7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

Use your fingertip to flip open the lid on the left of the front panel.

Insert your HDD with the sticker-side up into the slot until the front edge of your
HDD aligns with the line at the slot opening.

Push back the plastic holder of the HDD until it clicks and then place the lid back
until it clicks in place.
*AVerLife XVision HD only reads one HDD at a time. Do not insert more than one HDD (either internal or external one) simultaneously.
*Do not use USB hub for HDD connection.
*AVerLife XVision HD only supports 2.5 inch HDD with a 9.5mm height.
* The HDD does not support hot plug and play function.

3.2 First Start Configuration Wizard
The first time you power on the AVerLife XVision HD unit, the Setup Wizard will show automatically as the default picture. The following steps will
guide you through to complete the initial configurations:

Press OK to enter the option menu. Use ▲/▼to select the region of your
location for TV signal, and press OK to confirm. Then use▼to select Next and
press OK to continue the setting.
Step 7:
Select Scan and press OK. The AVerLife XVision HD will then start to scan Analog
TV channels (ATV) in your area. To cancel the scanning process, select Cancel.
After the process finished, a list of available channels will be shown. Press OK to
continue the setting.
Step 8:
Select Scan to repeat the searching process for Digital TV channels (DTV). Once
finished, press OK. After the process finished, a list of available channels will be
shown. Press OK to continue the setting.
Step 9:
Select Finish and press OK to exit the wizard and start watching live TV.
* If you would like to activate the initial configuration again, please go to Setting >TV Settings > Initial Setting Wizard.
* The system will automatically detect the status of your network. If no network connection is detected, please make sure your network is
properly set up and connected. You can also configure network connection setups later via System Setting (See p.19 for more details).

- EPG provides you with continuously updated menus with information for

Scheduled Recording

Main Menu
Press to directly access the main screen. In Music/Photo/Video

Before playing, please choose one of the sources among your own storage device, Media Servers, and Network Shares. Then press OK to enter the sub-menu.
The screen will display the files in the selected category. Use the navigation keys
◄/►/▲/▼ to select the item you want to play. Then press OK to start playing.

Removing External Storage
In order to avoid data loss, it is highly recommended to safely remove your
external storage device.

Press on the remote control.

Select the storage device you want to remove.

Media Server
If you wish to access files shared by other computers or device on the same
network, select Media Server. Use ▲/▼ to select the desired server and press OK
to browse the media files.
Network Shares (via Samba)
If you wish to access files shared by other computers on the same network (via
Windows Network Neighborhood), select Network Shares. All the available media
sources will then be detected and shown automatically. Use ▲/▼ to select the
sources and press OK. Input user name and password, then press OK to confirm.
Navigate to the file you wish to play and press OK.

4.3 Media Playback
The media player enables you to play video/music/photo files in your own HDD or other external storage devices.

Torrent Files Downloading
BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing protocol used for distributing large
amounts of data.
Before using this function, please make sure the AVerLife XVision HD is properly
connected to a LAN with Internet access.
*An internal HDD is required for BitTorrent downloading.
Transferring Torrent Files to HDD
For AVerLife XVision HD to download the BT file, you need to put the torrent file in
the “bittorrent” folder on the internal HDD.
Please follow the instruction below:
Step 1:
Drag and drop the .torrent file you’ve downloaded into your USB flash drive. Then
plug it into the AVerLife XVision HD.
Step 2:
Press to call up the main page and select “File Management”. Use ▲/▼
to navigate to the folder in which the .torrent files are located. Press ►to confirm
the selection.
Step 3:
Press to display the toolbar and select Copy.
Step 3:
Use ▲/▼ to navigate to the “bittorrent” folder on the internal HDD. Press ►to
confirm the selection.
Basic Operation
- Press and then select Add New to add a torrent. Press OK to confirm.
- Press and then select Pause, Start, or Delete. Press OK to confirm.
- Press the navigation keys ▲/▼ to select and to start a new
downloading task.
- Press to pause the download. Press to resume download.
*To ensure a smooth download speed, the system will keep the ongoing tasks
as many as 3 at top. Please wait until your current download is complete
before attempting another download.
* All the downloaded files will be automatically saved to the folder on Local
HDD.
- Press to display the on-screen option menu. Select among Add, Start,
Pause, or Remove. Press OK to confirm.
- Press to pause the download. Press to resume download.
- Press to return to the previous page.
- Press to directly access the main page.

Internet Radio Listening
SHOUTcast is a free Internet radio service that offers thousands of free MP3 and
AAC radio stations from DJs and broadcasters around the world.
Once connected to the internet, you will be able to listen to your favourite
Internet Radio SHOUTcast stations. Before using this function, please make sure
the AVerLife XVision HD is properly connected to a LAN with Internet access.
Use ▲or▼to select a preferred category among Last Station, My favourites, Top
40s, Genres, About SHOUTcast. Then press OK to enter the sub-menu.

This page displays your last viewed station. Press to return to the previous

My favourites (for Internal HDD Only)
This page displays your favourite stations.
To remove station from the list, please follow the instruction below:

Use ▲/▼ to select station.
Step 2:
Press to call up the toolbar.
Step 3:
Select and then press OK to remove specific station from the list.
Top 40s
This page displays the top station list.
To add station to your liking to My Favourites, please follow the instruction below:
Step 1:
Use ▲/▼ to select station.
Step 2:
Press to call up the toolbar.
Step 3:
Select and then press OK to add your favourite stations to the list.
Genres
Browse the stations by genres. Use▲/▼to select preferred genre.

