Lesen Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung sorgfältig durch.

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung

Diese Sprechfunkgeräte sind geeignet für die Kommunikation
mit anderen Sprechfunkgeräten gleichen Standards. Jede ande­re Verwendung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß. Eigenmächti­ge Veränderungen oder Umbauten sind nicht zulässig. Öffnen
Sie die Geräte in keinem Fall selbst und führen Sie keine eige­nen Reparaturversuche durch.

Verwendungsbereich

Vermeiden Sie Belastungen durch Rauch, Staub, Erschütterun­gen, Chemikalien, Feuchtigkeit, Hitze oder direkte Sonnenein­strahlung. Verwenden Sie die Funkgeräte nicht in explosionsge­fährdeten Bereichen.

Netzteil

a Achtung: Verwenden Sie nur das mitgelieferte Steckernetz-

teil, da andere Netzteile die Funkgeräte beschädigen können.
Sie dürfen den Zugang zum Steckernetzteil nicht durch Möbel
oder andere Gegenstände versperren.

Akkus

a Achtung: Werfen Sie Akkus nicht ins Feuer. Verwenden Sie

nur Akkus des gleichen Typs! Achten Sie auf die richtige Polung!
Bei verkehrter Polung der Akkus besteht beim Aufladen Explosi­onsgefahr.

Medizinische Geräte

a Achtung: Benutzen Sie das Telefon nicht in der Nähe von

medizinischen Geräten. Eine Beeinflussung kann nicht völlig
ausgeschlossen werden. Funkgeräte können in Hörgeräten
einen unangenehmen Brummton verursachen.

Sicherheitshinweise

Entsorgung

Sie sind gesetzlich zur sachgerechten Entsorgung
von Gebrauchsgütern verpflichtet. Hat Ihr Gerät
ausgedient, bringen Sie es zur Sammelstelle Ihres
kommunalen Entsorgungsträgers (z. B. Wertstoff­hof). Das nebenstehende Symbol bedeutet, dass
Sie das Gerät auf keinen Fall in den Hausmüll
werfen dürfen! Nach dem Elektro- und Elektronik­gerätegesetz sind Besitzer von Altgeräten gesetz­lich gehalten, alte Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte

Sicherheitshinweise

a Achtung: Lesen Sie vor der Inbetriebnahme unbedingt die

Sicherheitshinweise in Kapitel 1.

Verpackungsinhalt prüfen

Zum Lieferumfang gehören:

- zwei Funkgeräte mit Gürtelclip - zwei Akkupacks

- zwei Headsets - eine Ladestation

- eine Bedienungsanleitung - ein Netzteil

Akkupack einlegen

Öffnen Sie das Akkufach. Legen Sie den mitgelieferten Akku­pack ein. Achten Sie auf die richtige Polung! Schließen Sie das
Batteriefach.

a Achtung: Standard Akkus und Batterien werden in der

Ladestation nicht geladen. Verwenden Sie nur den mitgelieferten
Akkupack oder Akkupacks der gleichen Bauweise.

a Achtung: Wenn der Akkupack falsch eingesetzt wird

besteht Explosionsgefahr.
Ersetzen Sie den Akku nur durch einen Akku gleichen Typs
(Hersteller: LEXEL,Modell-Nummer: KEBT-085-1).

Setzen Sie Akkus niemals übermäßiger Hitze wie direkter
Sonneneinstrahlung, Feuer o. ä. aus.

Akkupack aufladen

Schließen Sie die Ladestation wie auf der Skizze abgebildet an.
Verwenden Sie aus Sicherheitsgründen nur das mitgelieferte
Netzteil.

Netzsteckdose

Stellen Sie die Funkgeräte vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme für
mindestens 14 Stunden in die Ladestation. Wenn die Funkgerä­te korrekt in der Ladestation stehen, leuchten die roten LEDs.
Die roten LEDs leuchten auch, wenn die Akkupacks komplett
aufgeladen sind.

a Achtung: Laden Sie die Funkgeräte nicht mit fremden

Aufladegeräten.
Der aktuelle Akkuladezustand wird im Display angezeigt:

voll halb schwach leer

Sobald die Anzeige im Display blinkt und Warntöne zu hören
sind, muss das Funkgerät aufgeladen werden.

