The SPS/Audiovox CD Changer system installed in your vehicle
has beendesigned to operateusing the controls of the factory radio.
In general, the operation of the CD Changer will be as per the
instructions for the audio equipment included with your vehicle
Owner’s Manual. However, thereare afew differences asdescribed
herein, so please refer to this booklet for questions you may have
on the system operation.
Since the CD Changerwill operatethrough thesound systemof the
vehicle, adjustmentof theaudio functions (volume,tone, balance,
etc.) is made by using the controls on the car stereo.
The specific details on the handling of discs and the use of the CD
magazine (loading,removal, etc.) willbe found within the Owner’s
Manual of the compatiblechanger usedin thesystem. Please note
that the discs areloaded labelside up in some changer models and
label side down in other models. The correct method is shown in
the manualfor thechanger and is indicated onthe magazineitself.
Make sure to load the discs correctly asthe changerwill notoperate
if the discs are inserted up-side-down.
SETTING UPFOR OPERATION
Following the instructions in theOwner’s Manualof theCD Changer,
load the desired number of discs into the CD magazine and insert
the magazine into the changer.
With the car stereo operating, turn on the CD Changer by pressing
the “CD” button on the radio. Play of the changer will begin and the
disc number and track number will appearon theradio displaypanel.
Play will begin from the first disc if a new CD magazine has been
loaded intothe changer or will resumefrom the point at whichit had
previously playedif amagazine was already in the changer. Adjust
the volume,tone, andbalance toyour taste by using thecontrols on
the car stereo.
When the lasttrack on a disc hasplayed, the unit will automatically
advance to and begin play of the next disc in the magazine. When
the last track on the last disc in the magazine has been played, the
unit will automatically return to the first disc and continue playing.
To return to radio operation from CD play, press the radio band
button (“AM FM” or “AM” “FM” depending on radio type). To return
to tape operation fromCD play,simply inserta tapeinto thecassette
deck or, if a tape is already loading in the deck, press the “TAPE”
button. To return to CD Changer operation from radio or tape play,
press the “CD” button.
NOTE: Forvehicles with rear seat audiocontrols, pressing the rear
control “BAND” button will change from CD play to radio
operation, but returning to CD operation must be done by
activating the “CD” button on the dashboard radio.

DISC SELECT (DISCS)
Press the Disc Select button to select the desired disc for play as
indicated on the display panel. The unit will load the selected disc
and begin play. To advance to a higher number disc, press the
side of the button.To return to a lower number, press theside.
TRACK SELECT (SEEK)
The Track Select function is used to quickly access the beginning
of a particular track. Press the Forward ( ) or Backward () side
of the button to locate the desired track as shown by the track
number indication on the display panel.
NOTE: Ifthe Backward TrackSelect () ispressed before the first
5 seconds of a track have played, the unit will select the
previous track. If pressed after the first 5 seconds of the
track have played, the unit will go to the beginning of the
track in play.
FAST-FORWARD / REWIND (FF / REW)
High-speed audible search to any section of the disc can be made
by the Fast-Forward and Rewind functions. Press and hold the FF
button toadvance quicklyin theforward direction or press theREW
button to advance rapidly in the backward direction. During FastForward or Rewind operation,the elapsedtime willbe shownon the
display panel. Fast-Forward will notproceed pastthe endof thelast
track on the disc and Rewind will not proceed past the beginning of
the first track. Play will resume from that point when the button is
released.
SHUFFLE PLAY
When the Shuffle button is pressed, the indication “SHF” will
momentarily appearon thedisplay panel andthe trackson the disc
will be played in a random, shuffled order. The Track Select
( SEEK ) function will alsoselect tracksin shuffled order instead
of the normal progression. Shuffle mode can be canceled by
pressing the Shuffle button again (“SHF OFF” will momentarily
appear on the display panel) or by activating the Scan function.
INTRO-SCAN
When theScan buttonis pressed,the first 10 seconds ofeach track
on thedisc will beplayed in order and the track number will flash on
the displaypanel. When adesired track is reached, pressthe Scan
button again and play of that track will continue (the track number
will stop flashing). Scan mode will also be canceled by activating
the DiscSelect, TrackSelect (track numberwill changeup or down
depending on which directionis pressed),Fast-Forward, orRewind
buttons.
NOTE: Pressing the Shuffle button while in Scan mode will cancel
the Scan function butthe tracknumber will continue to flash
on thedisplay panel. If the Shuffle button ispressed again,
Shuffle modewill becanceled and Scan mode will resume.
COMPRESSION ADJUST (COMP)
This feature is not available on the CD Changer in your vehicle so
activating this button will not have any effect, although the “C”
indication will appear on the display panel.

ERROR CODES
If a problem should developwhile operatingthe CDChanger, thefollowing errorcodes mayappear onthe displaypanel of the radio:
NO CD: Indicates that thereis no magazine in thechanger or nodiscs in the magazine. Load
discs into the magazine and insert the magazine into the changer as per the
instructions in the Owner’s Manual of the changer.
NO DJ: Indicates that the CD Changer is not connected to or is not being recognized
by the radio. Contact an approved warranty station for further assistance.
TROUBLESHOOTING
An error made in operation or during installation of this product may be mistaken for a system malfunction. Please perform
the checks described below before contacting your dealer or service facility.
Symptom
No power
Magazine cannot be
installed
CD is not played
Noise, skipping, or
intermittent sound
during playback.
Check fuses in vehicle fuse box and changer system.
Replace as necessary with fuse of same type and rating as
original. If fuse blows again, consult with service facility.
Check all wiring and correct as necessary.
Insert magazine in proper direction.
Load disc correctly in the magazine.
Check sound on another disc. If sound from second disc is
OK, first disc is defective.
Clean disc
Set the mounting angle adjustment to the correct position as
per the installation instructions of the CD changer.