OSD Menu
Description
In the Settings submenu, you will find “TV Settings”, “Download Settings”, “Media
Share”, “Audio/Video Settings”, “Media Display Settings”, “System Settings”, and
“Network Settings”. From this menu, you can set up system environment,
multimedia, advanced functions and customize your preferences.
Use ▲or▼ to select a preferred category. Then press OK to enter the sub-menu.
TTVV SSeettttiinnggss
TV Signal Source
Select between different TV signal sources (Terrestrial TV and Cable TV), and then
press OK.
Region
Select to set the region where you are located for TV signal, and then press OK.
Channel Scan
Perform Channel Scan to search for available TV channels in your area. Press OK to
start scanning. The scanni ng proce ss will be finishe d within a few minutes. To
abort the action, select “Cancel” or press during the searching process.
Once finished, the system will return to the real-time program automatically.
Channel Edit
This function enables you to edit the TV channels. Use ▲ or ▼ to select the
channel name/sequence, and then modify it. Press OK to confirm.
Internal REC time Span
Use ▲ or ▼ to select the REC time span that you wish to set (Unlimited / 30 mins
/ 60 mins / 90 mins / 120 mins / 150 mins / 180 mins).
Recording Storage
Use ▲ or ▼ to select the storage destination that you wish to save the recordings.
Press to cancel.
Active Antenna
Use ▲ or ▼ to choose between On/Off, and OK to confirm.
*If you connect the active antenna to the RF input connector on the back of
AVerLife XVision HD, please select “On”. Never enable this function when passive
antenna is used; otherwise, the device may be damaged.
*Only active antenna with a maximum of 5V,100mA is supported.
Initial Setting Wizard
Call up the first start configuration wizard.

Use ▲ or ▼ and then OK to set the maximum BitTorrent download and
upload speed. Then press OK to confirm.
MMeeddiiaa SShhaarree
Media Server
Press OK to set the device as a Media Server over network. Once this function is
activated, you will be able to share the media files with other computers or device
on the same network. Select Stop and press OK if you want to disable this
function.
Network Share (Samba server)
Press OK to set the device as a Samba Server over network. Once this function is
activated, you will be able to share the media files with your network's computers.
Select Stop and press OK if you want to stop sharing.
*Please insert the HDD before using this function.
*When using Network Sharing, other functions are temporarily disabled.
Use▲ or ▼ to choose between different display aspect ratios
(Normal/Widescreen). Then press OK to confirm.
Video Composite
Use ▲ or ▼ to select from different TV system (NTSC, PAL). Then press OK to
confirm.
Video Component
Use ▲ or ▼ to select from different video resolutions (576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i,
1080p). Then press OK to confirm.
HDMI Video
Use ▲ or ▼ to choose among different resolutions of the HDMI video signal
(AUTO / 576i / 576p / 720p / 1080i / 1080p 24Hz / 1080p). Then press OK to
confirm.
HDMI/Composite Audio
Use ▲ or ▼ to choose between On/Off, and OK to enable/disable
HDMI/composite audio.
*If AVerLife XVision HD is connected to your amplifier via digital optical/coaxial
audio cable, please disable HDMI/Composite audio to disable HDMI and analog
audio output.
HDMI audio Pass Through
Use ▲ or ▼ to choose between On/Off, and OK to enable/disable HDMI audio
Pass Through.
S/PDIF audio Pass Through
Use ▲ or ▼ to choose between On/Off, and OK to enable/disable S/PDIF audio
Pass Through.

Date and Time
Use▲ o r ▼to set the date/time. Then press OK to confirm.
Character Set

press OK to confirm.
File Indexing
Use ▲ or ▼ to choose between On/Off, and OK to enable/disable file indexing.
Then press OK to confirm.
Firmware Upgrade
Use this fu nction to updat e the f irmware via USB stora ge or t he Inter net.
* F/W upgrade requir es at lea st 300M B free s pace of the sto rage d evice
(USB /HDD).
*NEVER power off the device or unplug the power supply during the FW upgrade
process. If the firmware upgrade is interrupted for any reason, the device may
crash and will no longer be able to be powered on.

Device Name
Input the des ired dev ice name via the on-screen keyboard. Press the navigation
buttons on the remote control to select, OK to input. After finished, select OK to
confirm. The default device name is AVTVbox.
Set SMB Server Password
Step 1:
Press OK to call up the on-screen keyboard.
Step 2:
Press the navigation buttons on the remote control to select, OK to input the
password.
Step 3:
Re-input the password. Then press OK to confirm.
Set Media Shares
Then press OK to confirm.
Widget Settings
City
Use▲ o r ▼to select your city for weather information widget. Then press OK to
confirm.
Temperature Unit
Use▲ o r ▼to select desired scale of measurement for temperature. Then press
OK to confirm.
LED Brightness
Use▲ o r ▼to select desired brightness level. Then press OK to confirm.

Sele ct to re store to factory default .
Format Disk
Use this fu nction to format the internal HD D. Press OK, and then h ard disk
forma t proces s will start. Once f inished, please reboot the dev ice.
* Di sk forma t will remove all the data stored o n the HDD. Plea se prop erly
backu p your data bef ore formatting the HD D.
* If your H DD has b een pa rtitioned before. Disk fo rmat wi ll remov e the
part itions. You h ave to create the har d disk parti tion ag ain.
