I: In caso di guasti, Cannon AVENT plc garantisce la sostituzione gratuita dello sterilizzatore a vapore IQ

Express di AVENT per i primi dodici mesi a par tire dalla data di acquisto. Vi preghiamo di restituire il
prodotto difettoso al negozio dove è stato acquistato. Vi preghiamo inoltre di conservare la vostra ricevuta
come prova di acquisto, o il foglio della garanzia con le informazioni relative alla data di acquisto e il timbro
del rivenditore.

Perché la garanzia sia valida, è necessario che:

• Lo sterilizzatore elettronico a vapore IQ Express di AVENT sia usato secondo le istruzioni riportate in
questo libretto e che sia connesso ad una presa elettrica idonea.

• Il danno non sia stato causato da incidenti, trascuratezza, utilizzo errato, poca pulizia, ed usura.

• A reclamação não inclui os danos resultantes de acidentes, utilização indevida, sujidade, negligência
ou desgaste normal.

MOŻNA:

1) Wymieszać jedną saszetkę kwasku cytr ynowego (10g)

Please read this leaflet before you use your AVENT Express IQ
Steam Steriliser for the first time and keep it safe for future use.
Instructions are also available on our website: ww w.avent.com

The AVENT Express IQ is the first of a new generation of
intelligent products. Using the intensive heat of steam to kill all
household germs, it incorporates an easy to use electronic display
to help you sterilise your baby feeding equipment as safely and
quickly as possible.

As well as bottles and breast feeding accessories, you can sterilise
any other boilable items (please refer to the manufacturer’s
instructions regarding sterilisation).

Hazard Warning

• When in use, the steriliser contains boiling water and
steam escapes from the vent in the lid.

• Take care when opening as steam can burn.

• Ensure the steriliser is placed on a firm level surface
when in use.

• Never open the unit when in use.

• Always keep out of reach of children.

• Always unplug from the mains when not in use.

• Never place items on top of the steriliser.

• To stop the steriliser during the cycle, press the on/off
button or unplug at the mains.

• Never immerse the steriliser in water.

• The lead supplied must not be used on any other appliance
and no other lead should be used with the AVENT Express
IQ Steam Steriliser.

Before using your steriliser for the first time

(see diagram B and refer to the Electronic Display Guide)

Remove all items from inside the steriliser body.

1) Using the measuring cup provided, pour in exactly 90ml of tap
water. Check the water does not exceed the ‘max’line in the
steriliser body.

2) Assemble all the blue components (baskets, stem and bottle
rack). Place the assembled components in the steriliser and
put the lid on.

3) Connect the lead into the back of the steriliser body and plug
into the mains supply.

4) Press the on/off button. The steriliser will beep and the light
will begin to rotate.

5) After the water has reached 100˚C, it will turn to steam and
the numerical countdown will begin, alternating between
minutes remaining and the rotating light.

6) At the end of the cycle the unit will beep 5 times. Three bars
will flash on the display, then remain displayed.

7) This cycle will take a little longer because the steriliser is
empty. Allow the unit to cool, turn off at the mains, unplug
and disconnect the lead from the back of the steriliser.

8) Remove baskets and bottle rack, pour away any remaining
water and wipe dry.

Before each use

1) Before sterilising, wash all items in mild soapy water
and rinse.

2) Using the measuring cup provided, pour in exactly 90ml of
tap water. Check the water does not exceed the ‘max’ line
in the steriliser body.

To sterilise up to six 125ml, 260ml or 330ml AVENT
bottles

(see diagram C)

1) Using the measuring cup provided, pour in exactly 90ml of
tap water. Check the water does not exceed the ‘max’ line in
the steriliser body.

2) Slide the lower basket onto the central stem. Thread 2 screw
rings onto the central stem. Slide the bottle rack down the
central stem, with the neck facing down, until it rests on the
top screw ring.

3) Place the teats through the centre of the holes in the bottle
rack onto the lower basket.

4) Thread 4 screw rings onto the central stem.

5) Place the 6 inverted bottles in the bottle rack.

6) Push the upper basket onto the central stem until it rests
on the catch. Place the 6 dome caps and tongs into the
upper basket.

7) The upper basket is not required when sterilising 330ml
bottles.

8) Place the assembled components into the steriliser and put
the lid on.

