USED TERMS:
Blackout: A state where the overall DMX output is set to 0, commonly extinguishes any activity from any
connected DMX-controlled lighting fixture
DMX-512: A term which states the name of the used protocol to control intelligent stage lighting
Fixture: Refers to the device that projects light (such as a DMX LED Parcan, DMX dimmer, movinghead,
scanner or lighting effect)
Programs: Also named Chase. A chase consists of a set of scenes, arranged in a specific order, continuously looping with a variable speed.
Scene: Static lighting situations with certain values/positions
Sliders: Also called Faders. A knob that can slide from one position to another, variable
Chases: See: Programs
Scanner: Refers to a lighting fixture, equipped with a mirror, capable of moving up and down by using
stepping motors. Most DMX-controllers use this term to describe an intelligent DMX-controlled lighting fixture (such as movingheads, lighting effects or LED Parcans)
MIDI: A standard of presenting musical information in digital format. Also capable of sending certain control signals from one device to another and vice versa.
Stand Alone: The function of a fixture/lighting device to run one or several internal programs without using a DMX lighting controller
Fade slider: Determines the amount of time it takes to change the values between the switch from one scene to another (functional with movement and RGB color mixing) in a chase
Speed slider: Determines the time between one scene and another in a chase
Shutter: A mechanical device inside a lighting fixture, used to temporarily block any output from the device
Patching: The process of re-assigning certain DMX-channels to certain channels on your DMX console for
your convenience. (E.g. when you have different fixtures with the same options on different channels)
Playback: Scenes or chases, activated by the user in live mode.

Setting up the device
- Place the device on a flat surface, or mount it in a 19 inch flightcase or rack.
- Plug the AC/DC power converter (supplied) into the rear panel of the unit and plug the other end into a wall outlet or power distribution system.
- Connect your DMX-lighting by using XLR-XLR cables (Ayra recommends using special DMX 110 Ohm cables, such as Procab REF953). Daisy-chain all your DMX lighting until every fixture is connected. Set the correct DMX addresses (see the manuals of every individual product).
- Turn on the unit
Physical fader assignment (OPTIONAL)
IT is possible to collect certain fixture attributes and control them by using just a few of your faders. This might come in useful when you use different fixtures with similar functions, on different channels. This way you are able to patch certain DMX-channels (functions) to a certain control channel of your DMX console.
This function is useful for movement (pan/tilt), gobo change, color change, color mix, dimming and strobe features of your DMX fixtures.
1. Press and hold the RECORD button.
2. While holding the RECORD button, press flash button 6 three times
3. While in this mode, press the Flash button that you wish to assign the DMX channel output to.
4. While holding RECORD, press the Flash button corresponding to the DMX output that you wish to assign the fader to.

NOTE: All physical faders can be assigned to output on a different DMX-channel. For optimal control, you are able to place a different label on the controller. You can check what the assignment of a certain channel is, by pressing the Fader button of the corresponding channel while in this mode There is no limit to the amount of channels that can be assign to a single fader. You are able to assign all 48 DMX-channels to one fader. CHNO corresponds to the physical channel fader. SLDNO corresponds to the DMX output channel
Switching between Page A and Page B (1-24, 25-48)
Press and hold the RECORD button. While doing that, press the PAGE A-B button. If you are on page A, you will go to page B and vice versa. channel. It has HTP (Highest Takes Priority) value settings.
DMX:
DMX is a protocol with 512 channels. Each channel may contain a value between 0 and 255 (256 values).
A lighting fixture ‘listens’ to certain channels by setting the correct DMX starting address. From that position, the unit will listen to that particular channel and if needed, also the following channels.
For example, a 6-channel device, with a starting address of 22, will ‘listen’ to channel 22 – 27. Starting addresses can be chosen in any particular order of connected fixtures. Also the order of the connected fixtures is not important.
DMX-controlled devices can be daisy-chained using XLR-XLR cables. AYRA recommends the use of 110 Ohm DMX cables and a DMX terminator (110 Ohm, see below) at the end of a DMX chain.
