Your safety and the safety of others are very important.
We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. A l wa ys read and obey all safety messages.
All safety messages will alert you what the potential hazard is, tell you how to reduce the chance of injury, and let you know what can happen if the instructions are not followed.
WARNING TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY TO PERSONS OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
a) Use this unit only in the manner intended and expressed by the manufacturer, if you have any
questions, contact the manufacturer.
b) Before servicing or cleaning the unit, switch the power off at service panel and lock panel to
prevent power from being switched on accidentally. When the service disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device, like a tag to the service panel.
CAUTION
For general ventilating use only. Do not exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors. Take care when using cleaning agents or detergents. Suitable for use in household/residential cooking areas only.
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
a) Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with
all applicable codes and standards including fire-rated construction.
b) Sufficient air is needed for power combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue
(chimney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent back-drafting. Follow the heating equ ipment manufacturer’s guideline and safety standards such as those published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the local code authorities.
c) When cutting or drilling into a wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden
utilities. d) Ducted fans must always vent to the outdoors. e) Make sure the power is OFF before installing, wiring or maintenance.

WARNING: If the information in this manual is not followed exactly, a fire or explosion may result causing property damage, personal injury or death.
Before the appliance is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as
described in this manual, so read the manual carefully. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury when using the appliance, follow basic precaution, including the following:
It is recommended that a separate circuit, serving only your appliance be provided. Use receptacles that cannot be turned off by a switch or pull chain.
Never clean appliance parts with flammable fluids. These fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion. And do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in t he vicinity of this or any other appliance. The fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion.
Before proceeding with cleaning and maintenance operations, make sure the power line of the unit is disconnected.
Unplug the appliance or disconnect power before cleaning or servicing. Failure to do so can result in electrical shock or death.
Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of your appliance unless it is specifically recommended in this manual. All other servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.
All openings in the wall behind the appliance and in the floor under the appliance shall be sealed.
Keep appliance area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable
vapors.
Do not obstruct the flow of ventilation air.
Disconnect the electrical supply to the appliance before servicing.
When removing appliance for cleaning and/or service:
Disconnect AC power supply.
Electrical Grounding Instructions - The appliance must be installed and grounded by a qualified
technician in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No. 70 (Latest Edition) and local electrical code requirements.
Replacement Parts – Only authorized replacement parts may be used in performing service on
the range hood. Replacement parts are available from factory authorized parts distributors. Contact the nearest Avanti service ce nter in your area.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
WARNING
All electrical work must be performed by a qualified electrician or person with similar technical knowhow and background.
For personal safety, remove house electrical fuse or open circuit breaker before beginning installation. DO NOT USE EXTE NSION CORD OR ADAPTER PLUG WITH THIS APPLIANCE.
Follow all national electrical codes or prevailing local codes and ordinances.
Electrical supply: This appliance requires a 120V / 60 Hz electrical supply, connected to an
individual properly grounded branch circuit, protected by a 15 or 20 ampere circuit breaker or time delay fuse. Wiring must be a 2 wire with ground. Please refer to the electrical diagram labeled on the product.
IMPORTANT: You MUST observe all governing codes and ordinances. It is the customer’s responsibility

CABLE LOCK:
A cable locking connector (not supplied) might also be required by local codes. Check with local requirements and codes, purchase and install appropriate connector if necessary.
