POWER SUPPLY
Ensure that the insource voltage (AC outlet) matches the voltage rating of the product. Failure to do so could result in damage to the product and possibly the user. Unplug the product before electrical storms occur and when unused for long periods of time to reduce the risk of electric shock or fire.

EXTERNAL CONNECTION
Always use proper ready-made insulated mains cabling (power cord). Failure to do so could result in shock/death or fire. If in doubt, seek advice from a registered electrician.
FUSE
To prevent fire and damage to the product, use only the recommended fuse type as indicated in this manual. Do not short-circuit the fuse holder. Before replacing the fuse, make sure that the product is OFF and disconnected from the ACD outlet.
PROTECTIVE GROUND
Before turning the unit on, make sure that it is connected to Ground. This is to prevent the risk of electric shock. Never cut internal or external Ground wires. Like wise, never remove Ground wiring from the Protective Ground Terminal.

Important Safety Instructions

DO NOT REMOVE ANY COVERS
Within the product are areas where high voltages may present. To reduce the risk of electric shock do not remove any covers unless the AC mains power cord is removed. Covers should be removed by qualified service personnel only. No user serviceable parts inside.
POWER CORD AND PLUG
Do not tamper with the power cord or plug. These are designed for your safety. Do not remove Ground connections! If the plug does not fit your AC outlet seek advice from a qualified electrician. Protect the power cord and plug from any physical stress to avoid risk o electric shock. Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. This could cause electric shock or fire?

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Audiopole CDR 5. The device is a compact multi-format audio player and a recorder designed for fixed installations. It is the ideal solution to record messages and music from few seconds to several hours. CDR 5 includes a CD/USB/SD player plus a digital stereo recorder with individual outputs and volume controls.
The recorder converts and stores the signal from the stereo input into a VOC format. The USB port of the recorder is used to transfer MP3 files from a computer or a storage media. The internal flash memory capacity is 128 MB, including 99 presets VOC and 99 presets MP3 for a total of 120 minutes. It can be extend up to 16 hours with 1 GB external SD card.

a - Play
Selection of the playback format
CDR 5 memorizes and reads MP3 and VOC audio formats. Every format has is own memory bank from 1 to 99. To select the format press MODE then VO/M3. The display shows “VOC” or “PM3”.
Playback
Press or to select the memory. In MP3 mode, empty memories are not displayed. In VOC mode, all memories from 01 to 99 are displayed whatever their content. To start press PLAY.
Pause / Stop
The first pressure on PAUSE stops playing. The second pressure restarts the playback where it was stopped. To stop definitively press STOP.
Time
The duration of the file contained in each memory is displayed in the main menu. During playback the counter indicates the time elapsed since the beginning.
Repeat
This function is operated with key. In MP3 mode, the first pressure launches the repetition of the current file, a second pressure launches the repetition of all the files in the memory. In VOC mode, only the repetition of one single file is possible.
Fast Forward and Rewind
Use keys.
A-B Repeat
During playing, push the key to indicate any point as start point (A point) and finish point(B point) on a track, the machine will repeat from A to B point until you push the key again to release the function and continue to play.
EQ
4 EQ modes are available: CLASSIC, POP, ROCK, JAZZ. Press MODE and EQ to select your choice. The display shows the selection.
Output Level
Can be adjusted with VOLUME knob..
Internal Flash Memory / Accessory SD Card
Press MODE then F/C. The display shows “ F ” for internal memory and “ C ” for external SD card.







b - Record
For recording use the REC IN connectors on the rear panel. Then select the LINE IN function by pressing the MODE and LINE keys.
Recording mode
Le CDR 5 only uses VOC format for recording, it is therefore necessary to select this mode using the procedure described in the previous chapter. Then press the REC button The display will show a blinking dot that flashes after a few seconds, indicating the effective start of the recording. If the memory already contains a file, recording does not start and the screen displays the icon .
Delete
To delete a recorded file successively press the MODE and DEL keys. MODE et DEL. “ d EL” appears at the bottom right of the screen once the file has been deleted. Press the DEL button again to return to the main menu.
Memory numbers
in VOC mode, all numbers are displayed from 1 to 99, even with empty memories. Only the visualization of the time counter can identify the presence or absence of a file.
SD cards
The capacity of the internal flash memory is 128 MB, about 120 minutes of audio. The use of SD memory cards allows to increase considerably the storage time, knowing that the recorder accepts cards up to 1 GB offering approximately 16 hours of audio.
c - File transfer form a computer
PC file transfer is operated very simply from the front panel USB port. Connect the port to the computer with the supplied USB cable and adjust the output level to zero to avoid noise during data transfer. The computer must recognize the presence of a new storage unit. If not, install the USB pilot supplied with the device. Once the connection is valid, the device displays “USb C” ; Play and Record functions are no more available. The device memory is considered by the computer as two removable disks, one to store the files into the internal flash memory and the other into the external SD card memory.
Drag the file from the computer to the device memory. During data transfer the CDR-5 displays
“data t”. Do not disconnect the USB cable during this procedure.

