A Few Words about Your VS 3.5 Home Theater Speaker System

The VS 3.5 is designed to accurately reproduce high fidelity music, as well as the most demanding home theater sound. The
elegantly styled LS 300/C center channel speaker is video-shielded for placement directly above or below your television, while
the LS 300 satellite speakers include color matched mounting brackets for ease of placement in any environment.

Speaker Placement

The LS 300/C center channel speaker should be placed as closely as possible to the television, either directly above or below
the screen. The first pair of LS 300 satellites should be placed about two feet from either side of your screen, near ear level and
no more than seven feet apart. As with all speakers, positioning near a corner will enhance bass performance.

The second pair of LS 300 satellites should be located on either side of or behind your listening position. In a typical room,
their ideal position would be as high as possible on the side walls, about two-thirds of the way toward the back of the room.
Please bear in mind that these are simply general guidelines and your room and furnishings may require that you experiment
with speaker placement.

Speaker Mounting

The LS 300 satellite speakers include color matched mounting brackets. Always mount these speakers on a wall that is
reinforced from behind. Never mount a speaker on a wall made of unreinforced drywall or plasterboard. If you are unsure, consult
a professional contractor. These speakers can also be placed on bookshelves or any type of speaker stand.

Hooking It All Up

The gold-plated binding posts on each of your VS 3.5 speakers will accommodate nearly any type of connector. For bare
wire, press the binding post in to reveal the eye. Thread the wire into the eye, and release the spring-loaded connector. For
banana plugs, simply insert the banana plug into the end of the connector. The binding post speaker terminals on the VS 3.5
speakers will accommodate up to 14-gauge wire.

When connecting the speakers, it is very important to observe the correct polarity. This means that the wire attached to
the +, red, or positive terminal on one component must be attached to the +, red, or positive terminal on the corresponding
component's speaker output terminals. Similarly, the –, black, negative, or ground terminals must connect to the respective
–, black, negative, or ground terminals. This is easy to do by locating the color, stripe, or ribbing that appears on most wire.

1. Connect the left front speaker terminals (+ & -) of your receiver to the left LS 300 front speaker.

2. Connect the right front speaker terminals (+ & -) of your receiver to the right LS 300 front speaker.

3. Connect the left surround speaker terminals (+ & -) of your receiver to the left LS 300 rear surround speaker.

4. Connect the right surround speaker terminals (+ & -) of your receiver to the right LS 300 rear surround speaker.

5. Connect the center channel speaker terminals (+ & -) of your receiver to the LS 300/C center channel speaker.
