#Connect the line cord to the wall socket.

WALL MOUNTING
The Audioline TEL2 can be wall mounted directly onto the standard wall plate or to the
wall using the template (provided) and suitable screws (not provided).
When wall mounting you will need to rotate the handset retaining clip (located on the
cradle) 180 degrees to ensure the handset remains on the cradle.
TO CALL
# Lift the handset and wait for dial tone.
# Dial the phone number.
# Finish the call by replacing the handset or pressing the hook switch (item 2 on
diagram).
LAST NUMBER REDIAL
If the number you called is busy or if you want to call the previous number again, just
press the
NOTE: Only manually dialled numbers can be redialled in this way. Direct memories can not be
redialled by this method.

VOLUME CONTROL
With the Volume Controls (item 6 on diagram) [VOL •] and [VOL –] you can increase
or decrease the earpiece volume.
NOTE: For use in Australia the volume adjustment should not be set higher than step 2. Settings
3 to 6 may cause the equipment to be outside the Australian requirements.
For use in New Zealand the volume adjustment should not be set higher than step 4. Setting 5 and
6 may cause the equipment to be outside the New Zealand requirements.
MUTE BUTTON
If you wish to converse with a third party privately simply press the [STORE/MUTE] button
(item 8 on the diagram). The red indicator will flash when the mute function is active.
Press the
[STORE/MUTE] button again to continue the conversation.

DIRECT MEMORY
This telephone has 3 direct memories (item 3 on diagram M1-M3) where you can store
phone numbers. When you have stored a number in the direct memory, you can dial that
number by pressing only one button.

INDIRECT MEMORY
The telephone has 10 indirect memories, where additional numbers can be stored.
Numbers stored in the indirect memories, can be dialled by simply pressing two buttons.
The memory locations are 0-9.

# Enter the phone number (max 21 digits)

Dialling with indirect memory:
# Lift the handset and wait for signal.

# Choose the indirect memory (0-9) with the digits. The telephone will automatically
dial the stored number.
If you want to change a number, enter the new number and the old will be replaced.
If you wish to insert a pause (3 seconds) into the dialling sequence, press the
button (item 7 on diagram).

ADJUSTABLE RINGER
This telephone has programmable ringer selection. You can select between three levels
of three types of ring signal plus ringer off.

PSelect required ring signal by pressing buttons 0 - 9 as per table below.

PReplace the handset, the ring signal is now selected
*If setting 0 is selected, the ring signal will be turned off until the handset is lifted
again. After that, the ring signal reverts to the previous setting.
RECALL
The [RECALL] button can be used to access additional Network services and PBX
functions. The Audioline TEL2 is pre-set to 100ms Time Break Recall for Australia and
600ms for New Zealand.

TROUBLESHOOTING
NO DIAL TONE
Try the phone in a known good socket to establish whether the fault is with the phone or
the line.
PHONE DOES NOT RING
Lift and replace the handset and reset the ringer to the previous setting.
MEMORY NUMBERS NOT DIALLING CORRECTLY
Repeat the memory storage procedure and retry.
WARNING
It is recommended that you disconnect your telephone during a thunderstorm as you can
get a shock from your telephone (and other electrical appliances). We recommend you
follow these simple precautions during a thunderstorm:
# Do not use your telephone unless the call is urgent.
# If you must use your telephone, make the call as brief as possible and keep clear of
electrical equipment and metal fixtures.
# Do not stand in bare feet on uncovered concrete floors.
# Do not touch brick or concrete walls.
NOTE: Do not install your telephone in damp or high humidity locations, such as a laundry or
bathroom. If any damage is caused by such elements it is not covered by the manufacturers
warranty.
CLEANING
The casing should be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth.
# Do not use abrasives, solvents or spray polish that may enter through holes in the
earpiece and mouthpiece and cause damage.
# Do not place the telephone in direct sunlight or use in extreme humidity.

REN (RN for New Zealand)
The REN (Ringer Equivalance Number) or RN is of significance only if you wish to
connect more than 1 telephone to your telephone line. Your telephone line has a maximum
REN capacity of 3 (RN of 5). Your Audioline TEL2 has a REN of 1 (RN of 1), thus it is
feasible to connect 2 (4) more telephones of a value of 1 to your system. You should not
exceed a value of 3 (5) on the complete system, otherwise the volume of the ringer in any
phone will decrease and one telephone may not ring at all.
GUARANTEE
If you believe your TEL2 is malfunctioning, please refer to the relevant section and/or
consult the troubleshooting guide in this manual to ensure that you have followed the
instructions carefully.
The TEL2 is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. In the
unlikely event of a fault during this period, please contact us for assistance. If the product
is then found to be faulty you will be asked to return it directly to us with a copy of the
purchase receipt.
