INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the AVS 4601 immobiliser system for your vehicle. The AVS 4601 is designed to provide a high level of protection for your vehicle and has been tested and certified to meet AS/NZS 4601:1999.
SYSTEM FEATURES
Auto-immobilisation:
The AVS 4601 will automatically immobilise 38 seconds after the ignition is switched OFF. The LED will light solid to indicate it is in auto-immobilise mode. This feature cannot be turned off and is part of the AS/NZ standard.
Vehicles with central locking: Make sure you watch the indicators flash once when you arm the system. (You may wish to discuss with your installer fitting an optional siren, so you can hear when you have armed your car).
NOTE: If you take longer than 38 seconds to exit your vehicle, when you press the remote button thinking to lock the vehicle, you will actually be turning the immobiliser off temporarily and leaving your car unlocked. You must in this instance press your remote button a second time to lock your vehicle and turn the immobiliser back on. If the indicators flash once you have correctly armed the system.
Arm by remote (and lock if central locking is connected):
The system is activated by pressing the top button (closest to the remote’s LED) on the remote. The indicators will flash once and (if fitted) the siren will chirp once. If central locking is connected the doors will lock. The LED light on the dash will stay on for 20 seconds then flash. NOTE: The alarm will not activate until the LED on the dash starts flashing.
Disarm by remote:
To disarm the immobiliser, press the top button (closest to the remote’s LED) on the remote. The indicators will flash twice and (if fitted) the siren will chirp twice. If central locking is connected the doors will unlock. The LED light on the dash will stop flashing.
Silent arm/disarm:
Push both remote buttons together to silent arm/disarm.
Low remote battery warning:
When the battery in the remote is almost flat the remote’s LED will flash instead of lighting constantly when a button is pressed.
Auto re-arm and re-lock (programmable):
If the system is disarmed and a door is not opened within 60 seconds the system will rearm and (if central door locking is connected) re-lock the doors. NOTE: The immobiliser will auto immobilise after 38 seconds then at the 60 second mark will fully arm and (if central door locking is connected) lock the doors.
Door ajar warning (programmable):
If the vehicle’s doors are not properly closed when you try to activate the immobiliser system, the indicators will flash for three seconds to alert you that the vehicle is not secure.
