9. BATTERY CHARGING

9.1. CHARGING BY DESK-TOP CHARGER

The desk-top charger will completely recharge the slimline battery in 7 hours and the extended life battery in 14 hours, provided the phone is turned off. To operate, insert the plug of the AC/DC adaptor into the connector in the back of the desk-top charger Plug the AC/DC adaptor into a power out let. Ihen simply insert the battery into the desk-top charger. 'Hie LED light should illuminate indicating the charging func tion has begun.
The front slot of the desk-top charger accepts both the extended life and slimline batteries attached to the phone, the charger's rear slot accepts either size battery alone.

9.2. RAPID CHARGING BY VEHICLE CHARGER

The vehicle charger is designed to charge the battery rapidly in vehicle or out of the vehicle. The chaîner can recharge the battery only when it attached to telephone. To operate in vehi cle, insert the plug of the cigarette lighter jack into the con nector in the back of the vehicle charger. Plug the cigarette lighter into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket. Then simply insert the PR130 with battery into the vehicle charger. The red LED should Ught up indicating the chargii^ function has begun. When the green light is on, it indicates the battery has been charged. Char^g should be conducted at temperature of 0 to +45 degree. The charging time for a fully drained slim battery is approùmately 150 minutes while the charging time for long life battery is 300 minutes.
To operate in any other location, insert the output plug of the AC/DC adaptor into the connector in the vehicle charger. Plug the AC/DC adaptor into a power outlet. Then simply insert the PR130 with battery into the vehicle charger
If you try to chaise the battery in very low or very high tem perature, the yellow LED will be lit up and the procedure will
be suspended. When the battery temperature is in the range (0-45) degree, the rechraging will be started and the LED will light up.
<*■ Note
Do not use AC/DC adaptor other than the one supplied because it may cause electrical damage to your charging system or the PR130. Only use the AC/DC adaptor provided with the PR130.
If You charge battery more than 16 hours continuously, the life time of battery may be reduced. So please do not change battery longer than 16 hours. In case of slim line battery and extended battery, you cannot charge batteries continuously. It is not advisable to charge battery longer than 24 hours.
The travel charger will completely recharge the slim line battery in 7 hours and the extended battery in 14 hours. To operate, insert the battery pack into the travel charger and insert the plug of travel charger into power outlet {AC
120v/60Hz). Then, the red light should illuminate indicating toatthe charging function has begun.
If surrounding temperature is below +0° or higher then +45®, battery may not be charged. So you should try to charge battery in the normal temperature.
If you charge and discharge the battery continuously, with out reachirg a full charge or discharge state, then the bat tery capacity wll be reduced.

10. ACCESSORIES

10.1 HANDS FREE KIT (VEHICLE ADAPTOR)

The PR 130 can be used with a handsfree kit so that you can operate the phone in your vehicle by using your vehicle's power supply. The handsfree kit provides you with unlimited talk time while power is being supplied by your vehicle and improves receiving and transmitting due to better RF signal
strength created by using an external antenna.
The handsfree kit includes the following;
HANDSFREE ADAPTOR HANDSFREE MICROPHONE POWER AND ANTENNA CABLES HANDSFREE ADAPTOR MOUNTING BRACKET
"Hands Free" means that you can have a conversation with out holding the phone. But it is safer not to place a call while operating a vehicle.
When the handsfree kit is properly installed, you can operate the handsfree kit as follows;
A) Insert the connector of curly cord of hands-free adaptor to
the buttom of the telephone.
B) Place the telephone in hands-free adaptor.
C) When the car ignition is turned on, the phone is automati cally turned on if the handsfree adaptor is connected proper ly. (If you turn off the telephone by pressing the [PWR] key, the telephone does not turn on even though ignition is on. In this case, you have to press the [PWR] key to turn on the telephone)
D) The hands-free adaptor has rapid charging capabilities. Connecting the phone to handsfree adaptor, the red LED should light up indicating the charging function has begun. When a green light of charging state indicator is on, the bat tery has been charged. Charging should be conducted at tem perature of 0 to +45 degree. The charging time for a fully drained slimline battery is approximately 3 hours while the charging time for extended life battery is 7 hours. (The fea ture of battery charger is equal to that of vehicle charger.)
E) While the phone is placed in the handsfree adaptor all received audio and key tones will be heard through the hands free adaptor's speaker. The external microphone will be used to transmit the voice. At this time, the backlighting of the phone will remain on to indicate the phone is in handsfree mode.
32
F)When the telephone is picked up from the handsfree adap tor . the voice of your party can only be beard from the inter nal speaker in the earxnece of the telephone and not from the speaker of die handsfree adaptor.(In this case, battery chain
ing is not available.)
Hora Alert
If the horn alert mode of the PR130 special functions is select
ed, then the vehicls hom will sound whenever an incoming
call is received. Also, when this function is set the phone will not be turned off even if ignition is turned off so that the vehi cle hom will sound to inform you of an incoming call during your absence from your vehicle.
