Overview
This instruction sheet details installation of the above face onto a 21E electric fireplace.
21E FIREPLACE MUST BE SECURED TO FRAMING
The 21E electric fireplace must be secured to the framing or platform to prevent the fireplace from tipping
forward when the doors are opened. Failure to properly secure the fireplace may lead to a serious safety
hazard.
Cove Cover Installation
The cove covers install over the top corners of the glass and prevent light from exiting the slots on the face.
Remove the two screws above the glass on the right side as shown below. Place the cove cover in place and
secure using the same screws. Repeat this process for the left side.

Face Preparation
The backing plate must be modified to remove the lower access door and secu re a mounting bracket to the
mesh screen above the door. Follow the directions below to modify the face for the 21E.
Remove and discard the lower access door.
Place the backing plate on a suitable work surface with the front upwards (door hinges up). Center the bracket
template over the mesh screen as shown below (6-11/16” from either edge –the large hole to the left).
While holding the template in place, use a phillips screwdriver to
the template (see p
hotos below). The holes only need to separate the wire mesh to create a ¼” diameter hole.

Dis-assemble the mounting bracket assembly. Insert the studs on the front plate through the holes exposed
in the screen (see photos below). Note how the large hole is positioned to the left.
Position the bracket behind the backing plate so the studs on the front plate insert through the holes on the
bracket (see photos below). Secure the bracket with the two included nuts.

Face Installation
Position the backing plate so the bottom brackets insert into the slots on the lower support legs (see
illustration below). With the brackets inserted, rotate the backing plate forward and secure by tightening the
attachment screw on the mounting bracket (you will need to remove the button plug to access the screw).
Use a flashlight, if necessary, to align the screw with the press nut on the fireplace.
Replace the button plug to conceal the hole used to secure the face (see photo below).
