Audi recommends only performing certain func­tions, such as enter ing a destination, when the vehicle is stat ionary. Always be prepared to stop
operating the MMI system in the interest of your safety and that of other road users.

Switching the MMI on and off
The MMI switches on and off automatically with the ignition. It can also be switched on or off
manually .
- Switching on manually: Press the On/Off knob

an intuitive and standardized operating process .

Adjusting the volume
The volume of an audio source or a system mes-
sage (for example, from the voice recognition system*) can be adjusted directly while the sound is playing using the On/Off knob.
- Increasing or decreasing the volume: Turn the
On/Off knob ® left .
- Muting or pausing: Press the On/Off knob
briefly.

Control knob with
joystick function
The MMI control panel has a control knob with a
joystick function, which can be used to move the
crosshairs in a map, adjust the sound focus or operate the main menu in a DVD.
Moving the map
Requirement: A map must be displayed

- Deleting characters: Turn the control knob with
the selection arrow to + @ and press the con­trol knob. To delete all characters in the input field, press and hold the control knob on + un­til all characters in the input field are deleted.
- Entering special characters: Press the 0-9 con-
trol button

- Calling a contact in the directory: Select Direc-
tory.
- Calling a contact in a call list: Select Dialed

Incoming call
Applies to vehicles: with a multi fun ction steering wheel and
telephone

Holding or resuming a call : You can put your ex-
isting phone call on hold and resume it.
Swap call: You can alternate between two phone
calls at the same time. One of the calls will be on hold.
End call ends the active phone call. A call
that was placed on hold stays on hold and can be taken off hold with

If you have not sta rted route guidance , a com-
pass will disp lay in the navigation tab.
A WARNING
The route calcu lated by the navigation system
is a recommendation for reaching your desti-
nation. Obey traffic lights, stopping restric­tions, one-way streets , lane change restric­tions , etc .

Bluetooth, you can use the telephone functions
convenient ly through the MMI.
A WARNING
- Medical experts warn that cell phones can interfere with the function of pacemakers.
Always maintain a minimum distance of 20
cent imeters between the cell phone anten­na and the pacemaker .

- Switch off the telephone where use of cell phones is prohibited. Obey all applicable no-
t ices and regulations.
- Only an authorized Audi dea ler or author­ized repair facility may install, repair or per-
form maintenance on the car phone.

The Bluetooth connection range is limited to
inside the vehicle. It can also be affected by local conditions and interference with other
devices.
Connecting a cell phone
- Do not carry the cell phone in a pocket di­rectly over the pacemaker when the phone is switched on.
- Switch the cell phone off immediately if you suspect it may be interfering with the
pacemaker.
- Do not use the voice recogn ition system

voice may change in stressful situations. It
may take longer to dial the number or the system may not be able to dial it at all. Dial the emergency number manually .