Gürtelclip anbringen

Stecken Sie den Gürtelclip
in die dafür vorgesehene
Öffnung, bis er hörbar ein­rastet. Zum Entfernen drü­cken Sie auf den Gürtel­clip und ziehen ihn aus
der Öffnung.

Funkgeräte ein-/ausschalten

Zum Einschalten Menütaste drücken und
gedrückt halten. Sie hören einen Signalton. Im
Display werden der zuletzt eingestellte Kanal
und die Rufcodierung angezeigt und die
Betriebs-LED blinkt.

gedrückt halten.

Einstellen der Lautstärke

Drücken Sie vol+ oder vol - um die Lautstärke
zu erhöhen oder zu verringern.

Senden und empfangen

Senden Drücken Sie die PTT-(Sprech)taste, die

Betriebs-LED leuchtet.
Wird die PTT-(Sprech)taste länger als 60
Sekunden gedrückt, ertönt ein Warnton. Die
Übertragung wird unterbrochen.

☞ Halten Sie das Funkgerät ca. 5 bis 7 cm vom Mund entfernt

und sprechen Sie mit normaler Lautstärke.
Um mit anderen Teilnehmern zu sprechen, müssen alle Funk­geräte auf den gleichen Kanal und Rufcodierung eingestellt sein.

Empfangen Lassen Sie die PTT-(Sprech)taste los.

☞ Sie können keine Funksignale empfangen, wenn Sie

die PTT-(Sprech)taste gedrückt halten.

CTCSS-Code wählen

CTCSS = Continous Tone Coded Squelch System = Selektivruf.
Es werden alle Gespräche an Funkgeräten signalisiert, die sich

im Empfangsbereich befinden. Voraussetzung dafür ist, dass
alle Funkgeräte auf den gleichen Kanal eingestellt sind. Um
gegenseitige Störungen zu vermeiden, kann auf dem eingestell­ten Kanal ein CTCSS-Code festgelegt werden. Es sind 38
CTCSS-Codes pro Kanal möglich.

CTCSS-Code auswählen und mit der PTT-
(Sprech)taste bestätigen.

☞ Jeder CTCSS-Code entspricht einer bestimmten Tonfre-

quenz, die das Sprechfunkgerät sendet. Die Kommunikation
zwischen zwei Teilnehmern ist nur dann möglich, wenn beide
denselben Kanal und CTCSS-Code verwenden.
Eine Ausnahme ist der CTCSS-Code “0”. Bei dieser Einstellung
können, unabhängig vom CTCSS-Code, alle Gespräche auf
dem eingestellten Kanal gehört werden.Um am Funkverkehr
teilnehmen zu können, muss dann ggf. vom CTCSS-Code “0"
auf den verwendeten CTCSS-Code gewechselt werden.
Wenn Sie mit Funkgeräten kommunizieren möchten, die keinen
CTCSS-Code verwenden, müssen Sie an Ihrem Funkgerät den
CTCSS-Code “0" auswählen.

Kanalsuche

In einer Endlosschleife wird auf den acht Kanälen nach Signalen
gesucht. Im Display erscheint das Symbol . Wird ein aktiver
Kanal gefunden, stoppt die Kanalsuche. Die Betriebs-LED blinkt
einmal pro Sekunde. Drücken Sie die PTT-(Sprech)taste, um
am Funkverkehr teilzunehmen.
Wenn Sie die PTT-(Sprech)taste nicht drücken oder keine Akti­vität auf dem Kanal festgestellt werden kann, wird die Kanalsu­che nach fünf Sekunden fortgesetzt.

Kanal ausschließen

Wenn ein gefundener Kanal von der Kanalsuche nicht weiter
berücksichtigt werden soll, dann können Sie diesen ausschlie­ßen. Beim Start einer neuen Kanalsuche werden wieder alle
Kanäle berücksichtigt.

Taste drücken und halten. Der Kanal wird aus­geschlossen und die Kanalsuche fortgesetzt.

