follow the appropriate instructions for your type of pool.
INSTALLATION (A)
FOR POOLS WITH ONE SKIMMER
FLOWKEEPER™ VALVE FOR POOLS WITH A SINGLE SKIMMER ONLY
The pool pump provides more gallon per minute flow than your G3 requires. That's why we provide a way to regulate the flow. The Flowkeeper Valve is self adjusting and provides a by-pass, so that the pool pump and the G3 run properly. In single skimmer installations the Flowkeeper Valve MUST BE used. Installations in a vac line or a second skimmer do not require the flowkeeper.
Rear View
To adjust setting, pull and move to desired setting.
Skimming action is maintained through a bypass throat in the valve. As the filter collects debris, the valve automatically maintains the correct flow to the cleaner. The Flowkeeper valve comes preset at the two (2) setting. The lower the number, the lower the flow to the cleaner head. Should readjustment become necessary, pull the adjustment handle to raise or lower the setting. There are three total setting options.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Sunlight (ultraviolet rays), water and swimming pool chemicals create a harsh environment. To increase the lifespan of the G3 and hose, you should:
1.
Remove the G3 from the pool before super chlorinating and reinstall it a minimum of four hours later.
2. Always store the hose straight or in its original box. To prevent memory, NEVER coil the hose. (Coiled hose can be straightened with hot water or by laying it on a warm pool deck for several hours.)

3. If you should develop an algae or chemical imbalance problem, remove the G3, follow the advice of
a qualified pool professional, and reinstall the G3 when the imbalance is corrected.
ALWAYS disconnect the hose from the skimmer or vacuum line BEFORE backwashing your filter.

Large foreign objects, such as children’s toys, tree branches and rocks, should be removed manually from your pool prior to operating an automatic pool cleaner. Inspect the diaphragm for the blockage or damage. If damage is evident, i.e., a cut or hole on the sides of the diaphragm, contact Zodiac Pool Care Canada, Ltd. (1-888-647-4004) for an authorized Zodiac warranty station.
If a blockage is apparent, grasp it and remove it. If this can’t be done, a garden hose may be used to flush the obstacle through. Do not use any sharp objects to probe or push an obstruction as this may damage the diaphragm.

COVERAGE
Normally it is undesirable for the return line water flow to affect the natural movement of the G3 hose. However, the following illustrations show how return line pressure can by used to balance cleaning coverage or to guide the cleaner away from step areas with "V" shaped corners.
A return line located anywhere along the shaded area can be utilized to elongate excess hose to "balance" pool coverage.
A return line located anywhere along the shaded area can be utilized to gently push the hose allowing the G3 to free itself from inpool obstacles.

PROBLEM SOLUTION
1. Machine does not move, or moves slowly. Confirm that the main drain is closed.
Ensure ideal flow is being attained using Pool Pulse Note: In water 60˚ F or less, it may be necessary to increase flow to compensate for the reduced flexibility of the hose and diaphragm.
.
Check diaphragm for damage or wear
and Maintenance)
.
(See Care
Backwash filter and empty pump basket.
Check for air in system. If water level in pump basket drops or you notice excessive air bubbles in pump basket or coming out of return jets, you have air in the system. Check hose connections, tighten all fittings at pump, and check gasket in pump basket for wear. You may need to have a pool professional check for air leaks in the lines.
2. Machine patterns or doesn't cover majority of pool.
Ensure ideal flow is being attained using Pool Pulse™. High flow will cause the cleaner to climb more.
Point return jets as far down as possible.
Make sure hose does not have memory frombeing coiled (See Care and Maintenance).
Ensure both hose weights are 1.5 metres from G3 head.
Confirm proper hose length.
(See Assembly Section)
3. Machine sticks on ladder. Ensure ideal flow is being attained using Pool Pulse™. Lower flow will bring the cleaner off the walls.
Ensure both hose weights are 1.5 metres from G3 head.
4. Machine sticks in steps. Check Pool Pulse™for ideal flow.
Ensure correct amount of hose is being used
(See Assembly).
Shorten if neccessary.
Utilize return jets as shown in adjusments section.
(See Adjustments Section)
5. Machine stays on walls or edge of pool. Reduce flow to low side of ideal range on Pool Pulse™.
Ensure both hose weights are 1.5 meters from G3 head.
6. Machine won't climb walls. Machine may not climb walls of some vinyl pools or pools with safety ledges.
Ensure both hose weights are 1.5 meters from G3 head.
Raise flow to high side of ideal range on Pool Pulse
