INSTALLATION
The Kicker DDS12 loaded subwoofer enclosure was specially designed for “Livin’ Loud” out in the
harsh automotive environment. The DS series was designed to offer booming bass at the best bargain
possible without compromising Kicker quality. The DDS12 is made of advanced materials and
construction techniques to maintain optimal performance for years to come.
CheckTheLoad
The DDS12 loaded subwoofer enclosure is internally wired for a 2 or 4 ohm load at the speaker-wire
connection terminal. Please refer to this terminal or the box packaging for your enclosure’s specific
impedance. Check to see if your amplifier is optimized to drive this load.
DDS12Vented
The DDS12 vented enclosure combines KICKER’s award winning line of subwoofers with computermodeled and human fine-tuned enclosures to offer a level of bass performance never before thought
possible from a commercially available, ready-to-install subwoofer system. The DDS enclosure is
available with two pre-loaded 12 inch DS subwoofers.
The location and orientation of your enclosure will affect the quality and quantity of the bass. Designed
for use in SUV and sedan type vehicles, these enclosures offer you several mounting options. The vent
opening in these enclosures can not be obstructed. At some frequencies most of the bass will come
out of the vent. Therefore we recommend you leave at least four inches (10cm) of clear space around
the vent.
If the enclosure is to be mounted all the way in the back of the vehicle, it works best to point the
woofer toward the front of the vehicle. Conversely, if the enclosure is going to be mounted closer to the
back seat, pointing the woofer toward the rear of the vehicle will give you the best results. These

guidelines pertain to enclosures mounted in the vehicle as outlined in Figure 1.

bottom of the enclosure using the supplied smaller screws. Each bracket must be positioned so the
rounded end protrudes approximately 3/4" (2cm) from under the cabinet to allow a screw to easily pass
through the bracket, securing the enclosure to the vehicle. With the enclosure right side up, securely
attach the enclosure to the vehicle with the supplied larger screws. See Figure 4. If the supplied
hardware is not applicable to your installation, some other means of securely attaching the enclosure to
the vehicle must be used.

Pro Tip: You are one ZX Mono-Amplifier and a few cables away from a slamm’in system!
The Kicker ZX line of mono-amplifiers make it easy to upgrade to rock-solid bass with your
existing or stock source unit. Please ask your dealer about Kicker ZX Amplifier upgrades.

If it is more convenient to mount the enclosure along a side wall, put the enclosure on the left side of
the vehicle as outlined in Figure 2. This orientation will make the vent point toward the rear of the
vehicle and will produce the most low bass output. Remember to leave at least four inches (10cm) of
room between the enclosure and the back of the vehicle.
After determining the best mounting position, carefully check the areas where the mounting brackets
will be placed. Make sure the mounting screws will not puncture the gas tank, brake lines, wiring, or
interfere with any mechanical parts on the underside of the mounting surface. Turn the enclosure
upside-down, pre-drill the holes using a 7/64” (2.5mm) bit and attach the four mounting brackets to the

Plug your subwoofer speaker wire into the terminals, using the red connector as positive and the black
connector as negative. Hook the other end of the wire to your subwoofer amplifier in accordance with
its owner's manual. If you are using the recommended Kicker ZX amplifier to power your DDS12
enclosure, refer to Figure 3 for assistance.

La caja del subwoofer DDS12 está conectada internamente con un cableado con carga de 2 o 4

