INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Before Using Your Refrigerator
• Remove the exterior and interior packing.
• Check to be sure you have all of the following parts:
o 3 Glass Shelves
o Instruction Manual
•Before connecting t he unit to the power source, let i t stand upright for approxim ately 2 hours.
This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from handling during
transportation.
•Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.
Installation of Your Refrigerator
•Place your refrigerator on a floor that is strong en ough to support the refrigerator when it is fully

consumption. Extrem e c old am bient tem peratures m ay also caus e t he refrigerator not to perform
properly.
•Avoid locating the refrigerator in moist areas. Too much moisture in the air will cause frost to
form quickly on the evaporator requiring more frequent defrosting of the refrigerator.

Electrical Connection
WARNING
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the
power cord of the range or refrigerator is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized Avanti
Products service center.
This refrigerator should be properly grounded for your safety. The power cord of this
refrigerator is equipped with a three-prong plug which mates with standard three
prong wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electrical shock.
Do not under an y c ircums tances cut or rem ove the th ird ground pro ng from the power cord s upplied.
For personal safety, this refrigerator must be properly grounded.
This refrigerator requires a standard 115/120 Volt AC ~/60Hz electrical ground outlet with three-prong.
Have the wall outlet a nd circuit check ed by a qualifie d electrician to m ake sure the outlet is properly
grounded. When a standar d 2-prong wall outlet is encountered, it is your responsibili ty and obligatio n
to have it replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet.
The cord should be secured behind the refrigerator and not left exposed or dangling to prevent
accidental injury.
The refrigerator should always be pl ugged into its o wn individua l electrical ou tlet which has a voltage
rating that matches the rating label on the refrigerator. This prov ides the best perform ance and also
prevent overloading house wiring circuits that could cause a fire hazard from overheated. Never
unplug the refrigerator by pulling the power cor d. Al wa ys grip t he p lug f irmly and pull straight out f r om
the receptacle. Repair or replace immediatel y all power cords that h ave become fra yed or otherwise
damaged. Do not use a cor d that shows crack s or abrasion dam age along its len gth or at either en d.
When moving the refrigerator, be careful not to damage the power cord.
Extension Cord
Because of potential saf ety hazards un der certain con ditions, it is str ongly recomm ended that you do
not use an extension cord with this refrigerator. However, if you must use an extension cord it is
absolutely necessary that it be a UL/CUL-Listed, 3-wire grounding type refrigerator extension cord
having a grounding t ype plug and outlet and that the electrical rating of the cor d be 115 volts and at
least 10 amperes.
Surge Protector
Most electrical refrigerators use a ser ies of elec tric co ntrol boards to operat e. T hese boards are ver y
susceptible to power surges and could be damaged or destroyed.
If the refrigerator is going to be used in an area or if your city / countr y is prone to power surges /
outages; it is sug gested that you use a power surge protector for all e lectrical devices / refrigerators
you use. The surge prote ctor that you select must have a surge block high enough to protect the
refrigerator it is connected to. If you have any questions regarding the type and size of surge
protector needed contact a licensed electrician in your area.
Damages due to po wer surges are not considered a m anufacturer covered defect and wil l void your
product warranty.

Reversing The Door Swing Of Your Refrigerator
This refrigerator-fr eezer has the capabilit y of the doors opening from either the left or right side. T he
unit is delivered to you with the doors opening f rom the left side. Should you d esire to reverse the
opening direction, please call service for reversal instructions.
OPERATING YOUR REFRIGERATOR
Setting the Temperature Control
Your unit has only on e control for regulating the temperature in the
compartment. The tem perature control is l ocated on the upper r ight
hand side of the compartment.
The first time you tur n the unit on, s et the t em perature c ontro l to “ 6”.
The range of the temper ature control is from position "0FF” to “6”.
After 24 to 48 hours, adjust the temperature control to the setting
that best suits your needs. The setting of “3 - 4” should be
appropriate for home or office use.
To turn the refrigerator off, turn the temperature control to ”0”.
NOTE:
− Turning the temperature control to “0FF” position stops the cooling cycle but does not shut off the
power to the unit.
− If the unit is unplugged, has lost power, or is turned off, you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before
restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the unit will not start.
9
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning The Refrigerator
• Turn the temperature control to "0FF", unplug the unit, and remove the food and baskets.
• Wash the inside with a warm water and baking soda solution. The solution should be about 2
tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water.
• Wash the baskets with a mild detergent solution.
• The outside of the unit should be cleaned with mild detergent and warm water.
CAUTION: Failure to unplug the refrigerator could result in electrical shock or personal injury.
Power Failure
Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and sh ould not affect the tem perature of your
refrigerator-free zer if you m inimize the number of times the door is opened. If the power is going t o b e
off for a longer period of time, you need to take the proper steps to protect your food.
Vacation Time
Short vacations: Leave the unit operating during vacations of less than three weeks.
Long vacations: If the refrigerator will not be used for sev eral months, rem ove all food and unplu g
the power cord. Clea n and dry the interi or thoroughly. T o prevent odor and m old growth, leave the
door open slightly: blocking it open if necessary
Moving Your Refrigerator
• Remove all the food.
• Securely tape down all loose items inside your unit.
• Turn the leveling screws up to the base to avoid damage.
• Tape the doors shut.
• Be sure the unit stays in the upright position during transportation.
Energy Saving Tips
•The unit should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat producing refrigerators
or heating ducts, and out of direct sunlight.
•Let hot foods cool to room temperature before placing them in the unit. Overloading the unit
forces the compressor to run longer. Foods that freeze too slowly may lose quality, or spoil.
•Be sure to wrap foods properly, and wipe containers dry before placing them in the unit. This cuts
down on frost build-up inside the freezer.
•Organize and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as many
items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.