9) Connect the lead into the back of the steriliser body and plug
into the mains supply. Press the on/off button. The steriliser
will beep and the light will begin to rotate.

10) After the water has reached 100˚C, it will turn to steam and
the numerical countdown will begin, alternating between
minutes remaining and the rotating light.

11) At the end of the cycle the unit will beep 5 times. Three bars
will flash on the display, then remain displayed.

To remove sterilised items

(see diagram D)

1) Let the steriliser cool down for 3 minutes before removing
the lid.

2) Press the on/off button to reset the unit for next use.

3) Wash your hands thoroughly before removing the sterilised
items.

4) Remove the lid.

5) If necessary, shake excess water from items before assembling.

6) The tongs can be used to remove small items and to pull the
sterile teats through the screw rings of the bottles.

7) If feeds are made up after the bottles have been sterilised, they
can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

8) The steriliser must be left to cool for at least 10 minutes
between each use.

9) After each use, unplug the lead, pour away any remaining
water, rinse and wipe dry.

10) Items will remain sterile for 3 hours provided the lid is not
removed or opened. The three hours countdown will begin
provided the on/off button has not been reset. After an hour
the display will show 2 bars and after a further hour 1 bar.

11) After 3 hours the steriliser will beep and the display will flash
‘0’ until the on/off button is pressed.

To sterilise the AVENT ISIS Breast Pump (

see diagram E)

1) Click the ISIS breast pump body into the slot in the upper
basket and arrange the other breast pump components as
shown. Assemble remaining components of the ISIS Breast
Pump in the lower basket.

2) Up to six 125ml or 260ml bottles (not including screw rings,
teats or dome caps) can be sterilised with the pump.

3) Add exactly 90ml of water.

4) Refer to points 8 to 11 of “To sterilise up to six AVENT bottles”.

To sterilise narrow neck bottles and other items

Teats should be placed around the central stem in the lower
basket and screw rings in the top basket, as they are too narrow
for the stem. Always ensure items are positioned within
baskets/racks to ensure effective circulation of steam. The bottle
rack and/or upper basket can be removed to make more room.

Dishwasher Basket

(see diagram F)

1) Two baskets can be clipped together to hold small items such
as teats, breast pump parts, soothers, etc for washing in the
top rack of your dishwasher prior to sterilisation.

2) To clip together, align the two baskets so that the indicators
are opposite each other and snap the baskets together. To
open basket, pull apart with fingers using side recesses.

Warning: Your AVENT items may discolour over time if they
are washed in the dishwasher with dirty items covered with
remnants of strong sauces, such as tomato sauce.

Care of your steriliser

Using pre-boiled or filtered water in your Express IQSteam
Steriliser can reduce limescale build up. You should de-scale
your steriliser every four weeks to ensure it continues to work
100% effectively.

EITHER:

1) Mix one sachet of citric acid (10gms) with 200ml of water.
Pour into the empty steriliser. Do not put the lid on. Switch
on for 1-2 minutes. Switch off at mains and leave to stand
for 30 minutes. Drain and rinse out the steriliser. Run a full
cycle empty with the lid on, using exactly 90ml of water.
Wipe out the steriliser. Citric acid is available from most
chemists – avoid contact with eyes as this may cause

irritation. Keep out of reach of children.

OR:

2) Pour 100ml vinegar mixed with 200ml cold water into
steriliser. Allow to stand in the unit until any limescale
has dissolved. Empty the unit and rinse thoroughly.

Warnings

1) Do not use bleach or chemical sterilising solutions/
tablets in your steam steriliser or on products to
be sterilised.

2) Do not use abrasive, anti-bacterial materials or scourers
to clean the steriliser.

3) Do not use softened water in the steriliser.

4) The steriliser lead is fitted with a moulded plug. In the event
that this plug is unsuitable for the power sockets in your
home, a suitable adapter must be fitted. The adapter must
be earthed.

Check that the mains lead is connected to the steriliser as well as plugged

Steriliser needs de-scaling (see ‘Care of your steriliser’ ).

Too much water is being used. Use exactly 90ml of water. OR: The steriliser
is loaded with only a few items - light loads will take longer to cycle.

Not enough water has been placed in the steriliser. Switch off, remove water,
replace with exactly 90ml of water and restart .