Caja DDS12 con Apertura
La caja DDS12 con apertura combina la línea ganadora de premios de KICKER con modelación
computarizada y cajas afinadas por oídos humanos, para ofrecer un rendimiento de sonidos graves
nunca visto en el mercado en un sistema de subwoofers listo para ser instalado. La caja DDS está
disponible con dos subwoofers DS de 12 pulgadas ya cargados.
La ubicación y orientación de su caja afectará la calidad y cantidad del sonido grave.
Diseñadas para ser utilizadas en vehículos tipo sedán y SUB, estas cajas le ofrecen diversas opciones
de montaje. La apertura con rejilla de estas cajas no puede ser obstruida. Para algunas frecuencias
gran parte del sonido grave saldrá fuera de la apertura. En consecuencia, recomendamos que deje al
menos cuatro pulgadas (10cm) de espacio alrededor de la apertura.
Si la caja va a ser montada en la parte trasera del vehículo, funcionará mejor si el woofer apunta en
dirección al frente del vehículo. De modo inverso, si la caja va a ser montada más cerca del asiento
trasero, si coloca el woofer apuntando a la parte trasera del vehículo obtendrá mejores resultados.
Estas directrices se refieren a cajas montadas en el vehículo, tal como se esquematiza en la Figura 1.
CONFIGURACIÓN
Si le es más conveniente montar la caja en un lateral, coloque la caja en el lado izquierdo del vehículo,
tal como se esquematiza en la Figura 2. Esta orientación hará que la apertura apunte a la parte trasera
del vehículo y posibilitará una mayor salida de sonido grave. Recuerde dejar al menos cuatro pulgadas
(10cm) de espacio entre la caja y la parte trasera del vehículo.
Tras determinar la mejor ubicación para el montaje, compruebe con detenimiento las áreas en las que
colocará los brazos de soporte. Asegúrese que los tornillos de montaje no perforen el depósito de
gasolina, el circuito de frenos, el cableado o interfieran con cualquier componente mecánico de la
parte inferior de la superficie de montaje. Ponga la caja boca abajo, perfore los agujeros con una broca
de 7/64” (2.5mm) y fije los cuatro brazos de soporte a la base de la caja utilizando los tornillos más
pequeños que se suministran.
Por favor, deje pasar dos semanas de asentamiento para que el altavoz alcance un rendimiento óptimo. Para obtener el mejor rendimiento

Cada brazo de soporte debe colocarse de forma que su cabo redondeado sobresalga
aproximadamente 3/4" (2cm) de la caja para permitir que el tornillo pase fácilmente a través del brazo
de soporte, fijando la caja al vehículo.Con la caja levantada por su lado derecho, fije con firmeza la
misma al vehículo con los tornillos más grandes que se suministran. Vea la Figura 4. Si el hardware
proveído no es adecuado para su instalación, deberá emplear otro medio para fijar con firmeza la caja
al vehículo.
Recordatorio: ¡Le separa un Mono-Amplificador ZX y unos pocos cables más para
disfrutar de un sistema impactante! La línea de mono-amplificadores Kicker ZX le permite
incorporar a su unidad actualizaciones de bajo tan sólidas como la piedra. Por favor,
pregunte a su vendedor a cerca de las actualizaciones para su Amplificador Kicker ZX.

Überprüfen Der Last
Das angereicherte Kicker DDS12-Subwoofer-Gehäuse wird intern für eine 2 oder 4 Ohm Last an der
Lautsprecherkabel-Anschlussklemme angeschlossen. Beziehen Sie sich bitte auf diesen Anschluss
oder die Verpackung für die spezifische Impedanz Ihres Gehäuses. Prüfen Sie nach, ob Ihr Verstärker
optimiert ist, um diese Last zu betreiben.
DDS12 Belüftet
Das DDS12 belüftete Gehäuse kombiniert KICKERS preisgekrönte Serie von mit dem Computer
modellierten Subwoofern und von Menschen fein abgestimmte Gehäuse, um ein Niveau der
Bassleistung anzubieten, die noch niemals von einem gewerblich verfügbaren, einbaufertigen
Subwoofer-System für möglich gehalten wurde. Das DDS-Gehäuse ist mit zwei vorinstallierten 30 cm
DS-Subwoofer erhältlich.
Die Position und Ausrichtung Ihres Gehäuses werden die Qualität und Menge des Basses beeinflussen.
Für den Gebrauch in GELÄNDEWAGEN und Limousinen entworfen, bieten diese Gehäuse Ihnen
mehrere Montageoptionen an. Die Lüftungsöffnung in diesen Gehäusen sollte nicht versperrt werden.
Bei einigen Frequenzen wird der größte Teil des Basses aus der Öffnung kommen.
Deshalb empfehlen wir Ihnen, dass Sie mindestens 10 cm freien Platz um die Öffnung lassen.
Wenn das Gehäuse ganz hinten im Fahrzeugende montiert werden soll, arbeitet es am besten, wenn
die Tieftonlautsprecher nach vorne zur Fahrzeugfront ausgerichtet sind. Umgekehrt, wenn das
Gehäuse näher zum Rücksitz montiert wird und die Tieftonlautsprecher zum Fahrzeugende
ausgerichtet sind, gibt das Ihnen die besten Ergebnisse. Diese Richtlinien betreffen Gehäuse, die in
Fahrzeugen montiert sind, wie in der Abbildung 1 skizziert.
KONFIGURATION
Wenn es günstiger ist, das Gehäuse entlang einer Seitenwand zu montieren, stellen Sie das Gehäuse
auf die linke Seite des Fahrzeugs auf, wie in der Abbildung 2 skizziert. Das wird die Öffnung zum
Fahrzeugende hin ausrichten und wird die tiefste Bassausgabe erzeugen. Vergessen Sie nicht,
mindestens 10 cm Raum zwischen dem Gehäuse und dem Fahrzeugende zu lassen.
Nach Festlegung der besten Montageposition überprüfen Sie sorgfältig die Bereiche, wo die
Montagehalter platziert werden. Passen Sie auf, dass die Montageschrauben nicht den Benzintank, die
Bremsleitungen und die Verkabelung beschädigen oder irgendwelche mechanischen Teile auf der
Unterseite der Montagefläche beeinträchtigen. Drehen Sie das Gehäuse um, bohren Sie die Löcher vor,
indem Sie ein 2.5 mm Bit verwenden, befestigen Sie die vier Montagehalter mit den mitgelieferten
kleineren Schrauben auf dem Boden des Gehäuses.

