PCIe-6700: dual head combined analog & digital up to 2560 x 2048
resolution
