becomesshorter,theradardoesn’tclassifyobjectscorrectly,andfalsealarmsoccurduetointerferencebetweentheradars.

Calibratetheradar
Theradarisreadytouseassoonasitisinstalled.Thedefaultliveviewwillshowtheradarcoverageandanydetectedmovement,and
youcanadddetectionzonesandrulesrightaway.
Iftheradarismounted3.5m(11ft)aboveground,thereisnoneedtodoanythingelse.Iftheradarismountedonadifferentheight
youneedtocalibratetheradartocompensateforthemountingheight.
Tomakeiteasiertoseewhereobjectsaremoving,youcanuploadareferencemap,forexampleagroundplanoranaerialphoto,
thatshowstheareacoveredbytheradar.
Imagerequirements:
•Supportedleformatsarejpegandpng.
•Theimagecanbecroppedintheradar.
•Theimagecanberotated±35°intheradar.
•Theorientationisnotimportant,sincetheradarcoverageshapewillmovetoadapttotheimageduringcalibration.
Afteruploadingthereferencemapyouneedtocalibratethereferencemapsothattheactualradarcoveragetstheposition,
directionandscaleofthereferencemap.
Therearetwomethodsforcalibratingthereferencemap:
•Pins(easy):Thiscalibrationisperformedinthewebinterfacebyclickinginthereferencemap.Thisistheeasiestwayto
calibratethereferencemap,andyoucanuseitifyoudonothavephysicalaccesstothesite.
•Tracks(accurate):Thiscalibrationmethodrequiresapersontomoveinfrontoftheradar.Thisisthemostaccuratewayto
calibratethereferencemap,butyoucan’tuseitifthereisalotofothermovementinthescene.
Youcandothisyourselfwhileaccessingthewebinterfacefromamobiledevice,orhavesomeoneelsemoveand
followyourinstructions.
Whenmovingaroundinthedifferentsteps,movetoplacesthatareeasytondinthereferencemap.

Aboutdetectionzones
Todeterminewheretodetectmotion,youcanaddmultiplezones.Differentzonescanbeusedtotriggerdifferentactions.
Therearetwotypesofzones:
•Anincludezoneisanareainwhichmovingobjectswilltriggerrules.Thedefaultincludezonematchestheentire
areacoveredbytheradar.
•Anexcludezoneisanareainwhichmovingobjectswillbeignored.Useexcludezonesifthereareareasinsideaninclude

Itispossibletousetheinformationaboutobjects’positionsfromtheradartomakeaPTZcameratrackobjects.
Therearetwowaystodothis:
•Usethebuilt-inRadarautotracking.UsethisoptionwhenyouhaveonePTZcameraandoneradarmountedveryclose
together.Thisoptioncreatesanedgetoedgesolutionwheretheradardirectlycontrolsthecamera.
-GotoSettings>System>Radarautotracking.
-EntertheIPaddress,usernameandpasswordforthePTZcamera.
-ClickConnectandfollowtheinstructions.
•InstallAXISRadarAutotrackingforPTZonyourVMSserver(oranothercomputerwithaccesstoboththecameraand
theradar),andfollowtheinstructionsintheapplication.

Howtominimizefalsealarms
Ifyounoticethatyougettoomanyfalsealarms,youcanlteroutcertaintypesofmovementorobjects,changethecoverage,or
adjustthedetectionsensitivity.Testwhichsettingsworkbestforyourenvironment.
•Adjustthedetectionsensitivity:
GotoSettings>Radar>DetectionandselectalowerDetectionsensitivity.Thisdecreasestheriskoffalsealarms,butit
couldalsocausetheradartomisssomemovement.Thesensitivitysettingaffectsallzones.
-Low:Usethissensitivitywhentherearealotofmetalobjectsorlargevehiclesinthearea.Itwilltakelongertime
fortheradartotrackandclassifyobjects.Thiscanreducethedetectionrange,especiallyforfastmovingobjects.
-High:Usethissensitivitywhenyouhaveanopeneldwithoutmetalobjectsinfrontoftheradar.Thiswill
increasethedetectionrangeforhumans.
•Modifytheincludeandexcludezones:
Iftheincludezoneincludeshardsurfaces,suchasametalwall,theremaybereectionsthatcausesmultipledetectionsfor
asinglephysicalobject.Inthiscase,modifytheincludezone,seeModifyadetectionzoneonpage12,oraddanexclude
zonethatmaskseverythingbehindthesurface,seeAddanexcludezoneonpage11.
•Filteronmovement:
GotoSettings>Radar>DetectionandselectIgnoreswayingobjects.Thissettingwillminimizefalsealarmsfromtrees,
bushes,andagpolesinthecoveragezone.
•Filterontime:
GotoSettings>RMDzonesandselectazonetomodifyitssettings.
EnableShort-livedobjectandsetadelaytimefromwhentheradarstartstrackinganobjectuntilitcantriggerandalarm.
Thetimerstartswhentheradarrstdetectstheobject,notwhentheobjectenterstheincludezone.
•Filteronobjecttype:
Theradarwillclassifyobjectsdependingontheradarechothattheyproduce.Ifitcan’tdeterminetheobjecttype,the
objectwillbeclassiedasUnknown.
GotoSettings>RMDzonesandselectazonetomodifyitssettings.
Toavoidtriggeringonspecicobjecttypes,enablethelteranddeselecttheobjecttypesthatshouldnottriggerevents

Toresettheproducttothefactorydefaultsettings:
1.Disconnectpowerfromtheproduct.
2.Pressandholdthecontrolbuttonwhilereconnectingpower.SeeProductoverviewonpage20.
3.Keepthecontrolbuttonpressedfor15–30secondsuntilthestatusLEDindicatorashesamber.
4.Releasethecontrolbutton.TheprocessiscompletewhenthestatusLEDindicatorturnsgreen.Theproducthasbeenreset

devicearelocatedondifferentsubnets,youcannotsettheIPaddress.Contactyournetwork
administratortoobtainanIPaddress.
DisconnecttheAxisdevicefromthenetwork.Runthepingcommand(inaCommand/DOSwindow,
typepingandtheIPaddressofthedevice):