Jeder Halter muss so eingestellt werden, dass das runde Ende ungefähr 2 cm unter dem Gehäuse
hervorragt, um eine Schraube leicht durch den Halter zu führen und das Gehäuse an das Fahrzeug zu
befestigen. Stellen Sie das Gehäuse mit der rechten Seite nach oben auf und bringen Sie es fest an das
Fahrzeug mit den mitgelieferten größeren Schrauben an. Siehe Abbildung 4. Wenn die mitgelieferte
Hardware nicht für Ihre Installation geeignet ist, müssen andere Mittel angewendet werden, um das
Gehäuse an das Fahrzeug anzubringen.

INSTALLATION
L'enceinte DDS12 a été été spécialement conçue pour ceux qui veulent un son 'gros comme ça' dans

Vérification de la charge
L'enceinte chargée DSS12 a un câblage interne conçu pour une charge de 2 à 4 ohms à la prise de

spécifique de l'enceinte.Vérifiez que votre ampli est optimisé pour supporter ctte charge.
DDS12 réflexe
L'enceinte réflexe DDS12 associe la gamme primée de subwoofers KICKER avec ses enceintes
conçues par ordinateur et réglées manuellement pour vous offrir un niveau de rendement de basses
jamais atteint par un système de subwoofer commercialisé et prêt à l'installation.
L'enceinte DDS existe avec deux subwoofers DS 12 pouces.
L'emplacement et l'orientation de votre enceinte va avoir une influence sur la qualité et la quantité des
basses.Conçues pour les véhicules de travail/loisir ou les berlines,ces einceintes vous permettent
differents types d'installation.L'ouverture de ventilation de ces enceintes ne doit pas être obstruée.
À certaines fréquences la plupart des basses sortira par l'ouverture de ventilation. C'est pourquoi nous
vous conseillons de laisser un espace d'au moins 10cm autour de l'ouverture.
Si l'enceinte est installée entièrement à l'arrière du véhicule, le woofer doit être placé en direction de
l'avant du véhicule.Et inversement, si l'enceinte est proche des sièges arrières, dirigez le woofer en
drection de l'arrière du véhicule pour les meilleurs résultats.Ces instructions concernent les enceintes

Chaque support doit être positionné de façon à ce que chaque extrémité ronde dépasse d'environ 2
cm sous le coffret afin de permettre à une vis de passer facilement dans le support pour fixer l'enceinte
au véhicule. L'enceinte couchée sur le côté gauche, fixez l'enceinte au véhicule avec les grandes vis
fournies. Voir illustration 4. Si les vis fournies ne peuvent pas être utilisées dans votre véhicule, il faudra
trouver une autre manière de fixer l'enceinte au véhicule.
Le truc du pro : Vous n'êtes plus qu'à un ampli ZX Mono et quelques câbles des disposer
d'un système explosif ! La ligne d'amplis mono Kicker ZX permet facilement d'améliorer le
rendu de basses puissantes sur la base de votre installation existante. Demandez à votre
vendeur comment améliorer votre ampli Kicker.

