This instruction manual is split into two sections: section one provides instructions for use of the single Oyster Max stroller, section two provides instructions for use of the Oyster Max as a Tandem stroller.

Push in the front wheel quick-release button on the front wheel housing and push the wheel unit onto the front wheel axle stub until it stops. Hold the rear wheel and insert the rear wheel axle stub into the hole in the rear axle. Push in completely until you hear a click. Pull the wheel to check it is locked on. To fold the chassis there are two steps: It is important that each step is fully complete before moving onto the next.

FITTING/ REMOVING THE UPPER CARRYCOT TO/ FROM THE CHASSIS
WARNING: Children should be clear of moving parts while making adjustments.
The carrycot hood can be lowered (reclined backwards) by pressing in the two buttons (left & right) at the outside base of the hood opening. Push in the buttons and recline the hood. To erect the hood; lift up the hood until it clicks into position.

Push the ends of the bumper bar into the corresponding slots on the seat unit until the bumper bar locks into position. To remove the bumper bar, press in the bumper bar release button on the side of the seat; one right; one left. The position of the bumper bar can be adjusted by pressing the buttons on the insides of the bumper

The carrycots can only be fitted to the chassis when the seat units or car seats have been removed. The upper carrycot can only be fitted to the chassis facing the handle. Position the carrycot so that the fittings in the middle of the carrycot line up with the upper attachment device on the chassis. Push the carrycot down until it

FITTING
The Oyster car seat (LB321) is fitted to the Max chassis by using the LB321 Oyster car seat adaptors. The car seat can not be attached to the chassis until the seat unit or the carrycot has been removed.
Insert the car seat adaptors into the car seat, by pushing them into the cavity on the underside of

The Oyster Max carrycot and selected car seats (see table page 18) can be raised in height by use of the height adaptors.
To fit the height adaptors; insert the adaptors (marked L for left and R for right) into the attachment device and ensure they are locked into

FITTING THE Britax BABY-SAFE for OYSTER CAR SEAT UPPER POSITION
The car seat cannot be attached to the chassis until the seat unit or the carrycot has been removed. Insert the Britax car seat adaptors into the car seat following the instructions provided with the Britax car seat, these adaptors need to be inserted one time and are then integral to the seat unit. Insert the carrycot/ car seat height adaptors into the

REMOVING THE Britax BABY-SAFE for OYSTER CAR SEAT
Hold the car seat by the recessed handles in the adaptors located below the base of the car seat carry handle. Pull up on the two adaptor handles and lift the car seat away from the chassis.
To remove the car seat from the chassis: Pull up the release handles located on either side of the car seat on the adaptor and lift the car seat away from the chassis. The release handles are shown in the image on page 18 and described as recessed handles.
The Oyster Max chassis can be combined with car seats from other leading brands. For details, see the table below. Always check with your retailer that you have the correct car seat adaptors if adaptors are required.

REMOVING A CAR SEAT WHEN FITTED WITH THE MULTI ADAPTORS - UPPER POSITION
The car seat can not be attached to the chassis until the seat unit or the carrycot has been removed. Always apply the parking brake before placing your child in the vehicle. The restraint system (safety harness) has two shoulder straps, a circular waist belt and a crotch strap. Place the two shoulder straps over the childs shoulders and the waist belt around the childs waist. The crotch strap should be placed between the childs legs. The waist belt &

FITTING THE FOOTMUFF
The footmuff top cover can be removed by unfastening the zip. The base of the footmuff can be used as a seat liner without the top part. To attach the footmuff to the seat unit: Release the harness clips from the centre buckle and release the shoulder straps from the waist belts at the buckle connection. Pass the shoulder straps and
buckle connection. Pass the shoulder straps and waist belts through the corresponding openings in the footmuff. Pass the crotch strap through the opening in the footmuff.
FITTING THE STROLLER RAIN COVER
The rain cover needs the stroller hood to be fitted to support it. For the upper seat; Place the rain cover over the back of the seat unit hood; Fasten the Velcro strips at the front of the rain cover around the front legs of the chassis (when the seat unit is facing forwards). When the seat unit is facing rearwards, fasten the Velcro strips at the
facing rearwards, fasten the Velcro strips at the front of the rain cover around the rear legs to secure. For the lower seat: place the rain cover over the front of the seat unit leg rest and stretch over the seat unit towards the hood. Pull over the back of the hood to secure.
FITTING THE CARRYCOT RAIN COVER
With the carrycot hood in the upright position, place the rain cover over the hood so that the flap on the rain cover corresponds with the opening in the carry cot hood. Pull the rain cover down to the rear of the hood so that the elasticated edge covers the rear of the carrycot. Ease the front part of the rain cover over the apron and down and