☞ Es ist möglich, alle Kanäle außer dem „Home Channel“

auszuschließen. Als “Home Channel” wird der Kanal bezeichnet,
den Sie als Ausgangspunkt der Kanalsuche festgelegt haben.

Gruppenscan

Sie können eine Kanalgruppe für die Kanalsuche definieren.
Scrollen Sie durch die Kanäle und legen Sie für jeden Kanal ein­zeln fest, ob dieser bei einer Kanalsuche berücksichtigt werden
soll oder nicht.

Wählen Sie einen Kanal.

6 x Drücken Sie die Menütaste 6 mal.

Nehmen Sie den betreffenden Kanal in die
Gruppe auf (“y”) oder nicht (“-”). Bestätigen Sie
mit der PTT-(Sprech)taste. Führen Sie diese
Einstellung für jeden Kanal durch.

Gruppenscan einschalten

7 x Drücken Sie die Menütaste 7 mal.

Schalten Sie Gruppenscan ein- (“y”) oder aus
(“-”). Bestätigen Sie mit der PTT-(Sprech)taste.

☞ Auch wenn “Gruppenscan” aktiviert ist, muss mehr als ein

Kanal zusätzlich zum “Home Channel” programmiert sein, damit
der Gruppenscan durch Drücken der Taste im Bereit­schaftsmodus gestartet werden kann. Ist dies nicht der Fall, wird

eine “normale” Kanalsuche durchgeführt. Als “Home Channel”
wird der Kanal bezeichnet, den Sie als Ausgangspunkt der
Kanalsuche festgelegt haben. In der Betriebsart “Gruppenscan”
wird der “Home Channel” als bevorzugter Kanal behandelt wenn
er nicht der Gruppe zugefügt wurde.
Beachten Sie, dass die Einstellung des CTCSS-Codes der
Kanäle für den Gruppenscan der Einstellung der sendenden
Kanäle entsprechen muss, um diese zu empfangen. Alternativ
kann der CTCSS-Code auf „0“ gesetzt werden, um alle Kanäle
empfangen zu können.

Rufton senden

Der Rufton macht andere Teilnehmer darauf aufmerksam, dass
Sie ein Gespräch beginnen möchten. Die anderen Teilnehmer
müssen den gleichen Kanal und CTCSS-Code verwenden.

Rufton wählen / ausschalten

Sie haben 10 Ruftöne zur Auswahl. Um den Rufton auszuschal­ten wählen Sie die Einstellung “0”.

2 x Drücken Sie die Menütaste 2 mal.

Wählen Sie den gewünschten Rufton.
Bestätigen Sie mit der PTT-(Sprech)taste.

Monitor

Die Monitor-Funktion ermöglicht es Ihnen auf dem aktuell einge­stellten Kanal nach schwachen Signalen zu suchen. Wenn Sie
ein fremdes Signal empfangen, wechseln Sie auf einen freien
Kanal. Kommunizieren Sie mit anderen Teilnehmern immer auf
einem freien Kanal, um Störungen zu vermeiden.

Tastensperre

Die Tastensperre verhindert das ungewollte Ändern von Einstel­lungen. Im Display erscheint das Symbol .

(“-”). Bestätigen Sie mit der PTT-(Sprech)taste.

Bestätigungston

Der Bestätigungston ist zu hören, wenn Sie die PTT-(Sprech)­taste loslassen. Dadurch wird Ihrem Gesprächspartner signali-

siert, dass Ihre Übertragung beendet ist.

Bestätigungston ein-/ausschalten

Schalten Sie das Funkgerät aus. Halten Sie die Taste
gedrückt und schalten Sie gleichzeitig das Funkgerät wieder ein.
Bei eingeschaltetem Bestätigungston erscheint im Display.

Headset

Benutzen Sie das in der Verpackung enthaltene Headset.
Stecken Sie das Funkgerät beispielsweise in die Brusttasche,
um beide Hände frei zu haben. Da das mitgelieferte Headset
über eine zusätzliche PTT-(Sprech)taste verfügt, können Sie
über diese am Headset senden.

Vorsicht beim Betrieb mit Headset: Zu hohe Lautstärke
kann zu bleibenden Gehörschäden führen. Kontrollieren Sie
deshalb vorher die Lautstärkeeinstellung.

