1.Aseparategasshut-offvalveshouldbeinstalledinthegaslineaheadoftheunit,asrequiredbycodes.
2.LIGHTING:Followtheinstructionsonpage5.
3.Atleast24inchesmustbeprovidedatthefrontofunitforservicing.
4.Wheninstalling,neverenclosethebottomareaoftheunitwitharaisedcurborotherconstructionthatwould obstructtheflowofairintotheunit.
5.Thisunitmaybeoperatedwith0”(sideandback)minimumclearancetonon-combustibleconstruction materials.

IMPORTANT:BeforeusingyourBaker'sPridegriddle,theprotectivecoatingthatwasappliedatthefactory mustbecompletelyremovedwithacommercialde-greaser.Afterathroughcleaningapplyahigh temperaturesaltfreefryingoilandyourunitisreadytouse.
B.UNPACKINGINSTRUCTIONS:
Carefullyunpackthegriddleandinspectimmediatelyforshippingdamages.YourGriddlewasshippedina
cartondesignedtogivemaximumprotectioninnormalhandling.Itwasthoroughlyinspectedbeforeleavingthe factoryandthecarrieracceptedandsignedforit.Fileanyclaimsforshippingdamageorirregularitieswiththecarrier.

Aseparategasshutoffvalve(suppliedwithunit)mustbeinstalledinthegaslineaheadoftheunit,asrequiredby codes(seeFig.A)..Gassupplylinemustbe¾”orlarger.Ifflexiblesemirigidconnectionsareused,theinsidediameter mustbetheequivalentof¾”ironpipeorlarger.AllconnectionsoftheflexibleandsemirigidtypemustbeAGAlisted andcomplywithapplicableANSIstandards.Makesuregaspipingiscleanandfreeofdirt,pipingcompoundand obstruction.Toinsuremaximumoperatingefficiency,thisappliancemustbeconnectedwithaGasSupplyLineofsolid pipeorwithaCommercialTypeFlexibleConnectorwithI.D.(insidediameter)equalorlargerthanthegaspipeinleton thisappliance.
CAUTION:BEFORELIGHTING,CHECKALLJOINTSINTHEGASSUPPLYLINEFORLEAKS.USESOAPAND WATERSOLUTION.DONOTUSEOPENFLAME.
Ifthegasconnectionsareleak-free,theunitisreadytouse.Followthelightinginstructions.
D.ELECTRICINSTALLATION(XSGONLY) Thisappliancewheninstalledmustbeelectricallygroundedinaccordancewithlocalcodes,orinthe
absenceoflocalcodes,withtheorthe

Theinstallationofelectricwiringfromtheelectricmeter,themaincontrolbox,andtheoutlettotheelectricappliance mustbeelectricallygroundedinaccordancewithlocalcodes,orintheabsenceoflocalcodeswiththeNational ElectricCodeANSI/NFPA70.InCanada,followtheCanadianElectricCodeCSA-C22.2.Allworkshouldbedoneby qualifiedinstallationpersonnel.

Thisapplianceisequippedwithathree-prong(grounding)plugforyourprotectionagainstshockhazardand shouldbepluggeddirectlyintoaproperlygroundedthree-prongreceptacle.Donotcutorremovethe groundingprongfromthisplug.
Thermostatsdonothavetobeturnedofftoturnoffyourgriddle.TheON/OFFtoggleswitchallowsthethermostatsto remainsetatyourcookingtemperaturewhenthegriddleisOFF.WhenthemainswitchisONthegriddleautomatically heatstoyourpre-setcookingtemperature. RedindicatorlightsnexttothethermostatsareONwhentheburnersareinoperation.Whenthesettemperatureis reached,thelightwillgoOFF.
E.LEVELINGADJUSTMENT
Allgriddlesareequippedwithadjustablelegstoprovideameansforproperlevelingduringinstallation.Thegriddlecan beleveledbyturningthebottomofthelegsuntilthe desiredpositionisachieved.Afterleveling,themanifoldshould thenbeconnectedtothegasline.
2.LIGHTINGINSTRUCTIONS
A.LIGHTINGINSTRUCTIONS
1.TurnoffallthermostatsorgascontrolsandmainShut-offvalveandwait5minutes.
2.TurnthemaingasvalvetoONpositionandlightstandingpilotsthroughtheholesinthefrontpanel.(FIG. B)
Thepilotassemblyislocatedabout10”intotheunitfromthefrontpanel.UseaBBQmatchoralighter atleast10”long.Alternativelypilotsarealsoaccessiblefromthebottomoftheunitandthedistanceis approximately6”.Insertamatchoralighterfromthebottomoftheunitwhilewatchingthroughthelighting holeinthefrontpaneltomakesureallpilotslightcorrectly.
3.Repeattheabovestepforallstandingpilots.Thereshouldbeslightyellowtiponthepilotflame.Makesureall thepilotsarelit.

4.TurnthetoggleswitchonthefrontpaneltoONposition(XSGmodelonly)

3.CLEANINGINSTRUCTIONS
A.CLEANING
Cleantheunitregularlyafteruse. Tocleangriddleplate,useafinegrainstoneorwarmwaterandcleanser.Occasionallycleanthegriddle withvinegarwhenthegriddleiscool,orclubsodawhilethegriddleisstillhot.Thiswillhelpmaintainaclean, newlook. Greasedrawermustbeemptiedasrequired.Donotallowgreasetooverflow. Usemildsoapordetergenttocleanchassisandstainlesssteelparts. ToserviceburnersorpilotsTURNOFFGASSUPPLYandremovefrontpanel. Disconnectthepowersupplybeforecleaningorservicing.
4.MAINTENANCEINSTRUCTIONS
A.MAINTENANCE
Toprovideproperoperationandinsurethesafetyoftheuser,thisequipmentmustbemaintainedandservicedbya trainedmaintenancepersonoranauthorizedserviceagencyatregularintervals.Disconnectthepowersupplyto appliancebeforecleaningorservicing.
1.Burnerportsmustbethoroughlycleaned.Venturimustbefreefromgreaseandlint.
2.Allplaceswhereoil,greaseorfoodcanaccumulatemustbekeptcleanallthetime.
3.Pilotlightmustbekeptcleanandadjustedattheproperflameheighttoassureconstantignitionandto preventfireflash-outscausedbydelayedignition.
4.Appliancefluehastobekeptcleanandfreeofanyobstructiontoensureunrestrictedflowofcombustion productsfromtheunit.
5.Carelessness,abusivehandling,oralteringequipmentcanshortenthelifeoftheequipmentandjeopardize thelimitedwarrantyofferedbyBaker'sPride.
