INSTALLATION MANUAL
MONOGIZER 200 & MONOGIZER 300 w/ OPTIMATCH
TM
Converts Stereo Signals to Mono.
SPECIFICATIONS
Attenuator Type: Tapped auto transformer. Connector: Screw-tight type. Power Rating: 72 Watts RMS continuous, 35 Hz-20 KHz, 216 Watts Audio.
100 Watts RMS continuous, 35 Hz-20 KHz, 300 Watts Audio.
20 KHz, measured at full power, 8 Ohm load. Most controls better these specifications.
Transformers: Tri-filar wound for flat response and minimum phase shift, grain
orientated high silicon steel laminations.
Attenuation: -34 dB in 12 steps, 8 steps @ -3 dB each, 1 step @ 4 dB, 1 step @
-6 dB, last step OFF.
OPTIMATCH(tm): Will match impedance for almost any situation. Mechanical index
permits presetting load impedance multiplication by X4, X8, X16, X32, X64, etc., which can be changed at any time. Mounting: 72 Watt version Fits into most standard single gang electrical boxs.
100 Watt version requires a double gang box.
Your MONOGIZER(tm) is designed to convert Stereo signals to Mono eliminating the need for dual-cone speakers.
This unit is not for use on bridged amplifiers.

INSTALLATION
Follow the wiring diagram on the next page for installation of your MONOGIZER . Prepare the wire leads to and from the
TM
MONOGIZER(tm) by stripping about 1/4" of insulation from each of the ends. Twist strands tightly together so that none stick out to cause a possible short. Observe Polarity!
If you are using the impedance matching feature of the OPTIMATCH(tm) control, set the index following the chart below. To
set, remove the knob and loosen the nut to reposition the index. Make sure that the index is not between detent positions and tighten.
Install the control in its operating location. The MONOGIZER will fit in most double gang junction boxes. (SUGGESTION:
TM
Leave control 3 or 4 positions CCW from maximum before firing up the system for the first time to avoid "blasting" the speakers, while still having enough sound to observe operation.
If amplifier balance is adjusted left or right of center, the audio level will go down. The balance control should be kept to center if possible. CAUTION! Under no circumstances should this unit be fed with a single channel positive. Both left and right positives must be utilized. The Monogizer should not be attached to your system without a load to it's output, i.e. A speaker or the equivalent wattage dummy load resistor.

SETTING
We do not recommend wiring more than 8 Optimatch(tm) controls in parallel (NOTE: Do not run more than (2)-8 Ohm speakers per channel). In these instances more impedance protection should be inserted before the volume controls. The OC-12 is a good choice in this case.