Automatische Abschaltung

Sie können Ihre Funkgeräte so einstellen, dass sie nach Ablauf
einer bestimmten Zeit ausgeschaltet werden. Sie können 30, 60
oder 90 Minuten einstellen (Einstellung “0” = deaktiviert).

4 x Drücken Sie die Menütaste 4 mal.

Wählen Sie die gewünschte Zeit und bestäti­gen Sie mit der PTT-(Sprech)taste.

Stoppuhr

Sie können Ihre Funkgeräte als Stoppuhr benutzen.
5 x Drücken Sie die Menütaste 5 mal.

VOX1/ iVOX2(Freisprechen)

Bei diesen Funktionen beginnt das Funkgerät automatisch zu
senden, wenn Ihre Stimme oder ein Geräusch erkannt wird.

VOX-Modus aktivieren

Beim Freisprechen im VOX-Modus wird über ein Headset
gesprochen. Zum Senden muss die PTT-(Sprech)taste am
Funkgerät gedrückt werden.
Benutzen Sie ein handelsübliches Headset ohne PTT-(Sprech)-
taste mit einem 3-poligen 2,5 mm Stereoklinkenstecker.
Steckerbelegung: 1 = Mikrofon

2 = Lautsprecher
3 = Masse

☞ Schalten Sie das Sprechfunkgerät aus, bevor Sie ein

Headset anschließen. Das im Lieferumfang enthaltene
Headset ist für diese Funktion nicht ausgelegt, da dieses
Headset zusätzlich mit einer PTT-(Sprech)taste ausgestattet ist.

1. Schalten Sie das Funkgerät aus.

2. Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung der Anschlussbuchse.

3. Stecken Sie den Stecker eines Headsets in die Anschluss­buchse.

4. Schalten Sie das Funkgerät ein.

5. Im Display wird “VOX” angezeigt.

VOX-Modus deaktivieren

Ziehen Sie den Anschlusstecker des Headsets aus der
Anschlussbuchse - der VOX-Modus wird deaktiviert.

iVOX-Modus aktivieren

Beim Freisprechen im iVOX-Modus wird über das Funkgerät
gesprochen. Die PTT-(Sprech)taste muss nicht gedrückt wer­den, um zu senden.

1. Schalten Sie das Funkgerät aus.

2. Halten Sie die PTT-(Sprech)taste gedrückt und schalten Sie

gleichzeitig das Funkgerät wieder ein.

3. Im Display wird “iVOX” angezeigt.

iVOX-Modus deaktivieren

Um den iVOX-Modus zu deaktivieren, schalten Sie das Funkge­rät aus und wieder ein.

VOX / iVOX-Empfindlichkeit wählen

Für den Betrieb im VOX / iVOX-Modus können 3 Empfindlich­keitsstufen entsprechend der Umgebungsgeräusche gewählt
werden.

Stufe 1 laute Umgebungsgeräusche
Stufe 2 normale Umgebungsgeräusche
Stufe 3 leise Umgebungsgeräusche

3 x Drücken Sie die Menütaste 3 mal.

Wählen Sie die gewünschte Empfindlichkeit

Please read this operating instruction manual thoroughly.

Intended use

These walkie-talkies have been conceived for communication
with other walkie-talkies complying to the same standards. Any
other use is considered unintended use. Unauthorised modifica­tion or reconstruction is not permitted. Under no circumstances
open the devices or complete any repair work yourself.

Ambient conditions

Prevent excessive exposure to smoke, dust, vibration, chemi­cals, moisture, heat and direct sunlight.
Do not use the walkie-talkies in potentially explosive areas.

Power supply

a Caution: Only use the power adapter plug supplied because

other power supplies could damage the walkie-talkie equipment.
Ensure access to the power adapter plug is not obstructed by
furniture or such.

Rechargeable battery pack

a Caution: Never throw batteries into a fire. Only use batteries

of the same type! Pay attention to correct polarity. Incorrect
polarity of the batteries represents a risk of explosion during
charging.

Medical equipment

a Caution: Never use the walkie-talkies in the vicinity of

medical equipment. Effects on such equipment cannot be
fully ruled out. Walkie-talkies can cause an unpleasant
humming sound in hearing aids.

