Getting Started
Your Barbie
-On the Go Learning Phone operates on
1 CR2032 battery (included).
Battery Installation
1) Make sure the unit is turned off.
2) Using a small screwdriver slide back the locking catch. Tip the unit and the battery cover will drop out. It may require assitance from a fingernail.
3) Insert the CR2032 battery, taking careful note of the correct polarity. Try not to handle the battery too much.
4) Replace the cover and slide the locking catch back with a small screwdriver.
Caution
• Only use batteries of the same or equivalent type.

• Remove batteries from the unit if the unit is not going
to be used for a long time.
• Remove all batteries when replacing.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
¥ Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy
before being charged.

• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
• Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The unit should be regularly examined for damage to the enclosure and other parts. In the event of such damage the unit must not be used until the damage has been repaired. Always disconnect the power supply and/or remove the batteries before cleaning. Wipe the unit with a dry cloth.
• Do not get the unit wet.
• Do not dismantle the unit.
Auto-off
If there is no input on the unit for 5 minutes the unit will automatically say goodbye and turn itself off to conserve power. When you are ready to start playing again just press the On/Off button to turn the unit back on.
Blackout Screen or Abnormal Display
Reset the unit by pushing the reset button located on the back of the unit. Use a pencil to do this.

Turn on the -On the Go Learning Phone by pressing the On/Off button on the top left of the unit. Remember to turn the unit off when you have finished by pushing the same button.
Activity Rules
Game Selection
There are 10 awesome activities in the -On the Go Learning Phone. When you turn the unit on you will be
asked to select a game. The title screen of the first game will appear on the screen. You can move through the different title screens with the up and down cursor buttons. Select the game by pressing the left or right cursor buttons. If you leave the unit in the game selection screens for about 5 seconds without pressing a button a game will be selected automatically for you.
The game title screens appear in the following order: My ABC’s Magic Wand Count Down Figure Out Balloon Blast Remember This Keypad Capers Math Magic Music Maker Melody Mania You can press the Game button (bottom left of the unit) at any time to return to the game

selection screens.
Attempts
You have three attempts at each question. After three incorrect answers the -On the Go Learning Phone will reveal the correct answer. This feature applies to the following games: Magic Wand Count Down Figure Out Balloon Blast Remember This Keypad Capers If there is no input after about 15 seconds the -On the Go Learning Phone will repeat the instruction prompt.
Cursor and Shape Buttons
The cursor buttons are used for game selection and in some games for submitting an answer. Shapes are printed on the cursor buttons and the buttons will function as shape buttons when they are needed.
Number and Note Buttons
The number buttons are used in some games. The number buttons also have notes printed on them for Music Maker.
Answer Key
The answer key has the Barbie
®
logo printed

on it. If you are stuck you can press the answer key to see the correct answer to the current question. You will not score anything for that question.
Repeat Key
Press the repeat key to hear the game instructions again.
Help Key
Press the help key to get a clue for the question. Not all games have help.
Activities
My ABC’s
Learn new words with the -On the Go Learning Phone.
1. The -On the Go Learning Phone selects a
letter at random and displays an animation of a word beginning with that letter. You are then asked to select a letter.
2. Select a letter by scrolling through the alphabet with the up and down cursor buttons. Press the left or right cursor button to select the letter.
3. The -On the Go Learning Phone will display the animation.
Magic Wand
Practice the alphabet with this activity.
1. The -On the Go Learning Phone shows five letters in a row with a magic wand

above them. The letters are all in alphabetical order apart from one of them.
2. Identify the letter that is out of sequence.
3. Move the wand with the left and right cursor buttons and select the letter by pressing the up or down cursor button.
Count Down
This activity lets you practice your counting skills.
1. A number of shapes are displayed on the screen. The -On the Go Learning Phone asks you how many there are.
2. Count the shapes and key in the number with the number buttons.
Figure Out
Improve your counting and shape recognition skills.
1. The -On the Go Learning Phone asks you to count a certain shape.
2. Lots of different shapes fly across the screen.
3. Count only the shapes you were asked to look out for.
4. When the animation stops you will be asked how many of that shape you saw. Key in the answer with the number buttons.
Balloon Blast
Improve your logic skills with Barbie®.
1. The -On the Go Learning Phone shows a sequence

of numbers at the bottom of the screen.
There are three balloons with numbers
written on them at the top of the screen.
2. Work out which of the numbers on the balloons will complete the sequence.
3. Key in the number using the number buttons.

How good is your memory? Test yourself with this activity!
1. The -On the Go Learning Phone shows a row of five shapes for a short time. Remember the order.
2. After the shapes are covered you are asked to key in the shapes in order from left to right.
3. Use the shape keys to input your answer. The answer is automatically submitted when you key in the last shape.
Keypad Capers
Help Barbie®find the matching shape pairs.
1. The -On the Go Learning Phone shows a set of shapes. There are two of each shape.
2. The shapes are covered by numbers. Try to remember the positions of the shapes.
3. Uncover the pairs by pressing the number buttons.
After the second number is input your answer is
submitted.
4. Keep inputting number pairs until they are all

uncovered. After you correctly select the second to last pair the last pair will be automatically uncovered.
Math Magic
A useful calculator!
1. Key in an equation using the number buttons and the plus or minus button.
2. Press the answer button to see the result.
Music Maker
Be creative and compose a melody!
1. Compose a melody using the note buttons.
2. Press the repeat button to hear the melody played back.
Melody Mania
Listen to pre-recorded melodies.
1. Press the number keys to select different melodies to listen to.
