Wer in Verbindung mit Subwoofern nur an kleine, allein auf verlorenem Posten spielenden Satelliten­Ergänzungen denkt, kennt nur die populäre Seite des Themas. Wer sich jedoch schon einmal genauer mit der
Materie auseinandergesetzt hat, der weiß, dass die externen Bassmacher (Tieftonkünstler?) viel mehr
Einsatzgebiete kennen. So profitieren auch „ausgewachsene“ Standboxen von einer perfekt abgestimmten

Unterstützung in den untersten Oktaven. Audio Physic verzichtet zugunsten einer reali-

stischen, räumlichen Abbildung auf die übliche Filterung der
Hauptlautsprecher. Sie laufen unbeeinflusst mit, was die Ortbarkeit ein-

zelner Schallquellen verbessert. Ihr Lautsprecher-System ergänzt durch
einen oder sogar zwei Luna II gewinnt an Souveränität, das Klangbild
wird plastischer mit einem soliden Fundament. So macht sich ein sorgfäl­tig konstruierter Woofer wie der Luna II bei korrekter Einstellung seiner

zahlreichen Regler weniger durch „fettere“ Bässe bemerkbar, sondern
durch gesteigerte Präzision und mühelosere Wiedergabe.

Natürlich eignet sich der aktive, sprich mit eigener 180-Watt-Endstufe ver­sehene Luna II auch zu fulminanten Heimkino-Missionen. Hier profitieren
Sie von seinem LFE-Eingang und einer ausgeklügelten Signalerkennung,
die automatisch den für Stereo-Betrieb optimalen Lautsprecher-Eingang

abschaltet wenn ein Signal vom AV-Steuergerät geliefert wird. Eine weite­re Spezialität des Luna II nennt sich Room-Gain, eine clevere

Raumanpassung. Sie haben das letzte Wort in Sachen Klangabstimmung
– Audio Physic gibt Ihnen die leicht zu handhabenden Werkzeuge in die
Hand. Der komplett neu entwickelte Nachfolger des überaus erfolgreichen
Luna spielt sein Potenzial am besten an der Seite der Audio Physic Spark,

Tempo, Padua und Virgo aus, eignet sich durch seine Anpassungsfähigkeit
aber auch für eine Vielzahl von Boxen anderer Hersteller.

Contrary to what many people think, a subwoofer is much more than just
a small peripheral loudspeaker that solely attempts to complement a

satellite system as best it can. A closer look at the topic reveals an
astounding range of possibilities where a subwoofer as master and com­mander of the bass frequencies can be applied. Even mature floor stan­ding loudspeakers can take advantage of immaculately controlled low fre-

quencies to underpin the soundscape of the bottom octaves. At Audio
Physic we felt the need to be able to generate realistic spatial sound cues

without filtering of the main speakers. As a result, the loudspeakers are
allowed to perform unhampered, and the spatial perception of sound sour­ces is improved. The addition of one, or even better, two Luna II’s to your

loudspeaker configuration will greatly add to the sound quality so that you

will enjoy a more generous bass foundation and an increasingly dimensional sound

image. Because of its design ingenuity, the Luna II provides an increased level of precision

with effortless ease and transparency when its numerous functions are adjusted correctly.

Of course, the active-powered Luna II, driven by its own powerful 180 watt amplifier, can also deliver earth
moving effects and incredible depths to enhance your home theatre experience. Due to the subwoofer’s LFE
input and sophisticated automatic signal detection, the loudspeaker input, which is optimized for stereo appli­cations, is turned off when an input signal is detected from an AV receiver. In addition, the Luna II comes
with a ROOMGAIN function that allows exact adjustment to the individual characteristics of your listening
room. At Audio Physic we are aware that the final word is yours in terms of sound adjustment and we are
committed to providing you with appropriate, easy to handle equipment. Due to its flexibility and adjustabili­ty, this newly designed successor to the original much loved Luna is ideally suited to partner Audio Physic
Spark, Tempo, Padua and Virgo loudspeakers as well as loudspeakers from other manufacturers..

Die wichtigsten Besonderheiten des Luna II sind:

In addition to the controls for CROSSOVER FREQUENCY and BASS
LEVEL on the back panel, you can also adjust the subwoofer to match
the PHASE of your main speakers. The Luna II’s trump card is its
superbly increased precision and impressively stable sound stage as
opposed to loud and flashy booms or rumbles. Speaking of rumbles:
the special ROOMGAIN function allows exact adjustment of the Luna
II to the individual characteristics of your listening room. At Audio
Physic we believe that a subwoofer should never be used to merely
pressurise a room with bass - a principle that we have demonstrated
superbly in our reference class loudspeaker the Kronos.

One LFE output of the Luna II is fitted with a cinch socket for optimal
hook-up to a surround receiver. The switchable input accommodates a
subwoofer BYPASS switch that allows you to bypass the filter circuit
and conveniently use your AV receiver to adjust the bass settings. If
the switch is set to FILTER, the subwoofer reverts to the settings that it
was adjusted to on the back panel. The automatic signal detection
turns off the loudspeaker inputs whenever an input signal is detected
on a LFE channel. The signal from your loudspeaker cables will then
be fed through to the main speakers, whereby the subwoofer receives
the LFE signal. In other words, this double feature allows your Luna II
to complement any stereo or surround system and deliver best results.

The built-in amplifier is equipped with opto-electronic, soft-clipping cir­cuitry that further enhances the sound performance and increases the
maximum sound pressure level. The active design allows the subwoo­fer to specifically correct particular properties of the drive units. A
sophisticated solution that offers some real benefits to both movie and
music lovers.

Auf der Rückseite des Woofers regeln Sie ohne Umstände die
Übergangsfrequenz, den Bass-Pegel und passen stufenlos die
Phase an Ihre Hauptlautsprecher an. Denn der Luna II soll durch
gesteigerte Präzision und Abbildungsstabilität glänzen, nicht
durch vorlaute Bass-Effekte oder gar Grummeln auffallen. Apropos
Grummeln: Die spezielle Room-Gain-Funktion hilft Ihnen, den
Luna II optimal an Ihre Raumakustik anzupassen. Schließlich soll
der Subwoofer den Raum nicht mit Bass übersättigen. Ein Prinzip,
das sich auch am Referenzlautsprecher Kronos bestens bewährt.

Ein LFE-Eingang mit Cinch-Buchse ermöglicht den optimalen
Einsatz des Luna II mit einem Surround-Receiver. Dieser Eingang
ist umschaltbar – in der Schalterstellung BYPASS wird die einbau­te Filterstufe überbrückt, damit Sie Ihr AV-Steuergerät zur Bass­Anpassung benutzen können. Die Schalterstellung FILTER verwen­det die Einstellung, die Sie auf der Rückseite Ihres Subwoofers vor­genommen haben. Eine Signalerkennung schaltet automatisch die
Lautsprecher-Eingänge ab, wenn ein Eingangssignal an einer LFE­Buchsen anliegt. Sie können also Ihren Luna II problemlos doppelt
verdrahten und erzielen für Stereo und Surround die besten
Ergebnisse.

Die eingebaute Endstufe ist mit einer optoelektronisch gesteuer­ten Softclipping-Schaltung ausgestattet. Davon profitiert die
Wiedergabequalität und der erzielbare maximale Schalldruck
steigt. Die aktive Auslegung ermöglicht zudem die gezielte
Korrektur von Eigenheiten der eingesetzten Chassis. Ein Aufwand,
der nicht nur Heimkino-Fans begeistert, sondern auch audiophile
Hörer überzeugt.