Safety information

a Caution: It is essential to read the Safety Information in

Chapter 1 before starting up.

Checking the package contents

The package contains:

- two walkie-talkies with belt clip - two rechargeable
battery packs

- two headsets - a power adapter plug

- an operating manual - a charging station

Inserting the battery packs

Open the battery compartment cover. Insert the battery pack
supplied. Pay attention to correct polarity. Close the battery
compartment cover.

a Caution: Standard battery packs or batteries are not

charged. Only use the battery packs supplied or ones of the
same type.

a Caution: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly

replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type
(Supplier: LEXEL, model number: KEBT-085-1).

Batteries(battery pack or batteries) shall not be exposed to
excessive heat such as sunshine,fire or the like.

Charging the battery pack

Connect the charging station as illustrated in the diagram. For
safety reasons, only use the power adapter plug supplied.

Mains power outlet

Before using the walkie-talkies for the first time, charge them for
at least 14 hours. When the walkie-talkies are connected cor­rectly, the red LEDs light up. The LEDs only signal that the con­nection is correct and continue to light up even when the battery
packs are fully charged.

a Caution: Do not charge the walkie-talkies with charging

units from other manufacturers.
The current battery charge status is indicated in the display:

Full Half empty Low Empty

As soon as the indicator flashes in the display and acoustic
warning signals are issued, the battery pack needs to be
recharged.

Attaching the belt clip

Insert the belt clip in the
opening provided until it
audibly snaps into place.
To remove the belt clip,
press on it and pull it from

Switching the walkie-talkie on/off

For switching on the walkie-talkie press and
hold down the menu key. An acoustic signal is
issued. The current channel setting appears in
the display and the Ready LED flashes.

For switching off the walkie-talkie press and
hold down the menu key.

Volume control

/

Press vol+ oder vol - to increase or decrease
the volume.

Transmitting and receiving

Transmitting After pressing the PTT button, the Ready LED

lights up. If the button is pressed longer than
60 seconds, a warning signal is issued. Trans­mission is interrupted.

☞ Hold the walkie-talkie approx. 5 to 7 cm from your mouth

and speak at a normal volume. In order to talk to other sub­scribers, the respective walkie-talkies must be set to the
same channel and CTCSS code.

Receiving Release the PTT button.

☞ Radio signals cannot be received when the PTT button

is being pressed.

Selecting the CTCSS code

CTCSS: Continous Tone Coded Squelch System
All the calls on walkie-talkies which occur within the range of

reception are signalled. A condition for this is that all the walkie­talkies are set to the same channel. To prevent mutual interfer­ence, a CTCSS code can be defined for the set channel. 38
CTCSS codes can be set per channel.

Select the CTCSS code and confirm with the
PTT button.

☞ Each CTCSS code complies to a specific tone frequency

transmitted by the walkie-talkie. Communication between
the subscribers is only then possible when both parties
are using the same channel and CTCSS code. An exception
is CTCSS code “0”. In the case of this setting, all the calls on the
set channel can be heard regardless of the CTCSS code. To be
able to participate in the radio communication, it may be neces­sary to switch from CTCSS code “0” to the CTCSS code being
used.

If you want to communicate with the walkie-talkies which are not
using a CTCSS, you must select CTCSS code “0” on your
walkie-talkie.

Searching for a channel

Signals are searched for in the eight channels in a continuous
cycle. The icon appears in the display. If an active channel
is detected, the channel search stops. The Ready LED flashes
once per second.
Press the PTT button to enable radio communication.
If the PTT button is not pressed or the channel is inactive,
channel search resumes after five seconds.

Excluding a channel

If a channel found during the channel search process should not
be considered for subsequent use, it can be excluded. All the
channels are taken into consideration again when a new chan­nel search is started.

Press and hold down. The channel is excluded
and the channel search automatically resumed.

☞ It is possible to exclude all channels with the exception of

the “home channel“. The “home channel“ is the channel you
currently configured, when start to scan, the radio searches from
home channel.

Group Scan

It is possible to define a group for the channel search. Scroll
through all the channels and define for each one whether the
individual channel should be considered in the channel search
or not.

