LISTEN FOR MORE:
Purity, Presence, Depth & Detail
Our 50 Series premier studio microphones are designed to capture vocals and instruments
with profound realism and depth, presence and purity of sound. Featuring large-diaphragm
characteristics and fast transient response, the 50 Series microphones deliver remarkably
musical high-delity performance that’s in a class by itself.
50 Series
Premier Studio Microphones
Every 50 Series microphone is hand assembled and individually inspected for 100%
quality control. Each microphone is enclosed in an elegant housing of aluminum and
brass with a high-quality gray nish for durability and low reectivity. Discrete components
have been selected for optimized performance. The circuitry and capsule assembly are
mounted as a single block within a oating internal shock mount, effectively decoupling
the capsule from the microphone body for excellent isolation. In fact, every aspect of
these microphones has been carefully considered to minimize any negative effects on
the audio signal.
We’ve developed the 50 Series with an eye (and an ear) toward innovation, pushing and
manipulating microphone technology to achieve extreme purity of sound from elegant
recording tools that are as much works of art as the music they are meant to capture.
These are the microphones that showcase our latest technological breakthroughs and
set new standards for studio condensers.
The future is now. Listen for more.

AT 5040 Studio Vocal Microphone
Designed as a rst-choice vocal microphone, the AT5040 cardioid condenser melds four ultra-thin diaphragms to create Audio-Technica’s
largest element ever, with a combined surface area twice that of a standard one-inch circular diaphragm. By using four diaphragms in a single
capsule, the AT5040 delivers all the large-diaphragm benets – along with an extremely low noise oor – without increased weight, decreased
transient response or other drawbacks that typically restrict diaphragm size. This, combined with advanced internal shock mounting, results in
a microphone with an extremely smooth top end, controlled sibilance and exquisite purity of sound.
• Audio-Technica’s premier studio condenser vocal microphone
• Extremely musical high-delity performance, with profound
realism and depth, presence and purity of sound
• Four rectangular diaphragms (2 micron) function together
as Audio-Technica’s largest-ever element, providing combined
surface area twice that of a standard circular one-inch diaphragm
• Exceptionally low noise and wide dynamic range ideal for
studio vocals
• Discrete components carefully selected for optimized
capsule performance
• High-SPL capability and extended frequency response
• Hand built and inspected for 100% quality control
• Advanced internal shock mounting decouples the capsule from
the microphone body
• Elegant, durable housing of aluminum and brass
• Included advanced-design custom AT8480 shock mount provides
superior isolation
• Custom hard-shell carrying case with die-cut foam compartments
offers protection during storage and transport
