
COMPACT DISC PLAYBACK
1. Press the  STANDBY button to turn to function mode.
2. Press OPEN button to insert a CD into the slot with printed side 
facing upward and close the door.
3. Press the FUNCTION button to select CD mode. After loading the 
CD, total tracks of the disc will be shown.
4. Press the  button to begin play.
Note:
LCD display will return to Clock 
mode after about 15 sec with no 
further operation.
To Interrupt Playback
• Press the  button.
• To resume playback, press the  button again.
To Stop Playback
• Press the  button.
To Remove the Disc
• Press the OPEN button and take the CD out.
To Review CD Track No.
• Press  to review CD track no.
Note: This operation will cause instant stop of track playing.
Track Search - Locating a Particular Point In a Track
•  Keep the  or  button pressed during play and release at the
desired point.
Tracks Skip - Skipping To The Previous or Next Track
• Press the  button once to return to the beginning of the current 
track.

Repeat Play
This function will allow a single track or all tracks on the disc to be 
played repeatedly. REPEAT function can be operated when playing 
a disc.
1. To repeat the same track, press

2. To repeat the disc, press the
PRESET/REPEAT button until 
“REPEAT ALL” icon lights up 
on the display.
3. To cancel repeat play, press

Program Play
Program play allows the selected tracks play in desired order. 
Program function can only be operated in stop mode.
1. Turn on the power and press the FUNCTION button to select CD
mode.
2. Press MEMORY/SET button (in stop mode), first “2”will appear 
for about 2 seconds and then “” will flash on the display.
3. Press 
MEMORY/SET button to store the track in memory.
4. To add additional tracks, repeat setp 2 ~ 3.

• Check the program order.
• Press MEMORY/SET button repeatedly.
• To stop program play, press STOP button or select other function
by pressing FUNCTION button.
• The same track can be selected more than once in the same
program.
• A maximum of 20 tracks can be programmed.
• With program on, the  or  skip function is available only for the
selected tracks.
• REPEAT play can be performed during program play.

WAKE UP TO ALARM (TUNER,CD OR BUZZER)
The TUNER, CD or BUZZER automatically sounds at the designated 
time everyday. You can set two different kinds of alarm time, one for
ALARM 1 and the other for ALARM 2.
Setting Alarm 1 (Same As Setting ALARM 2)
1. Press STANDBY button to return to clock mode.
2. Press ALARM 1 button until “ ” 
and alarm time start to flash.
Note:
If ALARM 1 button is pressed 
again, this operation will go cycle 
until wake up mode (TUNER, CD 
or BUZZER) is confirmed by 
pressing MEMORY/SET button.

confirm Alarm 1 wake up time.

Alarm On with Tuner, CD and Buzzer
When the designated alarm time comes, 
the selected sound source (TUNER, CD 
or BUZZER) will be triggered and the 
ALARM symbol will start to flash.
Turn Off the Alarm
To turn off the alarm, press STANDBY, ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button. 
The alarm will go off instantly until the same time next day.
Important note:
In case of wake up with TUNER or CD, no other operation such as 
CD Stop can be made until turn off the alarm by pressing STANDBY, 
ALARM 1 or ALARM 2, and then change the unit to TUNER or CD 
mode for further operations.
To Review the Set Alarm Time
• Press ALARM button while the unit is in power off.
To Cancel Alarm Mode
•  Press ALARM  button until all wake up modes (TUNER, CD or 
BUZZER) disappear from the display, then press MEMORY/SET 
button to confirm.
Snooze
• Press SNOOZE button allows you to enjoy another 5 minutes’ 
sleep. Alarm will be on again after 5 minutes of each press of 
SNOOZE button until STANDBY, ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button is 
pressed.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
General Guidelines
• Do not touch the laser lens on the CD player.
• Temperature changes may cause condensation on the laser lens. 
If condensation forms on the lens, leave the unit for about an hour 
until condensation evaporated.
• Do not leave the unit exposure directly under sunlight or extreme 
heat such as inside a car parked in the sun. This can cause damage 
or malfunction.
• To prevent dust from reaching internal components, do not leave 
compartment door such as back up battery door opened at all time.
• Do not cover unit with cloth.
Handling of Compact Disc
• Although the music tracks in the disc are covered with enclosure, 
it is still advisable to treat the disc carefully. Always pick up the disc 
by the edge and put them back in the holders immediately after use.
• Always wipe the compact disc from centre to the edge of disc with 
a piece of velvet or soft dry cloth.
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
CD
Problems

PRECAUTIONS
On Safety
As the laser beam used in this compact disc player could be harmful 
to the eyes, do not attempt to disassemble the casing. Refer servicing 
to qualified personnel only.
• Do not put any foreign objects in the disc compartment. If you do so, 
the laser beam interlock may be defeated allowing the laser to 
remain on when the lid is opened.
• Do not put any foreign objects in the DC 9V(external power input) 
jack. Should any solid objects or liquid fall into the unit, disconnect 
the power supply and have the unit checked by qualified personnel 
before any further operation.
On Operation
Since the CD system offers a wide dynamic range, the peaks of the 
high level inputs are recorded with high fidelity, and the noise level is 
very low. Do not turn up the volume while listening to a part of the disc 
with no audio signals or very low level inputs. If you do so, the 
speakers may be damaged when the peak level of the sound is 
played. The lens of the laser should be kept clean. Do not touch the 
lens or poke at it with your fingers. If you do so, the lens may be 
damaged and the unit will not operate correctly.
On Use
Never use the unit where it would be subject to:
- Heat sources such as radiators or airducts.
- Direct sunlight.
- Excessive dust.
- Moisture or rain.
- Mechanical vibration or shock.
- Unleveled surface.
• Do not place any heavy object on top of the unit.
•  When the unit is used with an AC power adaptor, do not wrap the
unit in a cloth, blanket, etc. If you do so, the temperature inside
and outside the unit may rise considerably, resulting in 
malfunctioning of the unit.
• If the unit is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is 
placed in a very damp room, the moisture may condense on the 
lens inside the unit. Should this occur, the unit will not operate. In 
this case, remove the disc and leave the unit in a warm place for 
several hours until the moisture evaporates.
• For the unit to operate at its best, it should not be subjected to 
temperatures below 5°C (41° F) or above 35°C (95° F).

Connect the AC power cord to a wall outlet.

To Search For a Station Automatically
• Press and hold the  or  button still for 1to 2 seconds, and a
station is searched automatically. Search will automatically stop 
when a station is tuned.
Note:
• The search may not stop at a station if the broadcast station signal
is too weak.
Presetting Station Setting
The unit can store AM - 10 stations, FM - 10 stations. It can be tuned 
into by selecting their preset numbers. It is possible to store station of 
any band in order of your choice.
1. Press BAND to select FM or AM band.
2. Press 
 or  button to tune to a desired station.
3. Press MEMORY/SET  button 
until “MEMORY” indicator flash.
4. Press PRESET + or PRESET- 
button to select channel number.
5. Press MEMORY/SET button until “MEMORY” indicator lights up to 
memorize the station.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for the next preset.
Tuning Into a Preset Station
1. Press BAND button to select FM 
or AM band.

button to select a preset number.
DISPLAY COLOR AND BRIGHTNESS
• Press DIMMER button to change the LCD display brightness.
• Press COLORS button to repeatedly select the multi-color display 
changed cyclically as below.
SETTING SLEEP FUNCTION
When the sleep timer is used, the power will be automatically turned 
off after the specified time passes.
Set in CD or Tuner Mode
1. Press SLEEP button while the
power is on. “SLEEP” and “”