Defining a group of channels

Select a channel.

6 x Press the menu key 6 times.

Add (“y”) or exclude (“-”) the respective chan­nel. Confirm with the PTT button.
Make this setting for each channel.

Starting group scan

7 x Press the menu key 7 times.

Activate (“y”) or deactivate (“-”) group scan.
Confirm with the PTT button.

☞ Even if Group Scan feature is activated, in order to start

Group Scan in standby mode by pressing , you must
have configured more than one group channel except home
channel. Otherwise, the radio will operate as normal scan.
Home channel is the channel you currently configured,
when start to scan, the radio searches from home channel.
In Group Scan, the home channel is considered as priority
channel if it is not set to group channel.
It is essential for the selected channels in the Group Scan that
the CTCSS code is configured to the same setting as those
transmitting in the group otherwise the Group scan will never
find the transmitting PMR signal. Alternatively the CTCSS code

Transmit ringing tone

The ringing tones indicate to other subscribers that you want to
talk to them. A condition for this is that the other subscribers are
using the same channel and CTCSS code.

Send ringing tones

Selecting/Deactivating the ringing tone

There are 10 ringing tones available for selection. To deactivate
the ringing tone, select the setting “0”.

Select the ringing tone. Confirm with the PTT

button.

Monitor

The Monitor function enables the search for weak signals on the
channel currently set. If you receive an external signal, switch to
a free channel. Always communicate with other subscribers on a
free channel to prevent interference.

Press and hold down: Monitor the channel.
Release: End the monitoring function.

Key lock

The key lock function prevents inadvertent modification of set­tings. When the key lock function is activated, the icon
appears in the display.

Activating key lock

Confirmation signal

The confirmation signal is issued on releasing the PTT button.
This signals to the caller that you have ended transmission.

Activating/Deactivating the confirmation signal

Switch the walkie-talkie off. Press and hold the button and,
while doing so, switch the walkie-talkie on again. If the confirma­tion signal is activated, the icon appears in the display.

Headset

You can use the headset enclosed with the equipment to be able
to work faster, for example. Clip the walkie-talkie on the belt so
that you have both hands free. Since the headset supplied is
equipped with an additional PTT button, you can transmit simply
by using the PTT button on the headset.

CAUTION: E

xcessive sound pressure from earphones and

headphones can cause hearing loss.

Automatic deactivation

The walkie-talkies can be set up so that they are automatically
switched off after a certain time. It can be set to 30, 60 or 90
minutes. The function is deactivated when the “0” setting is
selected.

Stopwatch

The walkie-talkies can be used as stopwatches.

VOX1/ iVOX2(handsfree)

When this function is active, the walkie-talkie automatically starts
to transmit when the unit detects your voice or a sound.

☞ When you start to speak, there is a slight delay before the

walkie-talkie starts to transmit.

Activate VOX mode

When using VOX1 mode, conversation is carried out via a head­set. The PTT button on the walkie-talkie need not be pressed to
transmit.
Use a commercially available headset without a PTT button
equipped with a 3-pin, 2.5 mm stereo jack plug.
Pin assignment:: 1 = Microphone

2 = Loudspeaker
3 = Earth

☞ Switch the walkie-talkie off before connecting a headset.

The headset supplied with the walkie-talkie is not designed
for this function because it is equipped with a PTT button.

1. Switch the walkie-talkie off.

2. Raise the cover on the connection socket.

3. Insert the plug on the headset in the connection socket.

4. Switch the walkie-talkie on.

5. “VOX” appears in the display.

Deactivating VOX mode

To deactivate VOX mode, pull the headset plug out of the con­nection socket.

When using iVOX mode, conversation is carried out via the
walkie-talkie. The PTT button on the walkie-talkie need not be

3. “iVOX” appears in the display.

Deactivating iVOX mode

In order to deactivate iVOX mode, switch the walkie-talkie off
and on again.

Selecting VOX / iVOX sensitivity

There are three sensitivity levels available for operation in VOX /
iVOX mode and can be selected according to the ambient noise.

Level 1 High ambient noise
Level 2 Normal ambient noise
Level 3 Low ambient noise
