BaByliss brings you a professional high temperature
ceramic coated curling tong and brush for use at home
or on the move. The cordless tong and brush gives you
the versatility to create curls, waves,  icks, texture and
lift. The ceramic coating has a  awlessly smooth surface
giving you smooth styling for a perfect  nish.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

To insert or change the Energy Cell

• Remove the base of the tong handle.

• Remove the cap from the energy cell.

• Place the energy cell into the handle, the top inserted
 rst.

• Twist the energy cell clockwise and screw  rmly in place.

• Replace the handle base.

To switch the tong on

• Push the ‘on’ switch and wait for approximately 5
seconds.

• Depress the start switch on the handle of the tong
several times.

• The light at the end of the barrel should now be on and
the tong should begin to heat up.

• Wait for 1 minute, the tong is now ready for use.

WARNING: The barrel will get very hot within a few
seconds and should not be placed in contact with the
skin after the curling tong is turned on.

IMPORTANT: Take care to avoid the hot surfaces of the
appliance coming into direct contact with the skin, in
particular the eyes, ears, face and neck.

For best results

• The curling tong will heat up very quickly.

• Always do a test curl before using the tong to ensure
that it is at the correct temperature.

• To avoid crimped ends, make sure they are securely
wound under the spoon in the direction of the desired
curl. (Remember to always place the spoon on top of a
section when making a curl you want rolled under; place
the spoon under the section when making a  ip style)

• Wind the hair as far as you want it curled, being
careful not to let the tong touch the scalp. Hold in place
for 5-8 seconds, depending on the texture and length

of your hair. For tighter, bouncier curls, take smaller
sections of hair. For loose, free- owing curls, take
larger sections of hair.

• To remove curling tong, press the automatic curl
release and slide tong out sideways. To ‘set’ the curl,
do not comb or brush hair until it cools.

Using the brush sleeve

For softer waves and body, use the brush attachment.
Ensuring the barrel is cool, slide the brush attachment
over the tong. Separate a section of hair and wind around
brush, hold in place for approximately 10 seconds and
gently unwind. Allow hair to cool before styling.

After styling

At the end of styling, push the ‘off’ switch and allow to
cool before replacing the protective heat shield.

To check level of energy cell

Check the level of fuel left in the energy cell by looking at
the clear base of the cell while in a horizontal position
(see  gure 1). If cell is empty, replace with a new BaByliss
energy cell.

• Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures
over 120°F (50˚C).

• Do not pierce, puncture or incinerate the energy cell
even after it is empty.

• If using aerosol sprays or  ammable liquids such as
hairspray, allow at least 5 minutes before igniting the
tong to let  ammable vapours disperse.

• When igniting the tong, hold it away from hair and
clothing. Do not ignite while tong is in the hair.

• Do not cover the tong with the hand while igniting.

• Do not leave unattended while switched on.

• Careful adult supervision is required when the
appliance is used on or near children or some
disabled persons.

• Keep out of the reach of children.

• Allow the appliance to cool before storing away.

• Do not place the appliance on any heat sensitive
surfaces whilst in operation.

• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
Do not allow to become wet.

• This appliance should only be used as described within
this instruction booklet. Please retain for reference.

• Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable
signs of damage, or if the appliance has been dropped.

Air Travel

Please note that only one unit containing an energy cell
may be carried per person aboard an aircraft inside your
check-in-bags. Additional energy cells are not permitted.
The protective heat shield must be securely in position
over the heating element. This is subject to the individual
airline’s discretion. Please check with the airline before
you travel.

UK GUARANTEE

This BaByliss appliance is guaranteed for consumer
use for three years. This guarantee is no longer valid in
case of alteration or repair by any unauthorised persons
and covers defects under normal use from the date of
purchase. If your product does not perform satisfactorily
because of defects in materials or manufacture, it will
be repaired or replaced under guarantee through the
BaByliss After Sales Service. BaByliss reserve the right
to amend terms and speci cations without prior notice.

This guarantee in no way affects your rights under
statutory law.
