Read instructions: Retain these safety and operating instructions for future reference. Adhere to all
warnings printed here and on the console power unit. Follow the operating instructions printed in this
operating manual.
Do not remove cove rs: Operate t he power unit with its cov ers correctl y fitted. Ref er any servic e work
to competent technic al personnel only.
Power sources: Connect the power unit to a mains power only of the type descri bed in this Operating
manual and marked on t he rear panel . Use the AC cord provi ded wit h the c onsole. If the prov ided plug does
not fit into your outlet consult your service agent f or assistanc e.
Power co rd ro uting : Route the power cord so that it is not likely to be walk ed on, stretc hed or pinched
by items placed upon or against it.
Grounding: Do not defeat the grounding and polarisati on means of the po wer cord pl ug. Do not rem ove
or tamper with the ground c onnec tion in the power cord.
Water and moisture:To reduce the risk of fire or elect ric shock do not expose the power unit or consol e
to rain or m oisture or use it in damp or wet conditions. Do not pl ace containers of liqui ds on it which might
spill into any openings.
Ventilation:Do not obstruct the ventilati on slots or positi on the console or power unit where the air fl ow
required for ventilation is impeded.
Environment: Protect from excessive dirt, dust, heat and vibration when operating and storing. Av oid
tobacco ash, sm oke, dri nks spill age, and ex posure to r ai n and m oi sture. If the console becomes wet , s witc h

Installation: Install the console in ac cordance with the instructions print ed in this Operating Manual. Do
not connect the output of power am plifiers directly to t he console. Use connect ors only for thei r intended
purpose.
Damage: To prevent damage to t he controls and cosmetics av oid placing heav y objects on the control
surface, scratching the surface with sharp objec ts, or subjecting the console to rough handling and vibration.
Radiation: To avoi d induced noise and interf erence pickup do not operat e the console close to strong
sources of electromagnetic radiation such as power suppl ies, lighting cables and dimm ers.
Cleaning: Avoid the use of chemical s, abrasives or solvents. The cont rol panel is best cleaned wit h a sof t
brush and dry li nt-f ree cloth. Do not leave mar king t ape stuck to the con sole for long peri ods of tim e as the
adhesive can degrade and leave a sticky residue. T he faders, switches and potenti o meters are lubricated for
life. The use of electrical lubricants on these parts is not rec ommended.
Transporting: The console should be transported i n the original pac ki ng. Protect the contr ol surface from

3 OXYGEN 3 SERIES - OVERVIEW
Oxygen 3 quality. The Ox ygen 3 and 3 S T are sp eci ally designed On- Ai r broadc ast consoles. Al t hough
the design has been carefully budgeted, no compromises has been made in either quality or features.
Electronic components have been selected from the best on the market. Faders, potentiometers and
switches are by ALPS. Most al l of t he swit ches hav e led indi cat ors and all simil ar func tions are groupe d an d
colour coded, with additional fader knobs with different channel colour coding. Long throw faders give a
smooth, repeatable response. Tel ephone module features a built-in, high quality telephone hybrid. Wood
finishing t ouc h ar e also available on request.
Self Co nta ined . The Oxygen 3 and 3 S T are com plete and sel f c ontained pieces of hardware, requi ring
no additonal items in order to be operated. All relevent functions are buil t-in
and ‘On Air lamp’ control (facility available on series on the Channel 1 module and, as an option, on
Channels 2 and 3).
Two versions. Oxygen 3 console is available in two versions: with or without EQ controls on Input
channels (respectively called Oxygen 3 and Oxygen 3 S T).
Each console has always two balanced outputs (Out 1 and Out2) plus a number of unbalanced outputs
provided on Pin Rca c onnec tors.
Furthermor e, while the Oxygen 3 features unbalanced LINE inputs (PinRca connect or s), the Oxygen 3 ST
features elect r onically balanced LINE inputs on Jack 1/4” female connectors.

7.1 MASTER outputs
The Oxygen 3’s Master section gives the operator an extensive set of resources.
In addition to two Master bal anced output s (Out 1 and Out 2, carried on DB15 f emale connector), pr ovision
has been made for an unbalanced, level-controlled output on PinRca connector (Out 3), an unbalanced,
fixed level on Pi nRca connector (Fixed) and two Mono outputs (summi ng the left and ri ght channels and

7.2 MONITOR OUT and EXT-IN connections (OXYGEN 3 and 3 ST)
The Oxygen 3’s Monitor secti on gives the operator an extensive set of resources.
In addition to monitoring the Master and PFL audio buses, provision has been made for monitoring an
external audi o source. This stereo input (Ext -In) is intended to be connected to mi crowave, FM or satellite
receivers or anot her studio.
MONITOR output is a stereo line-lev el output, provided f or connection to a power amplifi er associated with
loudspeakers.
A selectiv e ‘muting’ of Monitor speakers is also provi ded on series. W hen microphone 1 is live to air, the
monitor speakers i n the room containing the microphone wil l be muted
Oxygen 3 and O xygen 3 ST come from th e factory with Muting facility associated to Slid er opening
on Channel 1. On request, this faci lity may be exten ded to Input ch annels 2 and 3, too (by means of
regular slid er replacement – ref to par. 3 - Options)
The slider opening on Channel 1 is also associated to a photocupler closing on TB
SubD 9 pin connector. This photocoupler may be used to control an On Air Lamp (such as MR.
LIGHT by A x e l Technology ).
