1. Connect an antenna to the DA100D.
2. Plug the DA100D into a mains power socket using the supplied power adaptor.
3. Switch the DA100D on using the remote control.
4. Use the arrow buttons to select language.

6. Use the arrow buttons to select country.
7. Press <Enter> to begin auto search.
Note: If you want to exit auto search, press <EXIT>, then Use < > or < > to select YES or NO.
Please note that the signal strength in some areas may not be sufficient to support TV reception using a portable aerial. The distance from the closest transmitter and other factors such as surrounding buildings, the walls of your house, weather and electro-magnetic interference caused by power and telecommunication infrastructure may affect signal strength. Changing location may improve signal reception but a rooftop aerial designed for digital TV should be used to achieve the best possible reception.

4.4.2 Use of the Remote Control
Please remove the PVC packaging before using the remote control for the first time.
1. Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or very strong / bright light.
2. Do not drop or step on the remote control or subject it to shocks.
3. Keep the remote control away from extreme heat and humid environments.
4. Keep the remote control away from water.
Operating range
1. The IR range of the remote control is 5 meters.
2. The IR sensor on the remote control should be aimed directly at the sensor on the front of the device. It may not be possible to operate the device if there are obstacles between it and the remote

Replacing the battery
If the remote control does not function or if the operating range becomes reduced, replace the old battery with a new one.
5. Connection and Setup
5.1 Connecting the power adaptor
1. Connect the power adaptor to the DC IN 12V socket.
2. Plug the power adaptor into the mains power socket.

5.2 Connecting headphones
Connect your headphones to the headphone socket.
Pull out the battery holder and remove the old battery.

Headphone and Earphone Safety
1. Listening through headphones or earphones at high volume for prolonged periods can cause damage to your hearing.
2. Please be considerate to others and use closed back headphones or listen at low volume whilst in public.
3. If you are experiencing tinnitus, stop using headphones or listen only at a very low volume.
4. Even at a low volume, prolonged use of headphones or earphones can cause damage to your hearing.

6.1 Switching the device off or on

Connect the device to the mains and wait 5 seconds. Then either press and hold the power button on the device for
1.5 seconds, or press the power button on the remote control to switch the device on.
6.1.2 Switch Power Off
Either press and hold the power button on the device for 1.5 seconds, or press the power button on the remote control to switch the device off.
6.2 Mode settings
Press <MODE> repeatedly to select between the following modes: DTV: Freeview TV, press <ENTER> to change ATV: Analogue TV, press <ENTER> to change HDMI: HDMI input, press <ENTER> to change AV: AV input, press <ENTER> to change Media Player: Media Player Mode, press <ENTER> to Switch to it.

7.2 DTV Manual Search
1. Press <MENU> to enter the main menu.
2. Use < > and < > to select ‘Channel’.
3. Use < > and < > to highlight the ‘DTV Manual Search’.
4. Press <ENTER> to enter manual search settings.
5. Use < > and < > to select channel and frequency.
Note: The signal bar shows the signal quality. After a manual search, the DA100D plays new channels automatically.
7.3 DTV Channel Manager
Channel Manager allows the user to delete, move, favorite and skip channels.
1. Press <MENU> to enter the main menu.
2. Use < > and < > to select ‘Channel’.
3. Use < > and < > to highlight ‘Channel Manager’.
4. Press <ENTER> to enter channel edit and use < > and < > to highlight to channel
5. Press ‘RED’ to delete a channel.
6. Press ‘YELLOW’ and use < > and < > to move a channel, press <ENTER> to confirm.
7. Press ‘BLUE’ to skip a channel.
7.4 LCN (Logical Channel Number)
To switch LCN on or off:
1. Press <MENU> to enter the main menu.
2. Use < > and < > to select ‘Channel’.
3. Use < > and < > to highlight the ‘LCN’.
4. Press <ENTER> to switch the LCN on or off.
7.5 Channel Information
Press <INFO> to view channel information:
Press <INFO> again to show signal Strength and Quality:
7.7 Subtitles
Press <SUB-T> to set Subtitle for subtitle settings.
1.Use< > or < > to select a language or switch off subtitles.
2.Press <ENTER> to confirm.

Press <TTX> to access teletext or red button content, if available.
7.9 AUDIO Language
1. Press <MENU> to enter the main menu.
2. Use < > and < > to select ‘System’.
3. Use < > and < > to select ‘Audio Language’, press <ENTER> to enter.
4. Use < > and < > to select the Primary or Secondary audio language.
5. Use the arrow buttons to select a language then press <MENU> to return.
7.11 TV and Radio Modes
Press < or TV/R> to switch between TV and Radio modes.
7.12 Record and Time Shift
Connect a USB storage device with sufficient free space for the intended recording.
Live Recording
1. Press < or REC> to start recording.
2. Press < > to stop recording. Time Shift
1. Press < or REC> to start recording.
2. Press < or REC> to show the onscreen options.
3. Select < > and press <ENTER> to enable Timeshift.
4. Select < or > and press <ENTER> to pause or resume.
5. Select < > and press <ENTER> to rewind.
6. Select < > and press <ENTER> to fast forward.
7. Select < > and press <ENTER> to stop Timeshift.
8. Press < > to stop recording.
7.13 Schedule Recording
1. Press <EPG> to access the EPG.
2. Use <> and <> to select the channel you wish to record.
3. Use <> and <> to select the desired program.
4. Press <RED> to enter the recording settings.
5. Press ‘OK’ to schedule the recording using the default time settings.
Note: To enter the date and time manually, change the mode from ‘Auto’ to ‘Once’, ‘Everyday’ or ‘Weekly’ then input the start time and the finish time.
7.14 Reminder
1. Press <EPG> to access the EPG.
2. Use <> and <> to select the desired channel.
3. Use <> and <> to select the program you wish to be reminded about.
4. Press <Blue> to enter the reminder settings.
5. Press OK to schedule the reminder using the default time settings.
Note: To set the reminder manually, use <> and <> to select the setting and use <> and <> to change the time.

