General Information
The purpose of this Operation Manual is to provide
information to ensure proper operation of this product.
It is the responsibility of those desiring to install this item on or
within a specific type or class of certified aircraft to document
and obtain approval for an acceptable installation from the
Administrator.
Unpacking and Inspection of AI-SSR and AI-SSR Antenna
Exercise extreme care when unpacking the AI-SSR and
AI-SSR Antenna. Make a visual inspection of the units for
evidence of damage incurred during shipment. If a claim for
damage is to be made, the units must be returned in the
original packaging.
To Receive Sirius Satellite Radio
The Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver holds a “SIRIUS ID” for
user identification. To obtain a subscriber contract and enable
reception of Sirius Satellite Radio, call the Sirius Service
Center (888-539-SIRI) or on the web www.sirius.com
need to provide the Sirius ID and a few other details.
For your “SIRIUS ID” refer to the “Verifying your Sirius ID” in
the “OPERATIONS” section.

Precautions
Temperature
Be sure the temperature inside the aircraft is between +60°C (140°F)
and –10°C (14°F) before turning your unit on
Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe dirt off of the AI-SSR. Never use a hard
clothe or a cloth soaked with thinner, alcohol etc.
Initial Operation
The first time or when starting after power interruption to the keep alive
line, the receiver does not respond until the reception is reestablished.
This may take as long as a minute to verify your “SIRIUS ID”
Text Data regarding names of received channels is written to the
receiver 30 to 60 seconds after start of normal operation.
No Station is selected when the (◄ or►) button is moved quickly. This
is because button operations are not accepted until the channel is
confirmed. It may take 1.5 to 5 seconds to change channels.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
Avionics Innovations, Inc. warrants the AI-SSR and AI-SSR
Antenna against material or manufacturing defects for a period of
one year from the date of installation. Avionics Innovations will,
upon receipt of the failed unit, repair or replace the unit at our
discretion. Avionics Innovations will pay UPS Ground shipping
charges for warranty returned items. Charges for express
shipment will be the responsibility of the sender. This warranty will
be void if the unit has been tampered with or opened by
unauthorized personnel. To validate warranty you must return:
1) Mail the enclosed warranty registration form to Avionics
Innovations with the following information:
1. Date of installation
2. Model and S/N of unit
3. Model and make of aircraft
4. Registration number
5. Owners name and address
6. Name of installing agency
7. Send to: Avionics Innovations, Inc

This warranty is not transferable. Any implied warranties expire
at the expiration date of this warranty. WE SHALL NOT BE
LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES. This warranty does not cover a defect that has
resulted from improper or unreasonable use or maintenance as
determined by us. This warranty is void if there is any attempt
to disassemble this product without factory authorization.
During the warranty period, the unit must be returned to
Avionics Innovations, Inc. If found to be under warranty, it will
be repaired or replaced at no charge. IMPORTANT: Any labor
charges associated with the removal of product or related
trouble shooting by any firm other than Avionics Innovations,
Inc. will not be covered.
