General Information
The purpose of this Operation Manual is to provide
information to ensure proper operation of this product.
It is the responsibility of those desiring to install this item on or
within a specific type or class of certified aircraft to document
and obtain approval for an acceptable installation from the
Administrator.
Unpacking and Inspection of AI-SSR and AI-SSR Antenna
Exercise extreme care when unpacking the AI-SSR and
AI-SSR Antenna. Make a visual inspection of the units for
evidence of damage incurred during shipment. If a claim for
damage is to be made, the units must be returned in the
original packaging.
To Receive Sirius Satellite Radio
The Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver holds a “SIRIUS ID” for
user identification. To obtain a subscriber contract and enable
reception of Sirius Satellite Radio, call the Sirius Service
Center (888-539-SIRI) or on the web www.sirius.com
need to provide the Sirius ID and a few other details.
For your “SIRIUS ID” refer to the “Verifying your Sirius ID” in
the “OPERATIONS” section.

Precautions
Temperature
Be sure the temperature inside the aircraft is between +60°C (140°F)
and –10°C (14°F) before turning your unit on
Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe dirt off of the AI-SSR. Never use a hard
clothe or a cloth soaked with thinner, alcohol etc.
Initial Operation
The first time or when starting after power interruption to the keep alive
line, the receiver does not respond until the reception is reestablished.
This may take as long as a minute to verify your “SIRIUS ID”
Text Data regarding names of received channels is written to the
receiver 30 to 60 seconds after start of normal operation.
No Station is selected when the (◄ or►) button is moved quickly. This
is because button operations are not accepted until the channel is
confirmed. It may take 1.5 to 5 seconds to change channels.
