Caution
Installing the CM50 for the 700 and 3000 series projectors should be performed only
after you are thoroughly familiar with all of the following safety checks and installation
guidelines. To do otherwise increases the risk of hazards and injury to the user.
Warning
The ceiling should be capable of supporting a weight of at least 250 kg (441 lbs). If it
cannot, the ceiling must be reinforced. Improper installation may result in serious
personal injury.
Caution
This ceiling mount is designed for use only with BARCO 700-series, 3000-series and
6000-series (maximum dual stacked) projectors.
Use with other appliances may result in instability causing possible injury.
Maximum load: 70kg (154 lbs)

4.1 Determination of the mounting distance between SCREEN and FRONT CEILING SUPPORT
Configuration A
PD = perpendicular projector distance between screen and front side of the projector (see installation manual of the projector).
Important: For the Projectors 700 series: the perpendicular distance between the support and
the screen is the same value as the calculated PD. For the Projectors 3000 series: the perpendicular distance between the support and the screen is the calculated value PD increased with 17.35cm. For the Projectors 2100 series: the perpendicular distance between the support and the screen is the calculated value PD increased with 16.9cm.

4.2 Mounting the CEILING SUPPORT
Mounting rules
The mounted ceiling support must be:
- perpendicular to the screen and
- mounted level.

ceiling support
Mounting the ceiling support:
Preparation:
- Place the support on the ceiling on the right distance from the screen and perpendicular to the screen.
- Mark at least 4 fixation holes on the ceiling (minimum 2 on each side of the support and as far as possible to the edges of the support).
- Remove the upper support and drill holes in order to be able to insert bolts (M10) which
guarantee a downward support of at least 250 kg (441lbs).

Mounting Instructions
Move the projector with support towards the ceiling mount and push the cone through the locking hole until it locks securely.
The projector can be rotated horizontally a little to the left or to the right until the projector axis becomes perpendicular with the screen. Secure this correct position with the four tube nuts and washers (16x8.4x1.6).

The length of the extension rods (X) is determined by the position of the projector with regard to the ceiling distance (CD). The value CD can be calculated with the formula given in the
Installation Manual
of your projector.
Projectors 700 series
The minimum and the maximum length of the rods (X) is given in mm by these formulas :
Xmin = CD - 50 - 75 + 55 Xmax = CD - 50 - 75 + 90

Projectors 3000 series
The minimum and the maximum length of the rods (X) is given in mm by these formulas :

Configuration B (continued)
Mounting the rods on the ceiling support
Turn a nut M12 (A) on one side of each rod.
Slide a washer (B) on each rod.
Slide a rubber washer (C) on each rod.
Slide another washer (D) on each rod.
Run the end of the each rod, on which the nut and washers are mounted, through the provided holes in the upper support and secure with a washer (E), a rubber washer (F), a washer (G) and a nut M12 (H).
Mounting the center plate on the rods
Mount the plate so that the distance between the ceiling and the bottom side of the center plate is equal to CD - 22 mm (22 mm is the height of the projector support).
Adjust the nuts on the rods until the center plate is water-levelled.

Insertion of the cord
Insert the cord as shown in next drawing. Start cord insertion at the pulley (fix the pulley to the cord using the two wire rope clips) and continue as illustrated with the arrows.
Mounting the cord support
First slide the pulley through the gap on the front side of the upper support and push the pulley through the circular gap in the upper support.
Slide the cord support through the gap on the front side and secure the cord support with the two bolts (M6).

If the projector is well locked, rotate the projector a little to the left or to the right until the projector axis is perpendicular with the screen.
Secure this position with the four tube bolts A.
Lifting up the projector
Safety precautions :
- Standing under the projector while lifting is dangerous and must be avoided !
- Lifting up the projector has to be done very slowly to avoid swaying.
- Persons not involved with the installation have to be kept out of the working area.
After all safety precautions have been taken, proceed to lift up the projector.
