Read this manual to help understand the intent and operation of this tool prior to installing BAND-IT
clamps.
o Always wear safety glasses and appropriate gloves when operating this tool.
o Keep hands away from clamp while installing.
o Care should be taken to ensure fingers are not under the clamp being applied.
o Never use this product for anything other than its original intended purpose.
o Tool must be used by persons properly trained.
o Pay attention to the rules and regulations for preventions of accident which are valid for the
work place.
o Check tool regularly for broken or worn parts. Do not operate a tool with broken or worn parts.
o Never modify the tool. Modification can result in severe bodily injury.

o Always use the recommended clamping product with this tool.
o Always disconnect from air sources before performing any maintenance.
The BT1000 tool is to be used with BAND-IT ¾” (19 MM) Band and Seal only. Accordingly, BAND–IT–

Joining required: quick –disconnect coupling (female) for ¼” hose
Recommended air pressure: 95 PSI working 105 PSI max.
Maintenance
Depending on the working conditions and the use of the tool, the following
maintenance has to be made periodically:
1.Air Unit:
•Checking the air-pressure daily
•Checking oil-level daily
•The water separator must be emptied before it is full
•The filter has to be cleaned
•Check the function and proper adjustment of the lubricator daily (approximately
1-2 drops/min.)
2.Cleaning:
If impact of dirt and dust is considerable, the feed wheel must be cleaned regularly
using a steel wire brush .
3. Lubrication
The worm gear is filled with MOLYKOTE BR 2 PLUS. Use the same type of grease
after repair.
When being exchanged, all valve parts and other movable parts have to be greased
with grease of type Mobilus EP2 or with equivalent product.
The diaphragm must always be rubbed with TALCUM before being installed.

Feed the band through the seal, around the parts/object to be
strapped and again through the seal.
The band end is then bent. The operator then tensions the
loose loop manually making sure that the bent end is adjacent
to the object to be strapped.

2. Inserting the tool
The upper band is held with the left hand; the right hand lifts the
air motor and insert the tool from the right to the left and from
the rear to the front. The air motor is then released.

Press down the tension valve lever.
The lever is caught completely and the band is tensioned until
the air motor stalls. If the cycle has to be interrupted, the catch
has to be released to the left.

4. Sealing the band
The sealing valve lever is pressed down until the seal is
notched and the upper band sealed; the tensioning process is
interrupted (tension released) automatically.

The tool can now be released from the strapping without any
further action after completing the strapping cycle. By lifting
the air motor, the band end is removed from the tool.

6. Tension adjustment
The tension can be adjusted by adjusting the throttle screw. The air
supply is reduced by turning the screw clockwise, hence reducing
the tension.
The throttle screw is located at the rear end of the air motor.
Note: The tool tension speed has been factory set to maximum.

Sharp edged or deformed joints which do not appear as shown
have to be removed from the load and replaced immediately.
The tensile strength of these joints is insufficient and they could
cause serious injury.
