Installation
Allow space for adequate ventilation.
Location
Place the AMP-1235 amplier on a solid surface or in an
audio/video equipment rack. Ampliers do produce heat
and the best way to insure long life of your equipment is to
provide adequate ventilation. Be sure to leave a minimum
of 3 inches clearance above and behind the amplier and
at least 2 inches to each side. If installed in a rack, active
thermal management (such as rack fans) is recommended.

Inputs
Use high quality RCA cables to connect sources to the amplier inputs. You may use the BUS 1 or BUS 2 inputs if one
source will be used in multiple rooms, or you may use the LINE IN input for each channel. Use the input selector switch
for each channel to select an input. Be sure to switch left and right channels to the same input where appropriate.
Low Level Outputs
The AMP-1235 amplier provides BUS 1 and BUS 2 outputs which allow multiple ampliers to be connected to the
sources of BUS 1 and BUS 2.

Speaker Outputs
Each channel features a removable screw terminal speaker
connection for easy installation in tight spaces. The terminal can
accommodate up to 14 gauge stranded speaker wire.
Bridging
For more power each pair of channels on the AMP1235 amplier
can be bridged (see example diagram). With the power turned
off, set the bridging switch to the BR position. Next connect the
speaker wire to the positive (+) terminals of the Left and Right
speaker connector as shown in illustration. When channels are
bridged the left or lowered numbered channel’s controls (such
as VOLUME and BUS/LINE IN) are used.
Trigger Connections
If you wish to turn on the amplier via an external trigger
connect the source to the TRIGGER IN jack using a
3.5mm, tip positive plug. To trigger other devices using the
AMP-1235 as the trigger source use the TRIGGER OUT
jack. This provides a 12V DC (500mA max), tip positive
output.
Power Connection
The last connection made should be the AC power using a standard IEC type power cord.

Operation
Panel Indicator
The power LED under the power switch is red when AC
power is connected and the power switch depressed and
the amplier is in the standby mode. When the amplier is
turned on (by an audio signal in AUTO mode or external
trigger in TRIGGER mode) the LED changes to blue to
indicate the amplier is operating.
The Zone LEDs indicate the status of each zone, or pair
of channels. If a channel’s LED is off it is in standby mode.
If the LED is blue the channel is operating normally. If the
LED is red this may indicate that the amplier is in a protection mode for either a short circuit on the speaker outputs
or thermal overheating. Find and correct the short circuit or
improve ventilation to correct the issue.
Power
The AMP1235 amplier can be turned on in three different ways using the POWER CONTROL switch on the rear
panel.
• ON: The amplier powers on any time the front power
switch is pressed.
• AUTO: The amplier powers only the channels on which
an audio signal is detected.
• TRIGGER: The amplier is controlled by an external trig-
ger source (3-30v AC or DC).
Gain
The output level of each channel can be ne tuned using
the gain control for each channel on the rear panel.