The Oyster Max (upper seat) has a multi-function hood that helps to protect your child from the elements. The hood is extendable and has a viewing window. The hood can also be removed altogether.
TO REMOVE/ FIT THE HOOD
To maximise the hood coverage there is a zippered section in the middle of the upper seat unit hood. Unfasten the zip and extend the hood. Fasten the zip to reduce the hood coverage.
The upper seat unit has an integrated insect shade net concealed in a zippered pocket underneath the leg rest. Unfasten the zip and unfurl the insect net. The elasticated top part of the insect net attaches over the hood frame. There are two press-stud tabs on the sides of the net which fasten to press-studs on the seat backrest. To stow the insect net; fold

Place the bottom part of the apron over the leg rest. The press-studs at the side of the apron allow the apron to be fastened around the bumper bar. Pass the top of the apron under the bumper bar and fasten the press-studs at the top of the apron to the corresponding press-studs on the back of the seat backrest. FITTING/ REMOVING ITEMS IN THE LOWER POSITION
Fitting items in the lower position on the Oyster Max chassis requires three processes: The removal of the plugs, the fitting of the tandem adaptors and the fitting of the item. The wheel guards must also be fitted when the second seat is in use. Car seats may require additional adaptors: See table on page 18 for details.

There are three items that can be fitted in the lower position on the Oyster Max chassis: The lower (Tandem) seat unit, carrycot or a car seat.
FITTING/ REMOVING THE COVER PLUGS
To fit the plugs when the lower position is no longer in use; push the block into the corresponding aperture until the button clicks into place.
To remove the plugs from the rear of the chassis; Press the button located on the inside rear of the chassis behind the brake bar. Lift out the plug from the slot, repeat this action on both sides of the chassis. This aperture is where the tandem adaptors will be fitted.
Remove the cover plug from the aperture.
The plugs are the plastic blocks that fill the aperture where the tandem adaptors locate. They act as cover plugs when the lower position is not in use. To fit items in the lower position, the plugs have to be removed.
FITTING/ REMOVING THE TANDEM ADAPTORS
The lower position requires tandem adaptors to allow either the lower seat unit, the carrycot or a car seat to fit the Oyster Max chassis.
To fit the adaptors: Step 1. Remove the cover plug as described on page 26.

To fit the seat unit, the tandem adaptors need to be fitted.
To fit the seat unit to the chassis: Hold the seat at either side of the backrest and lower the seat unit into the tandem adaptors left and right. Push down until the seat clicks and locks into position. Ensure the seat is locked into position by trying to pull the

To recline the seat unit: Locate the lever on the rear of the backrest and lift up before reclining backwards,To return to the upright position, with the lever lifted, push the seat forwards.

To fit the seat hood; Locate the hood attachment housing on the seat unit. Insert the fittings on the hood into the corresponding housings on the seat unit (1) until they click and lock. With the hood frame reclined pull the hood fabric over the back of the seat. (2) Fasten the press-studs on the hood to the seat

To fit the carrycot in the lower position the tandem adaptors have to be fitted by following the instructions in the sections fitting/ removing the cover plugs and fitting/ removing the tandem adaptors.The carrycot can only be fitted to the chassis when the seat unit or car seat has been removed. The lower carrycot can only be fitted to

FITTING/ REMOVING COMPATIBLE CAR SEATS TO THE LOWER POSITION.
The Oyster car seat along with compatible car seats can be fitted in the lower position on the Oyster Max chassis. Instructions detailing compatible car seats and methods for fitting can be found on pages 16-19 and 34.