POWER
Audio Player power switch. It is active only when the master power switch is On.
MUTE
Immediately mute the sound when the key is pressed.
RAN / ENTER
Random play of the tracks (SHUFFLE) / Enter key for confirmation.
REPEAT
Repeat mode:
CD format
When pressed one time, it activates one file repeat (REPEAT 1). When pressed two times, it activates all files repeat (REPEAT ALL). A last press cancels the command.
MP3 format
Same as above but with additional folder repeat function (REPEAT FOLDER).
Track number
In MP3 mode, only the memories containing a file get a track number. The display shows “F no F” if all memories are empty. The track no. is automatic and sequential. It is modified when a new file is deleted or loaded from the computer. So, it is not possible to get a fix no. when a change occurs. In order to freeze the track no., it is necessary to use the VOC mode. This format allows to read MP3 files if they are named like this:
For internal memory: m_int_xx.mp3 (xx is the track number to keep) For external SD memory:m_ext_xx.mp3 (xx is the track number to keep)
By keeping their original format, the renamed files are transferred from the MP3 bank memory to the VOC one. To come back to the initial play mode, just come back to the original name and syntax.

PROG
CD format:
Press the key to program 10 preset memories. The display shows PROGRAM, the tracks to store are selected by SKIP REV and SKIP F.WD keys. Then confirm the selection by pressing ENTER for each track. The device starts to play when the PLAY key is activated, the display indicates MEMORY.
MP3 Format:
Same as above but including a folder selection with FOLDER keys.
The device plays in the memories order. Changing the memory number is possible by using the SKIP REV and SKIP F.WD keys. Warning, if the PROG function is deactivated all memories are deleted.
CD / USB / SD
Source selection between CD player, USB port and SD slot. The selection is activated only if the media is physically present. The device automatically starts playing after the activation.
The player reads 12 cm CD, CD-R, CD-RW and MP3, WMA files coming from the USB port or from the SD slot. 8 cm disks or data CD are not compatible. When the CD is inserted into the drive or ejected from it, it is imperative not to force and hinder the movement at risk of damaging the mechanism.
STOP / EJECT
One press deactivates the running function, two consecutive presses ejects the CD.
PLAY / PAUSE
Activation of the Play and Pause functions.
SKIP REV.
One short press activates the selection of the previous file, one long press activates the fast rewind function.
SKIP F.WD
One short press activates the selection of the NEXT file, one long press activates the fast forward function.
FOLDER
Selection of the next folder.
FOLDER
Selection of the previous folder.
VOLUME
Output volume setting.
USB
USB socket to connect to a computer or a memory stick.
SD
SD card reader. The maximum SD memory capacity is 1 GB: it corresponds up to 16 hours of audio.

c - Save
If the power switch of the player is activated, all data will be saved. The player starts again at the point it was stopped. This cannot work if the main power switch is activated or if there is a mains supply failure.

Terminals for back up power supply 12 V DC. In the event of mains power failures, the DC power takes over automatically. When connecting, observe the correct polarity.
5 - Power outlet / Fuse
Before any connections make sure that the power cable is not damaged. The connection to the mains supply must have an earth connection. The mains voltage supplied must conform with the electrical characteristics of the device . The compartment below contains the fuse. In the event of change, it is imperative to use a fuse with identical electrical characteristics at risk of damaging the device.

For optimal operation, the remote must be pointed in the direction of the device. The maximum operating distance is about 3 meters. Power is provided by a flat lithium battery, type CR2025 3 V . The battery change is done as follows:

This device is warranted parts and labor against any manufacturing defects for a period of two years from the date of purchase by the first user.
Conditions
1. The unit has been installed and implemented by observing the safety instructions in this operating manual.
2. The device was not diverted from its destination, either voluntary or accidental, and suffered no deterioration or modification other than those described here or explicitly authorized by AUDIOPOLE.
3. All modifications or repairs have been carried out by an authorized service station.
4. The defective product must be returned with the dealer who made the sale or to an authorized service station with proof of purchase.
5. The device was properly packaged to avoid damage in transport.