Il est plus pratique d'installer l'enceinte le long d'une paroi latérale, placez l'enceinte sur le côté gauche
du véhicule comme le montre l'illustration 2.Cette orientation placera la ventilation en direction de
l'arrière du véhicule et produira le meilleur rendement de basses.N'oubliez pas de laisser au moins
10cm entre l'enceinte et l'arrière du véhicule.
Après avoir déterminé le meilleur positionement pour l'installation, choisissez avec soin l'endroit où les
supports de fixation vont être placés.Attention à ne pas percer le reservoir à essence avec les vis de
fixation, ou toucher les câbles de freins, un circuit électrique ou des parties mécaniques situées sous la
surface de fixation.Retournez l'enceinte, percez les trous avec un foret de 2,5 mm puis fixez les quatre
supports de fixation à la basede l'enceinte à l'aide des petites vis fournies.
Remarque: Afin d'obtenir les meilleures performances avec votre nouvel ampli Kicker, nous vous conseillons de n'utiliser que des

Câblage du DDS12
Branchez votre speaker subwoofer sur les bornes avec le connecteur rouge sur le positif et le noir sur le
négatif.Accrochez l'autre bout du câble à votre ampli subwoofer conformément au manuel du

Kicker warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of
THREE (3) MONTHS from date of original purchase with receipt. When purchased from an Authorized KICKER Dealer
it is warranted for ONE (1) YEAR from date of original purchase with receipt. In all cases you must have the original
receipt. Should service be necessary under this warranty for any reason due to manufacturing defect or malfunction
during the warranty period, Kicker will repair or replace (at its discretion) the defective merchandise with equivalent
merchandise at no charge. Warranty replacements may have cosmetic scratches and blemishes. Discontinued
products may be replaced with more current equivalent products.
This warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is not extended to owners of the product subsequent to the
original purchaser. Any applicable implied warranties are limited in duration to a period of the express warranty as
provided herein beginning with the date of the original purchase at retail, and no warranties, whether express or

If it becomes necessary for you to return defective merchandise directly to Stillwater Designs (Kicker), call the Kicker
Customer Service Department at (405) 624-8510 for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Package only
the defective items in a package that will prevent shipping damage, and return to:

The RMA number must be clearly marked on the outside of the package. Please return only defective components.
The return of functioning items increases your return freight charges. Non-defective items will be returned freightcollect to you. For example, if a subwoofer is defective, only return the defective subwoofer, not the entire enclosure.
Include a copy of the original receipt with the purchase date clearly visible, and a "proof-of-purchase" statement listing
the Customer's name, Dealer's name and invoice number, and product purchased. Warranty expiration on items
without proof-of-purchase will be determined from the type of sale and manufacturing date code. Freight must be
prepaid; items sent freight-collect, or COD, will be refused.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED?
This warranty is valid only if the product is used for the purpose for which it was designed.
It does not cover:
o Damage due to improper installation
o Subsequent damage to other components
o Damage caused by exposure to moisture, excessive heat, chemical cleaners, and/or UV radiation
o Damage through negligence, misuse, accident or abuse. Repeated returns for the same damage may be
considered abuse
o Any cost or expense related to the removal or reinstallation of product
o Speakers damaged due to amplifier clipping or distortion
o Items previously repaired or modified by any unauthorized repair facility
o Return shipping on non-defective items
o Products with tampered or missing barcode labels
o Products returned without a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number
o Freight Damage
o The cost of shipping product to Kicker
o Service performed by anyone other than Kicker
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Kicker strives to maintain a goal of 24-hour service for all acoustics (subwoofers, midrange and coaxial drivers,
tweeters, crossovers, etc) returns. Delays may be incurred if lack of replacement inventory or parts is encountered.
Failure to follow these steps may void your warranty. Any questions can be directed to the Kicker Customer Service
Department at (405) 624-8510.
Contact your International Kicker dealer or distributor concerning specific procedures for your country's warranty
policies.
WARNING: KICKER products are capable of producing sound levels that can permanently damage your hearing!
Turning up a system to a level that has audible distortion is more damaging to your ears than listening to an
undistorted system at the same volume level. The threshold of pain is always an indicator that the sound level is too
