Install Your Light Tower & Relay Adapter
Do not use the Light Tower & Relay Adapter (LTA) in hazardous (classified) locations or life/safety applications.
Step 1: Connect your Light Tower & Relay Adapter to your Room Alert monitor.
Your Light Tower & Relay Adapter comes with a 25' RJ-11 cable.
1. Connect one end of the RJ-11 cable to the digital port on the Light Tower & Relay
Adapter ID box.
2. Connect the other end to the Light Tower/Relay Switch port on the compatible Room
Alert ID box or digital port on the Room Alert 3E model.
Step 2: Connect your Light Tower & Relay Adapter to a power source.
Your Light Tower & Relay Adapter comes with AVTECH’s International Power Adapter.
1. First connect AVTECH’s International Power Adapter to the power port on the Light
Tower & Relay Adapter.
2. Then plug it into a power source.
Use only AVTECH’s International Power Adapter with AVTECH monitors and sensors; others could damage your product and will void the warranty.

Step 3: Connect your Light Tower & Relay Adapter to your Relay Switch Sensor or Light Tower.
AVTECH’s Light Tower (any model) and Relay Switch Sensor each come with a custom cable that connects to your Light Tower & Relay Adapter via the custom port.
1. Connect one end of the custom cable to the Light Tower & Relay Adapter’s custom port.
2. Connect the other end to the custom port on the Relay Switch Sensor. AVTECH’s Light
Towers have the custom cord built-in or already connected.
Step 4: Connect your Light Tower & Relay Adapter to a set of dry contacts on an electrical appliance.
Disconnect power to the electrical appliance before beginning. Do not connect the dry contacts on AVTECH products or other electrical appliances
to live circuits. Use onl
low-voltage 2-wire cable to connect dry contacts.
You may use any two-wire low-voltage cable to connect the relay port on the adapter to dry contacts on your electrical appliance. AVTECH stocks 25' speaker wire for this purpose; please contact us if you need cable.
1. Separate and strip both ends of a low-voltage, two-wire cable (such as speaker wire).
Expose about ¼" of wire.
2. Connect one end of the speaker wire to the pair of dry contacts on the Light Tower &
Relay Adapter. The relay port’s dry contacts are non-polarized, so you may insert either side of the wire into either contact.
3. Connect the other end to the dry contacts on your desired electrical appliance.
