(1) NOTICE
Thank you for choosing an Award range hood. Please rea d the instruction
manual carefully before use.
The installation work must be undertaken by a qualified and competent
person.
The manufacturer disclaims all liabi lity for any damage or injury caused
as a result of not following instructi ons for insta llation contained in the following text.
The range hood operates on 220-240V ~, 50Hz.
(2) INSTALLATION
When the range hood is located above a gas
appliance, this distance shall be at least 65 cm between the supporting surface for the cooking vessels on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood. See pic 1.
When installing on wall: drill 3 holes Ø8mm
100mm apart (on a suitable surface that will hold the weight of the hood) in line with the hook on the hood.
Insert expended screws into the holes.
Fix the hook on the wall, place drilling templa te on th e ho ok. Se e pic 2.
Fit the ducting (Not included with t he range hood) to the one way valve,
and run it outdoor. See pic 3.
Calculate the final height of the U-shaped section, pull out the inside U-
shaped section to a suitable height. (See pic 4). Finally, drill 2 holes Ø8mm in line with the 2
nd
plate. Insert expended screws into the holes.
Put the inside U-shaped on the 2
nd
plate and tighten the two screws (see
pic 4A).
Note: Fix the Canopy with safety screws. See Pic 5. The two safety screw holes are positioned on the back casing, with diameter of 6mm.
Warning: Failure to install the screws or fixing device in acc ordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
If you do not have an outlet to the o utsi de , the d uc ti ng is not requir ed and the installation is similar to the one shown in the “INSTALLATION (VENT OUTSIDE)” section
Activated carbon filter can be used to trap odors.
In order to i nstall the activated carbon filter, the metallic anti-grease filter should be detached first. P ress the lock and pull it downward.
Plug the activated carbon filter into the unit and turn it anti-clockwise. Repeat the same on t he other side.
NOTE:
Make sure the filter is sec urely locked. Otherwise, it could loosen and
cause damage to the unit.
When activated carbon filter is attached, the suction power will be
lowered.
(3) NOTICE OF INSTALLATION
The following rules must be strictly followed to obtain optimal air extraction:
Do not install above a cooker with a high level grill.
Important! Alw ays switch off the electricity sup ply at the mains during
installation and mainte nance.
The range hood must be installed in accordance with the installation
instructions and all mea surements followed.
Please dispose of the packi ng material carefully . It may be a risk to
children.
Pay attention to the sharp edges inside t he range hood especially during
installati on and cleaning.
When the range hood is located above a gas appliance, the minimum
distance between the su pporting surf ace for the cooking ve ssels on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood that distance must be: Gas cookers: 65cm Electric cookers: 65 cm Coal or oil cookers: 75 cm
Make sure the ducting has no bends less than 120º as this will reduce the
efficiency of the range hood.
Warning: Failure to insta ll the screws or fixing device in accordance with
these instructions m ay result in elec trical hazards
If the supply cord is damaged, i t must be replaced by the manufacture r, its
service agent or simila rly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Warning: Befo re obtaining access to te rminals, all supply circuits must be
disconnected.
For safety reason, please use only the s ame size of f ixing or mounting
screw which a re recommended in this instruction manual.
When the range hood and appliances supplied with energy other than
electricity are simultaneou sly in operation, the negative press ur e in th e room must not exceed 4 Pa (4 x 10-5 bar).
Keep ducting pipe short and straight.
Do not reduce the size or re strict ducting pipe.
When using ducting pipe always insta l l th e pipe pull e d ta ut to minimize
pressure loss.
Failure to observe these b asic instructions will reduce the performance and
increase no ise levels of the range hood.
Any installat ion work must be carried o ut by a qualif ied electrician or
competent pers o n.
Do not connect the ducting system of the hood to any existing ventilation
system which is being used for any ot her appliance, such as warmer tube, gas tube, hot wind tube.
The angle of the bend of the expansion pipe should not be less tha n 120º;
you must direct the p ipe hor iz on ta lly , or, alte r nat i vely, the pipe should go up from the initial point and should be led to an outer wall.
After the installation, make sure that the range hood is level to a void
grease collection at on e nd.
Ensure the ducting pipe selected for installation complies with rele vant
standards and is fire retardant.
(4) SAFETY WARNING
The range hood is not to be used by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensor y or mental c apabilitie s, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supe rvision or instruction.
Children being super vi se d not to play with the range hood.
The range hood is for home use only, not suitable for barbecue o r
commercial application.

There shall be adequate ve ntilation of the room when the range hood is
used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels.
Caution: The range hood and its accessi ble parts can become hot during
operation. Children younger than 8 years old should stay away unless they are under permanent supervision.
There is a fire risk if cleaning is not carried out in ac cordance with the
instructions.
Regulations concerning the discharge of air have to be fulfil led.

(6) MAINTENANCE
The cleaning of the carbon grease filter me sh
The filter mesh is made of high-density stainless steel. Do not us e
corrosive detergent on it.
Keeping this filter clean will keep the range hood running correctly.
Strictly follow the guide lines below.
Method 1: Put the mesh int o 40-50 c clean water, pour on de tergent, and
soak for 2-3 mins. Wear gloves and clean with a soft brush. Do not app ly too much pressure, as the mesh is delicate and wil l damage easy.
Method 2: If instructed to do so, it can be put into a d ishwasher, se t the
temperature at around 60 degrees
.
Notice of cleaning range hood
To protect the main body from corros ion over a lo ng period of time, the
range hood should be cleaned with hot water plus non corrosive detergent every two months.
Do not use abrasive detergent as they w ill da m a ge the body.