3. Use < > and < > to highlight the ‘Country’.
4. Use < > and <> to change the country.
5. Use <> and <> to highlight ‘Auto Search’.

7.10 EPG (Electronic Program Guide)
Press <EPG> to access the EPG.
Note: Micro SD card cannot be used for recording.
The antenna socket provides an output of 5V, allowing you to power an amplified antenna. Do not plug the amplified antenna into a mains power socket as this will overpower the amplifier and generate interference.
While the TV is switched on, the USB port provides an output of 5V, allowing you to charge another device.

2. Press <MODE> and use <> and <> to select ‘Media Player’, press <ENTER> to confirm.
3. Use <> and <> to select a media format.
4. Select USB or Micro SD and press <ENTER>.
5. Use the arrow buttons to select a file and press <ENTER> to confirm.
10. Display Settings
You can adjust picture settings in any mode.
1.Press <MENU> to enter the main menu.
2.Use < > and < > to select ‘Display’.
3.Use < > and < > to select options.
4.Use < >and < > to change the settings.
5.Press <MENU> to return.
11. Audio Settings
You can adjust audio settings in any mode.

You can change time settings in any mode.

automatically.

13. System Settings
You can set system settings in any mode.
1.Press <MENU> to enter main menu.
2.Use < > and < > to select ‘System’.
3.Use < > and < > to select options.
4.Press <ENTER> or use < > and < > to change.
Note: Audio and subtitle language settings are only available in DTV mode.
13.1 Factory Reset
To reset to factory settings select factory reset from the system menu then press < > to confirm or < > to cancel.

13.2 Software Update
To update the system software, download the software package from our website and follow the steps below:
1. Extract / unzip the downloaded file.
2. Copy the software file to a USB storage device.
3. Insert the USB device into the DA100D’s USB port.
4. Press <MENU> to enter the main menu.
5. USE <> and <> to select ‘System’.
6. USE <> and <> to select ‘Software Update’ and press <ENTER>.
7. Press <> to confirm and start the update or press <> to cancel.
Once updated, the DA100D will reboot automatically and the installation guide will appear.

14. Battery Compartment
This device can be powered by 6 x AA 1.2V rechargeable batteries. Fully charged 2800mAh batteries supports playback for up to 1.5 hours. The device will automatically charge batteries when connected to an external power source.
Caution:
Use AA 1.2V rechargeable batteries only. Other batteries may damage the device and will invalidate the warranty. Fully charge the batteries before first use. Remove the batteries from the compartment if the device will not be used for an extended period of time. Dispose of any used batteries in compliance with WEEE and other government regulations.
1) Make sure the device is switched off and the power lead is disconnected.
2) Press and slide the battery cover in the direction shown.

16. Troubleshooting
Problems listed below do not necessarily signify a fault with the unit. Please check this list before requesting repairs.

Check the connection with the AC adaptor or car adaptor. Use of an unauthorized power supply. Press POWER on the remote to turn on the device, or press and hold POWER on the device for 1.5 seconds to turn it on.
Check the channel selection. Scan for channels again. Always rescan for channels in new locations.
Check the sound volume. If you are using earphones, test them on another item. Check the earphone cable is plugged into the earphone socket on the device. Incorrect TV Format setting in Analogue TV mode. Set the device to factory default and then try again.
Check the file system of the USB storage device, NTFS is the recommended format. Insert the USB storage device after the DA100D is on.
Signal may be too weak, please check the aerial. Try to use a proper roof top aerial or an amplified aerial.

Motors/Trains/High Voltage Lines and Neon Lights may affect the signal.

Possible Causes and Solutions
17. Warranty
This product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of the original purchase. In the unlikely event of any defect arising due to faulty materials or workmanship, the unit will be either replaced or repaired free of charge (where possible) during this period. An alternative product will be offered in case the product is no longer available or repairable.
This warranty is subject to the following conditions: The warranty is only valid within the country where the product is purchased. The product must be correctly installed and operated in accordance to the instructions given in this user manual. The product must be used solely for domestic purposes. The warranty only covers the main units, and does not cover the accessories. The warranty does not cover the damage caused by misuse, negligence, accident and natural disaster. The warranty will be rendered invalid if the product is resold or has been damaged by inexpert repairs. The manufactures disclaim any liability for incidental or consequential damages. Please consult our customer adviser before returning any product; we are not responsible for any unexpected product returns. Any faulty product must be kept and returned in the original packaging with all the accessories and the original copy of the purchase receipt.
The warranty is in addition to, and does not diminish, your statutory or legal rights.
Please note:
1. A LCD display panel comprises a very large number of pixels and each pixel contains three sub-pixels - red, green and blue. Due to the complex manufacturing process, occasional pixel anomalies may occur. Pixel anomalies cannot be fixed or repaired and can happen at any stage in the LCD's life. August products should not be deemed as faulty if there are no more than three bright and dark pixels respectively.

Portable TV antennas included in the box are for people to watch Freeview TV in areas where the signal is very strong and there may be difficulties in receiving signal with the included portable antennas in some regions at present. This is due to the fact that Freeview is yet to operate in full power in the UK. August TVs should not be deemed as faulty if it can receive Freeview by connecting to a proper digital rooftop aerial.
